Aider + Zed AI as Cursor Alternative: Setup and First Impressions

    ai seems to work fine. UX needs miles of work, I just dont see the ai (Aider) in the terminal being a good UX. Full IDE integration like Cursor is so much more intuitive

      Yeah, it is def pretty fiddly I much prefer Cursor, but been using Trae this week..did you see that? I find Trae better than Cursor for the UI, and it has free Sonnet atm
      The main worry I've seen is about Trae/Bytedance is they can access and use your project's code - but I thought the same about Cursor in the beginning 🤔

      Trae for me is so much more dumb it fails so much to run commands I end up just doing them in the terminal it don't understand the code base at all it finds it so had to make updates like you said it's in the early days hope it gets better

      ​@ totally agree, I used Trae for nearly a week and it kept forgetting the context of the same chat, nevermind the entire codebase - I found i kept having to attach the same files like in aider
      Trae seemed great I opened it, but after about an hour I found it like a toy version of Cursor..early days!
