edit: had a few people asking me about spaghetti western and unforgiven so i thought i’d clarify! it’s basically just the genre that encompasses music from movies that fall under the comboy/western movie umbrella! unforgiven is heavily inspired by the sound of soundtracks for spaghetti western movies, and even samples one (the good, the bad and the ugly) which makes it spaghetti western (the music genre)! sorry that the video is late
I have no skills distinguishing what genres songs fall into, and realizing my favorite kpop songs fall into specific categories is genuinely gonna help me find more music I like. Thank you for making this! Also, I just want to say 'Kick It 4 Now" by TNX is one of the best kpop songs I've ever heard in the new jack swing genre. Such a refreshing throw back without being boring, which is something I've noticed happens a lot when kpop groups or idols try out that genre. It's top 5 of boy group songs this year for me.
the amount of diversity in kpop is really what brought me in, as someone who is very young and doesnt have much experience listening to different genres kpop allows me to get a little taste of a wide variety of genres and it helps me understand which genres i like most. thank u for ur videos😋👍
I love how there are so many different genres and then each song in each genre has a totally different vibe, I don’t understand how people say kpop sounds the same!
I think these genre are attached to these songs for marketing purpose, to sell them and also so listeners or music critics can put a name on what they ear. Otherwise the August D song have drill prod in it, Baddy have hyperpop prod in it (like Aespa Savage), Air Force have Jersey prod in it, Taeyon and AKMU songs sound like pop soft ballad or pop accoustic, Seven have uk garage prod in it, Lalala have phonk, afro and pop rock prod in it, it feels like Fact Check blend baile funk and afrobeat, V song sound like neo soul, Aespa song sound afro tropical pop, on and on...They really are POP songs because they are very hybrid, hence all the song called trap here, they are so hybrid you can't ear the trap prod anymore. Pop is a genre that mix many genre together, so a wide audience can conssume it. Great job otherwise, this video taught me few things.
One thing that started going in 2024 is funk electro/funktronica thing, because after Riize's Gag, I saw that Cix's lovers or enemies has that too. Interesting to see how trends go around. Maybe you could do a 2024 genre prediction or something like that.
I used to think that "spaghetti western" is just a category for movies like a cowboy/western themed movie made by Italian producers but it turns out to be a music genre as well?😯 Or maybe because the sampling came from a "spaghetti western" movie soundtrack?
spaghetti western is basically just the genre that encompasses music from movies that fall under the comboy/western movies you're talking about! so unforgiven is heavily inspired by the sound of soundtracks for spaghetti western movies, which makes it spaghetti western (the music genre)! hope that wasn't too confusing 😓
sooo anybody notice that funk, house and future bass is becoming a trend in kpop? i hope to see more songs with these genres in 2024 yeahh it's so good
what a year! i really really really loved 2023 songs and its vast diversity of genres. i think kpop it's trying to explore more lately and can't wait to listen what 2024 will bring for us. thank you for the video ❤

Anyone knows what genre/s do these songs fall on? iKON - Tantara, BOYNEXTDOOR - One and Only, KARD - Cake, TXT - Happily Ever After, XG - Puppet Show? Thanks!
Oh dayum! I didn't know I was listening to all these weird ass name genres. I thought it was all kpop LOL. in the start I was able to recognize and keep up with some genres but after the middle, i was lost.
Hi, I found next to nothing about jook music, could you explain what are its distinctive traits? Also, I noticed you skipped S-class, is it because it encompasses different genres?
I found about jook on Rate Your Music, and listened to a few of the songs mentioned and don't think it's similar to Kitsch. This is what Rate Your Music says: "Jook is a style of Hip Hop that originated in the house parties and clubs of Tampa Bay in the early 2000s. It later expanded to Miami, whose scene invented an accompanying dance called jookin'. Jook is characterized by a fast pace, and draws influence from Bounce, Miami Bass, Jersey Club and Dancehall. In the 2010s, jook evolved with artists like Ice Billion Berg and Ball Greezy who started to slow down their sound. It also once gained international interest in 2017 with DJ Khaled's "To the Max"."
How do you separate them? I would like to learn more about music genres and I wonder how you did it… or do you just know every kind of genre - if so how did you get this knowledge??
