You needn't to go through customs while during transit. Customs area only for those whos enter korea as visitors etc.

Question: Technically speaking, does this mean that if you only carry hand luggage and don’t have a check-in luggage, then you don’t need to pass through the immigration? I’m planning to buy separate tickets from different airline companies but not sure about the self-transfer. You know, I don’t want to be quarantined in Korea, so expensive! Please educate me. @@winsoncheong2025 hey I just had my flight today, idk if you already had yours but I was able to transfer and get on my gate in about an hour (i did have to run tho lol, and also when I arrive at the shuttle area the train was already there so i had no wait times)
