Mobile games has been doing this for years, players gambling 150,300 or even 1,000 dollars for 1 weapon skin, and the main problem the community and youtubers support this system and now they did it in pubg pc as well, these should be illegal

Good content. Activision at least appreciated the litigation risk or possibility that federal/state legislators would prohibit this type of gambling, because that's what it is. Yeah, $20 seems like a lot for a COD Warzone skin, but at least you know what you're buying and not risking anything. PUBG needs competent attorneys for its US operations so they don't get into litigation.
The thing about the painting analogy though is that you can sell the painting potentially for a profit later on. PUBG progressive skins can't be sold or traded and I feel like that's the biggest issue with these skins.
only thing with paintings is they can hold their value better and even increase where as an in game skin will likely decrease rapidly especially when the game dies.

Gaming was something else before, like most of people still play games for fun, not just for living. Because of crazy people who like to buy every in game skins etc... developers do not try to make new, different and better games. Just add more and more in game purchases. Easy money. Thats why i think game industry got stuck last couple of years.
My question to you is, has pubg every commented on why they think it's a good idea to make these skins so expensive. In what crazy deranged world did they sit around a table and think this was a great idea.
I don’t think wackyjacky is correct. It is nothing like buying a painting on paper. A painting has resale value. These skins, priced for thousands of dollars in a gambling mechanic are one time consumables. A better comparison is to say people pay thousands of dollars to eat at salt bae’s restaurant. I appreciate his honesty about everything else.
I started playing the game yesterday and i saved up those contraband coupons and opened the cyber threat case and got the progressive skin. I didn't know if i was super lucky and if it was a guaranteed thing since is was my first one i opened but after seeing this video i guess im just really lucky. It sucks to know that I will probably never max it out without spending money on it though.
I never thought that they'd bring gun skin like this in their main game this could only exist in PUBG mobile but now its in their actual game now, well the game is free to play now so I guess they gonna inject with lots of microtransaction and cosmetics even more.
If you notice this new gun skin upgrade scheme was inspired from the mobile version. it seems like their bringing more stuff like this in future pubg pc which will ruin the aesthetic.
Great start of the video (the talk about letting ppl buy what they want for their money)! And yes, the price for upgrading such a weapon is disgusting. I got the weapon and really want to upgrade it... but I don't think so.
I got this skin from the coupons I got from twitch prime gaming, guess I must have gotten extremely lucky. Too bad the skin isn't marketable, I'll not even use it so selling it would've been great, ah well.
It would be good to talk about paying for character skins and also unlock some of them through the battle pass that you paid and a month later The Pubg Krafton companie to replace them with other lower quality skin designs.
What a miserable monetization scheme. The fact that they want it to be confusing and unclear feels so nasty. I hope they can eventually figure out a way to make money in a way that feels alright to players.

@@shmack2836 cheaters aren't in every match.
Great video thanks for the heads up before I jumped into buying unnecessary crates
Might as well set the $1700 on fire
Man, you could have bought an entire Kraken in Star Citizen for that!
Anybody who thinks WackyJacky is 🧢ing, doesn’t know WackyJacky 😂😂
The funny part is after a long time of not playing pubg and coming back i had 10 tickets i open 1 of the packs and got it first try XD
You can buy this gun in real life for $1000. THATS INSANE!!!
you can get a nice pre-owned car for $1700
Nice my ass. Maybe 5,000. You'll be driving a high mileage junker for 1,700.
@@Round_Slinger probably airsoft lol no way a real one cost 1k$
@@Round_Slinger I don't live in the city!!! cars in the country are still cheep!!!
@@Round_Slinger You can find cars in good mechanical condition that have something really messed up on the exterior for 1500. Add $200 for repairs and even if it ain't perfect it'll get you around
@@47Nikola2142S2 A mk12 definetly costs more than 1k, but you can get some decent gun for that money anyways
i have thousands of hours in pubg .. and not a single upgradable weapon .. not even in base form .. that tell you a lot about the whole system ^^
Oh boy it all comes full circle
shyt it's not even my money and i feel a heavy pit in my stomach. I guess that pit is the feeling of knowing that some people fall into these traps. This is really really ridiculous!
Yup, my gearhead beryl skin is at lvl 6 and I'm at 600 bucks.
WJ, I appreciate your conclusion. Sad that some will fall into the addicted to gambling category. Keep up the great work!!!
I really would like to know how many chest did you open to get the raw rifle skin? And THX to this Video!! It shows one more the extreme gambling factor with this skins!
Gaming was something else before, like most of people still play games for fun, not just for living. Because of crazy people who like to buy every in game skins etc... developers do not try to make new, different and better games. Just add more and more in game purchases. Easy money. Thats why i think game industry got stuck last couple of years.
One can get a pretty nice modern sporting rifle IRL for that kind of money.
Absolute madness, to get one i would have to spend the ENTIRE TWO AND A HALF paychecks in Poland.
Maybe if they gave schematics in their battlepass it would balance out a lot
My question to you is, has pubg every commented on why they think it's a good idea to make these skins so expensive. In what crazy deranged world did they sit around a table and think this was a great idea.
The question is would you be able to bring this skin to PUBG2 when it comes out?
WJ just trying to justify splurging for some pixels lmaooo
1:47 - people buying NFTs
It's daylight robbery wacky, that's what it is.
Honestly I don’t play pc. But on mobile just to max my Godzilla AWM. I spent about 900 just for the skin. Some get lucky and some don’t.
Ludicrous unless you are a rich PUB streamer. That's a specific market.
Progressive skin is why they removed "text" killfeed option
Denmark must be some crazy expensive place compared to England, $800 for a set of ladders?, $1800 for a fridge!!!!!!!! Holy cow, what mad prices.
But if you upgraded it straight to lvl 10 would that cost you les then to do every lvl one by one?
What a miserable monetization scheme. The fact that they want it to be confusing and unclear feels so nasty. I hope they can eventually figure out a way to make money in a way that feels alright to players.
