I live in Ukraine and became an Indiana Fever fan because of Caitlin Clark. It's been a rough start to the season, but I've really enjoyed watching the evolution of the Clark at the professional level and seeing how the team is beginning to play together in real time. I've also fallen in love with Temi Fagbenle who's representing us European fans. Can't wait to have her back on the court. Best luck for the rest of the season and getting a playoff bid. Either way the future is bright.

Ok, if no one else is going to say it, I will. Never, never ever tell the reporters what was said in a private text with your players. Caitlin has the biggest target on her back in the WNBA. And what does Sides do, tells the reporters that Caitlin said in a PRIVATE TEXT, that they woke the monster. Result, Sides just placed a bigger target on her back. Either she is really stupid, or she wanted to put the bigger target there. Oh, and teach Mitchell how to pass the ball.
100% I was astounded that Sides would do such an awful thing! But Caitlin is smart and now knows who Sides is and that Sides cannot be trusted. She will expect that the things she communicates to Sides will be told to the media.
On the other hand, we don't really know what communication transpired between them. Coach Sides may have asked permission before making a public comment. Regardless, I doubt Caitlin has any issue with it.

Sides would never have DARED do angel Reese that way, the player she wanted at #1. She wants Clark gone by any means necessary and Dunn has her back. Ownership needs to step in yet again and end this clown show.
The only "process" to believe in is one that wins. I know it's early, but it's hard to see it working. I do believe Lisa Bluder understood that if you build a team that lets Caitlin be Caitlin, you're going to win a lot more than you lose. Whether she has the right coach and teammates to do that is hopefully a question that will be answered sooner rather than later. Whatever the process is, I hope it includes setting better screens, finding and making open shots, playing consistently good defense, and being a team where every player is willing to do whatever necessary to win. Ok, here's my 2 cents, I'm Canadian and have never watched a Basketball game in my life, heck I don't even know the rules. But I am a hockey fan, and let me explain why the two sports are similar. When a star rookie is drafted, the organization surrounds that rookie with players that will protect them and help elevate their games. True, other teams will go after the opposing team's rookies with a vengeance, and that's where the strong physical players (enforcer) kick in and make all made hard fouls on their star players pay a price for physically attacking their teammates. Caitlin Clark has absolutely captured my attention and I just now started watching the WNBA, not the NBA mind you, but really the WNBA. And what I have noticed as compared to men's hockey, the WNBA players on her own team, don't support her, and that's out of pure jealousy and spite. The GM of the Fever team has tough decisions ahead if they want to build this team and raise in the rankings. In hockey, men are not petty, they know their roles and they execute them. When The Great One Wayne Gretzky started his rookie years, he was quickly roughed up, so the edmonton GM, made changes and hired hockey players that could give room to Gretzky to do his thing, Gretzky ruled the ice and broke all records, because he had not only good players to feed him the puck, but also enforcers to protect him and he gave Edmonton Oilers multiple Stanley Cups right off the bat. The Indiana Fever organization needs to do the same, get players that will set their petty jealousy and envy aside and decide what's more important, winning games or putting minimum amount of efforts to have their best player do her thing. She needs good players that will feed her the ball to make plays and enforcers to protect her. If two or three players on the opposing team are getting extremely physical against CC, then those players need to be met on the floor by tough physical players and make them pay for every hard foul on their star player, which is CC. The first thing to change for the Indiana Fever, is the coach. From what I've seen so far, she's ruining CC's career as rookie star player. The GM needs to hire a coach that can coach effort and build an offense around their star player, get great play makers that will feed the ball to CC, and hire 2-3 strong physical players to protect her, to give her the room she needs to make baskets. Screw the bs about the Olympics, let CC get some rest, and in the meantime, the GM needs to make bold moves. Fortune favors the bold. If the GM surrounds CC with players with the right attitudes and will to win even if CC makes the majority of the points, it doesn't matter. A team wins as a team, but only if the players accept to play the roles they were hire to do. Let CC be the 30 average points a game she can be. Let her loose and give her the right tools to shatter records and become the great one of the WNBA. The rest of her teammates will benefit from it in the long run. And so will the WNBA.
Respectfully, I 100% disagree. CC is still learning and growing, and should be able to lean on vets for mentorship. Maybe she is a leader on the court, but I don’t think it’s fair to expect that of her off the court.

No coach of mine from 5 years old to collegiate level EVERY used humiliation tactic to motivate us! When you watch vids like these you feel like the people around the team seems to "get it", but in actual games, you don't see it translate. A lot of missed layups and open shots, butterfingers, not boxing out, uneducated substitutions etc. This team needs to get a new coach and makes some trades to actually be a contender.
Great video. Society seems to be stuck in an instant gratification mindset. I agree with Dunn and Sides. Give the Fever time to grow as a team. Also people need to stop putting undo pressure on Caitlin. It’s getting to the point of ridiculousness.
I am not trying to be argumentative by any means but really think that they have immediate needs that have to be addressed for incoming players. This roster again next year will need quite a boost under the paint, and not with another rookie but a seasoned traded player or overseas player with height and competitive skill at rebounds/baskets, transferring a lot of the turnovers into points.
I noticed on the roster that forwards Dantas, Saxton, and Boston are under contract until the ‘25/‘26 season. Wheeler’s contract expires in 2024. Wondering if Wheeler can be replaced with a tall center/forward. Seems as if this would widen the base strength under the paint and bring in “fresh legs” for healthy rotation. Being “patient with the process “ may be wishful thinking but in this league, with players emerging from retirement and other teams hungry for success, nobody else is lax on getting an effective nucleus on the floor. Seems from this that this year is what it is in terms of players but I hope hard negotiations are done in the near future. Where success breeds success with other teams, Fever at least need to stand ground with 50 % of the teams and then climb the ladder. Really not a lot of time to be “patient” anymore…unless winning records are not a heavy concern. 🙁 Fans, and especially newbie fans love the Fever and want to enjoy the journey look ahead🏀🏀

Mitchell is a bucket BUT does not pass and plays like a 2K myplayer and AB and Wallace miss OPEN lay ups alot and AB for some reason CAN NOT set a screen to save her life CC had no middy shot and can't go right and shoot and Coach Sides having the Fever play a 2-3 zone at this lv vs the Suns leaving their BEST shooter open over and over is mind boggling.. I have to question is she trying to get fired? it's the equivalent of having curry run post plays and not 3 pts shots... I'm a CC fan but I'm honest and this is What I see....
How about making sure your coach knows how to design offensive plays, or teach the girls how to set a screen and open up the court for your best player to run the offense? I’ve never seen a more poorly run team..

Terrible GM. This team is so poorly constructed; anyone that is being honest with themselves sees this.
Be patient. By year 3. This team will be in a great place.
Coach is underqualified and losing too many games. Some players seem scared to shoot and out of shape.
