    Funny thing about learning to skate by yourself for many years is that you don't actually know there's a "name" for the tricks you somehow learnt along the way 😅
    I find this the best way to stop for low to medium speeds as it is low impact and wears the wheels evenly. T-stops and power stops causes flat spots

      I mean I use the spin stop, plow stop and T stop regularly. I don’t use the heel stop because I took the heel brake off my skates because it got in the way when doing cross overs. I’m currently trying to master the jump stop, but I need to get comfortable leaving the ground🤣. I can do a basic front jump over objects, but I still feel like my balance could be better. I guess that’s part of learning

      Try keeping your weight on both heels while spinning and lean slight more forward

    Hi Daniel! Thanks for the great videos and great tips on mastering the spread-eagle spinout. I can probably already do this, but I want to be sure my techniques are good and consistent.
    Just so you know, one of your videos on beginner exercises at a skate park helped inspire me to practice at our local skate park. This past Friday, I successfully dropped in off of a short bank for the first time! I was working on overcoming my fear and improving my braking - both with success. Part of that is due to your videos, so vielen Dank!
    Anyway, I just wanted to say that using the side of a grind box to practice and leaning in during the spinout sound like excellent ideas. I did fall backward Friday because I was practicing short jumps but started by not leaning forward enough to maintain my balance. After that, I leaned forward more and was fine. I think that sometimes, newer skaters like me think we are leaning forward enough when sometimes we are not. So, I appreciate the reminder to lean in and really have those knees over our toes.
    Cheers from the United States! = D

      Hi Lynda,
      this is just awesome! Thanks a bunch for sharing your progress with me (or us). It's very nice to hear my videos help for different situations and tricks. 🙏😇🙏
      Yes you're right, leaning against a grind box, a lower wall or others can be very helpful for learning the spread eagle. I already use this idea during my courses on-site. Another very helpful movement to avoid falling backwards is putting the hands right above the knees / thighs. 🙏🙂✌
      Cheers from Germany

    Are those padded pants you are wearing? I'm wondering about the best protective combo for cooler weather. When I put my knee pads over track pants it causes very sweaty knees! I was considering my kevlar motorcycling pants... Anyone else's advice welcome also. Love all your videos Daniel, thank you! 🙏😊

    Hey, so I am extremely comfortable with eagle, even with slalom an crisscross.
    I have seen some old rollerskating (quad) videos where people skate bowls and halfpipes in an eagle position. I tried it on inlineskates and it seems to generally work, even though I only practiced it one time.
    Do you know if there are inlineskaters doing this? If not, why not?
    (Some quadskater I asked about it told me that it makes carving the bowl and hitting the lip easier)

    When I try it I just end up doing a 180, so a half circle turn. My back leg does what it’s supposed to. But my front leg stops moving forward and just… stops. Which causes me to only turn 180. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Maybe need more weight on the front leg.

    • @zhangwei525
      @zhangwei525 2 года назад

      I have the same issue with Lexathorn. my back leg spin is fine. I think something wrong with my front leg which stop the whole spin. So I can do it 180 degrees and stop. I can't make it 360. Anyone know the reason and how can we turn 360?

    • @endrehalasz
      @endrehalasz 2 года назад +1

      @@zhangwei525 You simply have to practice. The key is to find the proper balance, to equalize your weight bw both of your legs and to teach the back-rolling leg's ancle to follow the other leg on the same circular path. Usually a person is either left or right legged. If you are right-legged than it is easier for you to lead w right leg in spread eagle and your left leg is the one, turned to roll backwards. As you trust more in your right leg, you might put more weight on that, it slows you down. In the same time you do not have enough weight on your left leg (it sould be on your left ancle!) to follow. A good excersize to practice: take off your skates and try to hold the spread eagle position barefoot. Lift your right ancle and left toe and hold. Then change it. Its not that easy at first!
