Well let me think Mr Genius... Well they did talk in a Hellenic/Greek dialect like Hellenes/Greeks did, and worship the same gods as Hellenes/Greeks. What else... oh yeah, they did claim ancestoral decent of Dorian heritage, like some Hellenes/Greeks did. Hmmm... they also had a Greek/Hellenic culture like Hellenes did. Gesh, what else... oh that’s right, they adamantly considered themselves Hellenic, like only Hellenes would. And they were able to participate in the Olympics, which was strictly for Hellenic men... so they were able to do that...
So with all that info, I guess they must be... what? Celts? Sythians? It so hard to tell!
Oh, but they were at war with the Athenians, who for geopolitical reasons labeled them non-Hellenic (mainly Demosthenes). No other polis besides Athens said they were Non-Hellenic, but let’s just trust, without any critical thought, that the Athenian politicians at the time were completely impartial and objective. And ignore everything that I mentioned at the beginning, because obviously all Barbarians normally worship Hellenic Gods, speak a Hellenic dialect, have a Hellenic Civilization and claim Hellenic ancestry. And obviously all Barbarians can complete in the strictly restricted Hellenic only Olympic Games...

@@johnnyjoestar5193 well, if Poland - Lithuania had colonies (and managed to keep them for some time), it would be maybe a much stronger state. Maybe it would avoid partitions and ever fall apart. Maybe it would be among strongest states in the world and Europe - France, UK, Russia and else were much stronger because of having colonies. Who knows how the history would have gone. Today, Poles, Lithuanians, Ruthenians and other PLC nations while travelling abroad would speak their language with people from different part of the world, just like Brits, Dutch, French, Spaniards, etc do. Polish - Lithuanian Commonwealth would maybe be alive today and it would be among the strongest economic powers in the world, not like today (where Poland is still far from Germany and UK).
I know, not having colonies means that there is no nation who hates you because your ancestors killed and enslaved his etc.
But then, who said it wouldn't be like with UK, with who Canada and Australia have rather good relations?

    A few mistakes I found:
-Greek at their largest was the Macedonian empire, not eastern Roman.
-The French empire in 1920 (after ww1) was bigger than napoleons empire that you showed.
-Latvia and Estonia used to be slightly bigger before they got annexed by the USSR
-You counted occcupied German territories as their territorial height but if that’s the case, Finland should be bigger at their height as they briefly captured parts of Russia during ww2 before being pushed back.
-The Iberian union was Spanish dominated, not Portuguese
-Belgium used to own Luxembourg for some time/personal union so in other words: they used to be bigger than they are today.
Denmark at their biggest should technically be the Kalmar union as they were the dominant power in that union
    Still good video tho :D

    Just pointing a few mistakes:
    1. Finland owned Petsamo in 1920s
    2. Estonia and Latvia lost some tiny pieces of land to Soviet revolutionaries back in the day, so they were bigger before 2018
    3. Russian Empire without Moldova? Not even a vassal? Dude...
    4. Yeah sure, Portugal is the Iberian union, but Spain is just the Spanish Empire, of course
    5. If year at it's largest means just territory land mass, then France would have neen bigger in 1939, when they owned a big chunk of Africa. But if by "bigger" we mean the land that really matters, then Austria was bigger in 1914
    6. -Feudal Hungary used to own Naples (half of Italy basically)- (not exactly, my bad)
    7. Since you also count unions, Denmark was much bigger when the Kalmar Union was still around. Like, you know, all of Scandinavia.
    8. When showing Germany, Denmark isn't shown as occupied territory, and Slovakia isn't shown as a puppet
Also, Crimea isn't shown as occupied during ww2
    9. As for Moldova , their biggest size was when they proclaimed the "United Provinces of Wallachia and Moldavia, something close to the Crimean War, I can't remember the year
    10. At it's biggest extent, Russia owned the eastern part of Trebizond, If I'm not mistaken
    11. Belgium was bigger before 2018, when they had their -rubber extraction concentration camp- Kongo colony
    12. Bits of desert in Syria and Iraq are not shown as Ottoman clay
The list keeps growing from the comments

Belgium, Britain, France, Holland, Portugal or Spain (possibly the Kingdom of Italy, but of course no one want's to see that.)? These should not have to particularly be in Europe,.. A "few" inaccuracies ? A "few" ? This video basically starts with an inaccuracy - Austrian Empire wasn't at it's largest in 1801 because:
      A) it didn't even exist before 1804
      B) it owned all the provinces shown in the video and additionally parts of Northern Italy (Lombardy and Venezia regions) in the 1815-1859 period.
And the vidoe doesn't get much better later. To several omissions add the silly mixing of very short term war occupations with actual ownership. Short term war occupation that somehow count for Germany during WW2 but not for others ? How is that consistent or logical ? And end it all with the really silly pairing of modern Italy with Roman Empire.
This video is ridiculously bad as far as historical education goes. Or silly if you look at it as a joke).

2:58 Truly Italy, during the Roman Empire, came to occupy a slightly larger territory at its highest level of expansion: add to the map all Great Britain except Hibernia (Ireland) and Caledonia (Scotland), and to the east it expanded across the Ponto Eusino (Black Sea) coast, completely occupying the Crimea, and then even Georgia, until it touches the shores of the Caspian Sea.

@@dgsf9444 Yes, I'm historian. (Didn't expect this, yeah?) And I can tell you why Ukraine has no connection to Rus'. Because do you know what city was the first capital of Rus'? Novgorod! Rurik came to Novgorod, not Kiev and became the first ruler of Rus'. Kiev even wasn't the part of Rus' at that time. And Only after Ruriks death and Oleg had become the ruler of Rus' he took Kiev under control and called Kiev the new capital of Rus'. So, as you can see, Ukraine has no connection to Rus' and actually was largest at 2013
