This time, we shot at Schellenbaum's Kuroiso branch, a bakery in Nasu Kogen, a tourist destination in Tochigi Prefecture. In addition to bread, we also sell gelato, cakes, and rusks. Outside, there is a secret small room with stained glass imported from overseas, where you can relax with your family.

The Japanese bakery layout is fascinating to me, with customers choosing their own items and then checking out with the cashier. I think there are many reasons for this potentially being more profitable than having customers ask someone else for each item. It is unfortunate that where I live people have proven to be untrustworthy to practice sanitary habits like using the tongs, not touching the food or coughing/sneezing on it. Working in food service and the grocery industry in the US gave me an appalling insight into the dark side of human beings 🤣

Japanese treat bread like its some kind of weird food and they must try and make it less bread like as possible. To the rest of the world, its like white rice is to them. What they are making is pastries not bread.
