You can customize your Swiss Army Knife with Swissbianco. However, they're way more expensive. Nonetheless, there are literally hundreds of Victorinox SAK combinations, I'm sure there's a model for everyone.
I love this knife. I own a few other swiss knifes and I always come back to the Champ, I have big hands so its size doesnt bother me. I always like to know I have a good selection of tools and not need them, instead of carrying a smaller swiss knife and needing a tool and not having it. Good review. Recommend this knife highly.
Just a small point, but the SAK's scales are cellidor, NOT plastic. ETA: The small blade on my mine is probably used more than the largest, I'd say about 80% whereas the largest blade, about 20%. The reamer is great for hollowing out sticks. in fact the reamer can be used for many tasks, even striking a spark off my Swedish fire steel. It's so versatile. Many thanks for your video and demos.
Good review. I bought mine second hand but in mint condition about 20 years ago. Still have it. I also own several other Swiss Army knives. Brilliant product. Ashley. Durban, South Africa.
I saw where a guy filed the parcel hook into a lock pic tool. The Champ looks like a smaller, handy alternative to a full sized multi-tool if carried in a belt pouch or bag/briefcase.
This morning my super glue bottle was completely blocked from too much glue stuck in the nozzle and the Swiss Champ straight pin solved the problem. I've had a black Swiss Champ since 1997 and I can't count the times that knife saved the day.
I've had one of these for about 10 years. It's been stuck in my backpack in a leather pouch and only gets occasional use. I've recently been looking at getting another smaller SAK with a view to carrying it daily but while trying to figure out which one offered the best combination I came to the conclusion that I may as well just stick with the champ and have everything in one knife. In reality it's not that much bigger than a huntsman or a ranger. I also have a mini champ and an alox farmer which work well together for legal carry plus I can swap out the farmer for a wood scaled forester with locking blade when the need arises.
Awesome simple yet detailed review!!! I've been looking into a SwissChamp, they're quite affordable for what you get. Even knowing Victorinox already, this video helped a lot. Good channel. Greetings from the Caribbean.
I'd like to see a follow-up review. Since owning this pocket toolbox, have you used it? Does it stay on a self at home? Did it get stashed in the car? Did it replace the Farmer in your work bag? Which tools proved themselves useful, which extraneous? Worth owning? Etc.....
A very nice review with detailed explanation of all the tools. Liked it. I got mine yesterday and it is the same black colour Swiss champ. Really liked the colour which is quite different from the usual red one. Have been collecting Victorinox SAK for sometime now but I like the Swiss champ the most alongside my cybertool 41.
Good Review as I have just received my Swiss Champ two days ago. Love it so far. One question if I may. You mentioned the user guide and that you would refer back to it as it was very useful. I did not see you go back to it though...
Hook will be most useful in a camping situation. Fire going, small pot hanging over the fire thanks to a wire bale. Use the hook on the bale to remove if off of the end of the horizontal stick holding the pot over the fire.
Drop your keys? Tie string to key ring & open hook. How else will you get them back if fell into a storm drain, (not uncommon)? A YT Vid showed about one hundred uses for the hook. The hook will hold 150 pounds.
Hey man good review. I got a question for you. I bought one of these a year ago, i dropped it and there is a small dent in the metal it doesn't affect the functionality do you think they will repair it for me free of charge?
I have to ask brother because I live in North Carolina. What is the regulations on knives over there. I'm honestly curious, because it's hard to get actual information over here. I'm a huge fan of Victorinox knives myself. I recently received the 2021 Damascus, and my latest is a swiss champ, the reason why I'm watching your video. Thank for this video, and any information you can impart on me. Thank you sir
In the UK we're allowed to carry folding non-locking pocket knives with a blade up to 3 inches in length without valid reason. This includes one-handed opening knives (as long as the blade doesn't lock). So I EDC SAKs and other folders like the Spyderco Urban legally. The exception is if you're going into school, college or uni premises, or government buildings, such as courts where they have metal detectors, there you can't even have a Victorinox Classic keychain knife on you. We're allowed to carry other types of knife with ''valid reason''. For example yesterday I biked through West London carrying 4 fixed blade lethally sharp knives in my bag, with blades up to 10 inches long...after my shift in a pub kitchen where I work as a chef. This is valid reason, but today on my day off I couldn't justify carrying them with me to the supermarket. Same applies if a carpet fitter needs a Stanley knife at work, or if you're doing outdoor activities such as camping, hiking etc.
I received a Swiss Champ for Christmas love it already (I already know how to make a tobacco pipe and whistle (I'll put up a video of the processes soon.)
I'm curious about this packaging as well. Mine came in a box without any pamphlet or instructions, and my box is even smaller than the box in this review. My box had nothing holding my knife in place. My knife wiggled around in the box just-enough to have scratches all over my 'new' black scales. Not thrilled. I wrote an email to Victorinox just now to ask if they're actually selling a product like this, or if my new SAK SwissChamp is possibly a great-looking fake. If my knife turns out to be legit, I am pretty shocked about Victorinox's lack of care with crappy packaging that causes damage to the knife before I even start to use it (and no instruction manual is pretty crappy too). Maybe mine is a fake? If anyone has any thoughts on how these SwissChamps in black are packaged in 2017, I would appreciate it. I bought my knife on eBay from Midwest Supply who has lots of sales and a near perfect rating, so I'm having a hard time believing this is a fake...but I'm totally torn right now because I'm used to much higher presentation from Victorinox. I will see what you all have to say here as well as what Victorinox support says soon.
Lol most never come in blister pack. They're always a box, though recently most of tye boxes are like EnigmaRocker where it is loose in there. The fieldmaster I got in 2002 was like that too.
Recently bought the newer model in black. Rest assured yours is most likely legit. They come in a silver box (smaller than what’s in the video) and yes... they toss about during transit and scratch the Cellidor scales. Want to know which model you have? Head over to Sakwiki and read. Original Model: Gray Plastic + Glass Lens 8x Newer: Clear Plastic + Plastic Lens 5x Newest model: Plastic + Glass Lens 6x. You’re welcome 👍🏾
Really? The one on my Rebar isn't, it's shorter and much thinner, flimsy as heck, and I'd be afraid to break it if I used it. I'm pretty sure the saw on the Wave, Charge and Signal is shorter too, although probably the ones on the Surge and Supertool may be longer, but certainly not longer than the ones on larger SAKs in 111mm size and higher, such as the One-handed Trekker.
One of the better Swiss Champ reviews I've seen here on YT. Good job!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
i just ordered a swiss champ. i owned one for years and sadly it was stolen. i do wish tho, victorinox would let us pick which tools we wanted
I just order this past thursday for my bday. Super excite :3

I have the same Swiss Champ. It was your review that got me to buy it! I also have the Farmer and Waiter. Very functional tools.

You can magnetize the straight pin and use it as a compass if that's something you're interested in.

Appreciate the use of proper terminology and the fact that this is not just a review but a demo. Great vid. Thanks
I'm going to be buying one hopefully in a month or less and it definitely looks like it will help me in my everyday life! Thank you for the review!

Good call on adding the mini screwdriver to other Victorionox knives.

I've also found it useful for reaching into narrow tubes while geocaching.
I used mine on a stuck zipper on a pack.
NGMonocrom could be used to pull tent stakes.
Drop your keys?
Tie string to key ring & open hook.
How else will you get them back if fell into a storm drain, (not uncommon)?
A YT Vid showed about one hundred uses for the hook.
The hook will hold 150 pounds.
Screw the pen in the cork screw then close it for better control in writing. Very comfortable.
The notch at the end of the fish scaler is a hook disgorger.
Also great for picking olives, jalapeños, or pickles out of the jar.
Brilliant video. Thanks for sharing this review.
Thanks, DevonReviewer. I really enjoy your reviews.
the best swiss champ review Ive watched! BTW nice watch too~

Muy buena navaja swiss champ Black. Excelente la descripción! 👌
Thanks for educating me on a few of these tools that were unfamiliar to me.
The small knife is for some small task so you don’t Dole your blade
Also good for controlled cuts where you don't need a long blade, such as whittling wood. I tend to use the smaller blade for opening packaging.

The notch at the end of the fish scaler is to retrieve a hook from a fish’s mouth
WVWeasel Image 17 of guide that he shows.
I use it like a fork too 🤩
I do a lot of camping. The hook works good as a togle.
Seiko skx ?
Absolutely, great watches!

She's a bit chunky, but so very very handy 👍
What you do with the opened kidney beans?
Plant them, grow giant bean stalk, steal the football shaped head Stewie Griffin goose's golden eggs.
Eat them.
Fuck them and eat them.
Cheers . Greetings from Edinburgh 😊
Yours came in a box! I thought that they only came in blister packs these days?

You’re welcome 👍🏾
Great review. This might be my next SAK. Take care.
I'm looking at champ plus.
Oh the XAVT is very useful actually.
An excellent and detailed review 👍
Don’t like the plastic housing for the magnifying glass
Them plyers would be perfect for bike repare
That them be.
This without the pliers and the fishscaler would be perfect.
ОЧЕНЬ ОТЛИЧНЫЙ ПЕРОЧИННЫЙ НОЖ!
All hail the King !
Excellent review!
Bought one of these quite recently for EDC & love it! Didn't get the eyeglass corkscrew screwdriver though. :-( Nice review.
Thanks, sorry to hear you missed out that, they only a few pounds to pick up and quite a useful thing to have.
Nice watch man😉
Good review 👍
Thanks!

Leatherman saws are better I will say.
