Man, can't believe I'm 20 now, this really takes me back to simple times, such a raw opening, love Asian kung-fu generation.
Tho I must admit I wish they gave the side characters as good screen time as they did these times like gate Lee vs Garaa and so on, something shippuden lacked but ah well, Boku no hero do it well.
Same boat as you bro I remember first watching Naruto when I was 9. it was on a Canadian broadcasting station called ytv they had a anime only television block on at 10pm-4am on Fridays (like toonami) and I would always stay caught up with Naruto but they never had all the episodes, once it reached the near the middle of the Sasuke retrieval arc they would restart, then in like the 10th grade I decided to watch the Naruto and shippuden cause I wanted to know what happened and I've been caught up watching the show every week since then
I was 5 when I first watched Naruto I'm bout to be 21 time really flies

This opening is so iconic, especially with the arc it's paired with. When you get that right, with the writing, the action sequences, the suspense, the plot twists, you really do have something memorable on your hands in the best way possible. WatchMojo really takes the words right out of my mouth, "It's difficult to quantify what makes this opening so great...but we're gonna try. The visuals begin with images of Naruto, his teammates, and their teacher. We are also treated to action beats and foreshadowed plot points. The song meanwhile has a tone and lyrics indicative of angry youth, the desire to kick things up a notch and prove one's self. This fits perfectly as a theme for the arc, which was all about the young ninjas demonstrating their skills, and also this is when Naruto really took off." It's very hard for me to narrow down the number one best theme (for reference, they have this one as their number one), and I have it down to my top 5. But if I had to pick one that really encapsulates what Naruto should be about at its best and in essence, it would have to be this one.
This one and blue bird from shippuden have that effect. The first ending was always my favorite song in the series tho

this opening is one of my favorites because every single shot looks so damn cool, so many of the side characters get rrally cool bits of animation that make you feel like theyre also as cool as the protagonists, too bad they never feel as important later

Naruto’s first series was absolute gold. The whole world was perfectly build up, power levels were well stablished, ninja strategies where often used in fights and even tools played a role from time to time. Shippuden also used some of those concepts to an extent until after the pain arc, everything after that gave the series a 180 turn that we’ll never come back from.
Wow I highly appreciate finding this comment on here. I was also very bummed out after that point. I’m a Narusaku fan by the way. I’m not a pushy person. I would never force people to go one way or the other. Anyways it’s refreshing to hear from someone else who wasn’t as invested at that turning point in the series!
The only opening I didn't skip a single time. Most Naruto OPs were bangers, but this is the best by far.
I love Ramen Man, my favorite anime.

Other than the music effortlessly matching the opening visuals. The nostalgia hits so hard because I just think of simpler times of being 11 watching toonami and waiting a week to watch a “new” episode not knowing I could watch ahead with subtitles. I always loved to the fact I was basically the same age at that time as the main characters. I’m 23 now and wow this was a huge part of my childhood.

My first anime ever. 700+ episodes including Part 1 and Shippuden. When you complete it, it seems that the only words you can say is thank you. Fantastic theme song! This one gives me such strong chills! Especially with Gaara and Orochimaru getting teased. I loved Gaara’s character development. He made a badass villain at first but he also became a wonderful friend over time. The flow of the lyrics in this music is terrific!

2021 and I still find myself coming back to this intro. It just hits differently then all other intros. This was back when we didn't really know what was gunna happen. The whole atmosphere of naruto at this time was at its peak. So many feels and so many memories. Rest in piece kurama.

The Chunin Exam was probably my favorite arc. It introduced literally a dozen new characters, all with hitherto unknown abilities. The reveal of what all these characters could do was super creative an fun.
Oh the nostalgia.. To go back and watch naruto over again. Times were good then.
Crunchyroll is running out of options for video ideas so they thought to kill us with nostalgia and repost Naruto Themes.
Double checked before I posted: There's a version of this intro where Rock Lee rotates instead of zooming in. Legit thought I was going crazy because my first watch of the series was with Zooming In Rock Lee. I rewatched the openings and saw Rotating Rock Lee. Good to know I'm still semi sane

When i was watching this as a 10 years old kid. I invested my feelings, I was traumatized when they where so helpless and Orochimaru put a curse mark to Sasuke. Betrayal of Kabuto. Still I consider Naruto as one of my core memory..

SRA had some great fights, but Chunin exam had THE best fights. Garra and Lee. Naruto and Neji. Sasuke and Garra. NARUTO AND GARRA. And my all time favorite, Hiruzen vs Orochimaru. The choreography of that fight was impeccable.
