In my opinion, and just from my personal experiences I’ve tend to realize that if you try to get more speed and jump further on your off the dribble attempts it actually makes it easier and looks even more insane.

You always make me feel like I can dunk and I’m only 5’6”. I have a horrible jumping technique and I can still grab the rim. You think I’ll dunk if if fix my technique? Link for the video - 5’6” grabbing the rim on 10 feet with a bad technique.

Great Video man, def agree, I watched your videos and Yes Andy's Video def inspired me that dunking was possible. I tried this journey 10 years ago, youtube was still new there was a french dude that was slamming it down at 5'10 he was inspiring too, but with not much content other than his I doubted myself, 10 years later im all in, Thanks for videos.

Man when I decided that I wanted to dunk at about 13 you were the first person that I found on youtube and I think I've watched every video of yours since then. I started out only touching backboard and about 5'9", now I'm 16, 6'4", got myself a 37 inch vertical, and so freaking close to hitting an eastbay. Thank you for all the motivation and inspiration that has helped me to push for my goals 🙏.

Please give a response. I’m like 5’10. And I box jump. And off standing vert I can box jump a 24’ & 18’ which is 42inches. (And I know that if I’m running it would be higher.. also I like to jump off 2) But I can only grab rim. Can you tell me reasons why I might not be able to dunk?

This explanation makes a lot of sense to me. I’ve had a lot of blocks in my life but I’ve always done what I needed to do to get past them. Depending where I was before a setback(injury, life) I would always be able to get back and surpass where I was. I think knowing that I’ve done something before makes it a lot easier to get back to it.

100%!!! All of my injuries have been teachers! I’ve learned about in
balances in my body, weaknesses that I got strong and built upon, and even patience! An invaluable skill that is used often!

I’m at a different stage of life. Age 55. Height 5’10”. I could easily get off the floor in High School. Haven’t played serious ball for 30 plus years until the last 30 days. Hired a former pro ball player as a trainer. How many under 6ft, age 50+ dunkers have you seen? I’m not there yet. I have a long journey ahead, but I have the mindset. I also have my prior jumping ability to motivate me, but I’m a lot older. Age is a bigger block than much of what you listed, but I’m not letting it slow me down. Thoughts?

      LOVE THIS!!! few thoughts!
      - Don't think i've seen any besides Andy Nicholson i mentioned in this video
      - It's a goal i've thought about that brought patience to my journey. Instead oof thinking i need to max my prime, maybe my 'purpose' will manifest in other ways. which leads me to my last thought
      - That is a huge 'block' but the experience can express so much about you!! A huge key i didn't mention in specifically in this video is 🔑Joy ALONG the Journey🔑. Often we chase achievements to experience joy or fulfillment but it's best to feel that energy along the way! So if it's filling you with positive juice to attempt it i say go for it!! I'd love to hear more and follow your journey!!
Really appreciate the thoughtful comment! 🙏🏼⚡️❤️

Thanks for the long, detailed reply. It has been interesting looking for dunkers over 50 on RUclips which is almost non existent. The nice thing is that I’m more patient about this journey. My jumping has increased in under 30 days. I’m in no rush to get there. I don’t turn 56 until November, so I’m curious where I’ll be by then. I’m enjoying the journey and getting in much better shape along the way. I will stay in touch. Expect an email. Thanks again.
