The problem is that D low is not nearly good enough to compete at this point, and he will just ruin his reputation is he compete. Only person that could come back and win again is Codfish
Before every battle Scott Jackson would beatbox to both mics and ask both judges and competitors if they are happy with the mic levels. They are both equal or as close to equal you can get, so Remix was just way louder.
You sure it's nothing about the mic? Just came from the Helium vs Osis battle and for some reason Helium's inward bass sounded so flat and quiet, it's so weird
@DimaQxt That was because Heliums inward is a different pitch that comes out on speaker and post production differently, or also may have just not came out on mic. Recently, Helium has been experimenting with non-vocalized inward bass and it's very powerful
My biggest problem with remix is that he refuses to let the beat breathe and rest. His drops would be so much more effective if he would calm his fillers down a little.
That speaks a lot towards remix and his stage presence. It was likely his taunting throughout Ice's first round made him forget his second round Remix is going to kill it next year
Dan if you make a GBB25 wildcard, it will not only make my year by January, but it will do so much good for the beatbox scene - we need that BATTLE energy back
Information:- Guys let me tell you a thing, we can say that this is the reason why abo ice lost this match. So basically after the battle Remix and Abo Ice met backstage and begin to talk and ice told remix that he completely forgot his second round's track, it could be cause he got nervous after Remix's Second round, Yea that's it. (It is all real, i didn't made anything from myself)
Yeah I was reading that in the comments of the original video. That sucks that Ice forgot his second round. I would love for him to make a video showing what it would have been, and then we could kind of think about if it would have pulled him through this battle, or if Remix still would have won.
i know but why didnt he use another routine he has prepared for the semi finals and the final ? he would have time to remember the routine after the battle
Honestly this information is a W for remix. He likely forgot his second round because of the taunting that remix was doing throughout his first round. And how amazing remixes rounds were
We need more people in the community to be as professional as you at judging and analyzing battles, we have good beatboxers but very few good judges in the scene
Those were 2 of the best rounds I've heard from Remix yet. His style is so easily digestible yet it has all the complexities, nuance, and intricacies that you come to expect from high skill level artists. This was a great battle!
I think that subconciously the person with the red light (remix) has more energy in their round just by result of the color of the lights. I know it sounds silly but it's a studied thing about the subtle effects of color on your mode and blue makes you feel at ease and sleepy compared to red.
Remix sounds much more pleasant to the ear, just because of that I'd give him the win. My issue with Ice is his sounds although unique have a keen aspect to them, kind of like having to get used to them to enjoy, whereas Remix sounds are naturally appealing.
I tend to agree with your comments about mic loudness from the past couple of videos. Like you say sharing a mic would solve that. Otherwise, two microphones into the same limiter would set them both to the same peak loudness!
Happy New Year! I would love to see a reaction from you to River's new song Premonition. I think it deserves a reaction. I love the tune and production.
Yo D-low! Have you thought about reacting to crowd POV videos of these battles? The quality isn't great but the "feel" of what it was being there is as close as you get from a screen, such as how loud it felt, you can hear this with the Julard battles, especially. Sure, there might be copyrights issues involved but if it can be done then why not, just a suggestion from a fellow audiophile!
I was there live! Remix definitely took this, couldn’t tell the sound difference actually though…Ice just posted on Instagram that he was really pushing his sounds to get across on mic though so maybe there’s something to that! Totally mental counter from Ice on the 2nd round
i thought 11:24 was an insane counter too, ppl saying it was bad probably arent aware that theres more than one variation of inward bass. ice is doing the more default chest-bassy one. It used to be a part of his soundkit back then in the online battles either way the overlying patterns especially are what made the counter so good
idk man usually countering something means you have to either do it on par to the person being countered or better than them. Clearly Abo’s texture is not as refined as remix’s, though he added his own cool twist, he can’t bring out the bass as much as remix’s could, that’s like attempting to counter napom with liprolls or codfish with throat bass
@@snoopyr1953 It was a decent counter overall, but you can clearly hear that his inward hits way softer than Remix inward. Doesn't matter that's it a different variation.
@@oxygencat6383 Abo's inward bass wasn't less refined, it was a different variation. It's the more default texture that was popular in 2015-2016. And clearly it was still effective because he added his own tweaks to the technique with the triplets and the kicks at the start to make the bass more impactful. And especially judging by the crowd's response, it was a great counter IMO
Holy shit it has been a looong time that beatboxing has impressed me so much just listen to the „drum“ rythm with the squeaks it goes sooooo hard omg 10:30
Holyyyyyy Remix crushed this battle and that’s awesome for him. Even I also consider myself more of a fan of Ice’s style but Remix’s energy was undeniable! I lowkey believe that Remix could’ve won this entire GBB if all of his rounds were on this level, he could’ve stopped Julard’s power with these energetic beats too
honestly... can anyone not in the beatbox scene even understand what's going on? i've been following this stuff for years and even i had a little trouble understanding everything. Thanks to your explanations it was easier but still hard to understand everything lol. Great video as always, keep up the good work
i was there, second round the crowd had barely any reaction to ice’s beats. i was routing for remix but after watching ice’s elim something is wrong with the mic
WOW remix reallyy wanted to win that battle! I feel like ice just freestyled on both rounds he didnt do much. We all know he had so much more up his sleeve. The counter is insane though
I don't need anything for the new year. D-Low GBB2025 Wildcard and I can rest in peace 🙀
FRFR
I asked him on stream 1 year ago. He said he won't participate in GBB2024 but he probably will in GBB2025. He said its still not over for him.
++++
OH MY GORSH PLEASE!!! I would die happy
The problem is that D low is not nearly good enough to compete at this point, and he will just ruin his reputation is he compete. Only person that could come back and win again is Codfish
I was at the venue live and the mic levels were same for both of them, remix's lows were wayy loweder and ice's high white noises were insanely loud
Thank you very much for this! its important to know
Bro who is the champion?
Julard@snactch9696
@snactch9696Sorry if it gets spoiled for anyone, Julard won the thing
I was there too but I actually felt like the audio system was not as loud as the elims. Maybe it was just me but idk.
Before every battle Scott Jackson would beatbox to both mics and ask both judges and competitors if they are happy with the mic levels. They are both equal or as close to equal you can get, so Remix was just way louder.
Yeah i saw it
can vouch for this too, was there at the event. They did that for all battles
Stitch said the mic used by Ice is a little quiet compared to remix
For some reason I remembered that only happening with the later battles
@@ferdian.j But if Ice did not say that/complain about that during the mic check, then it's Ice's fault at that point.
Remix absolutely smashed it. It is also quite inspirational to see his journey through the years and finally hitting it live on stages.
What did he do before this
@@amaan7028he started beatboxing on Omegle and doing mainly online battles as well.

there was no mic level problem. his inward bass just wasn't as heavy as remix's. It was a great idea but didn't come through.
But the complexity of the patterns on top of the bass 😳
You sure it's nothing about the mic? Just came from the Helium vs Osis battle and for some reason Helium's inward bass sounded so flat and quiet, it's so weird

Kinda true honestly. Bro goes for a minute and a half straight everytime. Although I like how he flows right into a drop
yeah and he knows that, he is now practicing it after ggb
yeah those tkk fillers he does are so obnoxious to the ears lol
nah fr
@@snoopyr1953 not really
I'm so happy how good is the audio now. The battle vibe is so immersive.
too much bass tho
I'll be adding "dirty hound" to my compliment list next to "yucky piggy" for 2025.
Happy new year everyone, much love.
when'd dlow say yucky piggy? 🙏😭

In my opinion, when D-low tries to imitate the patterns and the sounds that he listens to, he often does it better and it always blows my mind man :D
Didn't expect them to upload this early, this doesn't happen every year 😂❤

Yeah, and the quality of the audio was bad, 2023 gbb had better audio
Dlow just casually mimicking sounds

yoo we back happy new yrs
This battle was like watching a dance between fire and ice. This was madness.
I think that subconciously the person with the red light (remix) has more energy in their round just by result of the color of the lights. I know it sounds silly but it's a studied thing about the subtle effects of color on your mode and blue makes you feel at ease and sleepy compared to red.
Yea they didn’t need to make that a thing😂
it feels redundant to do it as well, because they say "red for competitor A, blue for competitor B" anyway.
pretty sure this is a thing in psychology
16:50 we just neeeed this insane battle mind in gbb25
Best first round against ABO with his agressive style and crazy sounds perfect round to come for his neck right away
16:50 that's the dog in dlow's head talking again
Could you imagine if he did that tho?
In the venue the sound levels seemed comparable. Remix just had better control over the sound system
11:20 Dlow's laugh was also on time 🔥🔥🔥
It’s fire too
Dlow 2025 wildcard will be the year for it! come on Dan we really need that!
I love Ice but I have been following Remix in recent years and it made me very happy see him win

Just as Dlow asked ICe if he was nervous this year as compare to 2023, and that nervousness we can clearly see in this battle.
I tend to agree with your comments about mic loudness from the past couple of videos. Like you say sharing a mic would solve that. Otherwise, two microphones into the same limiter would set them both to the same peak loudness!
the thing about ice's 2nd round is that he forgot his round after countering, same happened in the small final last year, shame 😭

REACT TO DILIP AUSTIA JUDGE SHOWCASE... IT'S CRAZY...
Just saw it was incredible
Remix is an absolute beast! Amazing battle
It kinda sounds like Ice is using chest bass instead of inward in his counter to be honest
During the quarter finals the volume the volume wasn’t equal that’s why in semis they used only one microphone

Having the entire crowd say goodbye is a kill shot. Jesus
Remix is like berserker in modern era, but with absolute control and it makes him so strong in battle.

I feel Zekka vs Remix prepared Remix for Ice, Its almost like the 'Battle Energy' was Remixes 100% where its normally the other way around
Congratulations remix love that you! Well deserved!
