When I was young, this was a very big hit in the Philippines. I have been looking for this song for a long time. It has a deeper meaning for me and I do not know why. Perhaps the melody and the lyrics...
Hi Teddy...You gave us wonderful entertainment at Freddy's' Top of Hill in Bakersfield, Ca. I loved you and your wife when you performed the Hawaiian Wedding Song.
6 Sept 2022 Tue 1305 Aloha E to All, YES Teddi & Nanci TANAKA, one of MANY Hawai'i's gift to the world. Towards the later years of Teddy's life, I worked with him. He and his wife Nanci had become very devout Christians, singing for Our Lord, Jesus Christ. I had a still have a Christian ministry, called "You've Got A Friend Ministries" and that is how we met and done some things together. LOVE THE COUPLE, RIP Brother Teddy. Keep your eyes on my mansion up there, Brother Teddy, Bruddah lary (Larry A. Rutkowski) of Hillo, HAWAI'I.
Our 45, I think is the Orange/Redish and Yellow "Chi" looking. Though we Might have this one also. lol. Been so long since we actually played our 45's and 33's. I think the last time was in the early 90's before "Vinyl" was pushed to the side by CD's.
When was this song ever a hit. Was it only in Hawaii or in mainland? I researched billboard 1961, 62, 63 but turned up nothing. I like the song and his recording though. I'm researching Asian-American roots music, along with Sukiyaki.
