Actually Megaphone was Megahorn's beta name. Also Mindy's Haunter is holding an Everstone as a coverup. Turns out, In-Game Trades in Gen 4 do not trigger evolutions. People have tried to put Kadabra in place of Haunter to test it (since Kadabra in gen 4 could evolve while holding an Everstone), and they have tried to remove the everstone altogether in attempts to have the pokemon recieved evolve, and the game just straight up won't trigger evolution via In-Game Trade. This is a huge oversight of Gen 4 that a lot of Gen 4 rom hackers know about that for some reason people just ignore and pretend it doesn't exist, when we know it's there. Gamefreak didn't do it cause they wanted to troll you, they wanted to hide the fact that they somehow broke In-Game Trades in Gen 4.
Is this true? Do you have a link where it is confirmed in the game's coding? It's the first time I'm reading this explanation and it's absolutely hilarious!
I'm imagining the Megahorn thing was still a mistake. In Japanese, Megahorn is written just as it is in English, メガホーン (lit. "Megahōn") with the obvious difference that there is no "r" as they don't really have one. If I removed that second "o" sound to make it メガホン, it's now identical to the Japanese word for a megaphone. Whether they missed the extra vowel sound in the first draft of the translation or the actual Japanese I can't say, but it's likely a language error due to those words being so close and the intent was always to have it be Megahorn.
Indy is hated while S and V's Blossom is actually liked, as the Haunter she trades you for a Pincurhin actually evolves, and the pokemon you need to trade is literally a few hundred meters away

I am *SICK* of modern games making the Apricorn Balls (although this also applies to the Beast Ball and Dream Ball) so needlessly difficult to reliably obntain. There's no reason for it, especially when the balls in question are admittedly a lot more niche and less reliable in actual usefulness than their easier to obtain alternatives. If the player is actually going out of their way to obtain and use them to try to catch Pokémon, it's more than likely for aesthetic purposes. Just let the player use whatever type of Poké Ball they want to catch their favorite Pokémon in without having to spend potential hours grinding or soft resetting just to get a single ball!
In BDSP, in patch 1.1.1, the Berry Master's wife will use the same dialogue as in DPPt, where she sold "mulch" instead of berries. It was changed by the 1.3.0 patch to talk about berries.
Here’s one: If you trade a Kadabra holding an Everstone in most instalments, it’ll _still_ evolve into Alakazam; this may be due to the Uri Geller controversy rather than as an actual oversight (the same reason there were no new Kadabra cards in the TCG for years), but still worth mentioning.
7:21 The mistranslation specifically comes from *Japanese Blue,* which functioned as a deluxe version with a completely different set of trades (international Red & Blue feature the same in-game trades as the ones in Red & Green: Raichu for Electrode, Abra for Mr. Mime, common Nido for uncommon Nido, etc.) Basically, the international games used the *script & updates* from JP Blue and the *original trades* from Red & Green but the localizers failed to *double-check* the dialogue of these two NPCs (since JP Blue had a unique set of trades including Machoke for Haunter & Kadabra for Graveler.) In FRLG, their dialogue is an approximate translation of what they originally said in Red & Green, something like *"Has the Jynx/Electrode I traded you grown any stronger?"*
Here's a slightly more obscure but easy to replicate mistake: In Pokemon Black and White, if you save on top of the ladder of the bookshelf that moves to reveal Lenora's secret location in the normal type gym, then quit, when you load back in you can read the bookshelf from the top of the stairs even though it's no longer in that position. As far as I know, this only works when you start up your game in that exact spot.
