@@Monoville Yesterday I also installed it on UE5.4, used the trick: Opened MARKETPLACE, found "City Sample Crowd", "Select a project to add an element", «this project is not compatible with version 5.4, select an alternative version from: "Select a version"» then from the list I select version 5.3 and the plugin installation went to my project version 5.4, installed, haven't tried it yet whether it will work or not...
Hi the body animation works but the same method I tried for face, it doesnt work. I did the same, but added the city sample crowd face_archetype_skeleton and saved. Then tried to add the compatible city sample face animation but no change happen to the facial animation. Can you please help?
Did you remember to delete face control rig in level sequence? And add compatible skeletons for both the city sample and regular metahuman face meshes in asset details?
@anurag3154 OK, not sure why it wouldn't be working 😕 sometimes right clicking on the mesh in level sequence and converting to possessable or spawnable can fix things
Not sure if I'll get round to that but you can get the model from the link here www.cgtrader.com/product/jerrys-apartment-from-seinfeld import it to unreal (via blender or similar) then I manually changed all the materials for the furniture, walls etc using ones in unreal, and added some bits here and there
Yes, Female Tall Normal weight and Male Tall Normal weight, in the case of city sample crowd they're all Tall and then either Normal, Under, or Overweight but work fine with any of the different heights
Hi, very useful tutorial thank you, but please could you help me with one thing, After going into the Metahuman Blueprint and selecting 'Body' and opening the 'Skeletal Mesh asset' and going to 'Skeleton' and selecting 'Add Skeleton' under 'Manage Compatible Skeletons' and selecting 'SK Base', back in the sequencer after deleting the Body and Face Control Rigs, I can successfully bring in any MTN body Animation onto my metahuman Character, which is fantastic. But now you say the 'Face' is the same principle i.e. go to the Face +Track > Animation > and type in 'Crowd Happy' but unfortunately after doing this, No Animations appear. I have tried various things but nothing seems to work, any help or pointers as to what I'm not doing right would be very very helpful and very much appreciated, Thank You
OK, there's no need to reply to my last message, because if I had bothered to watch the video just a little bit further, all would have been explained, Thank You
@@Monoville City sample crowds are only compatible for 5.0, how did you get that pack into 5.1? did you have to download the entire city sample to do so?
Ah right, forgot that I had originally downloaded it in 5.0. What you need to do is install unreal engine 5.0, make a new project, install the city sample crowd pack to it, then you can just copy and paste the city sample crowd folder from that project to your 5.1 project and It will work fine (you can then uninstall 5.0 if you want)
@@Monoville Ok, I'll try that, thank you. I originally tried migrating the city crowd folder from a 5.0 project to a 5.1 project, but there were errors during the migration. I'm not sure why.
I seem to recall having a similar problem when attempting metahuman migration. If copy pasting the folder doesn't work, make a copy of the 5.0 project with city sample crowd installed to it by opening it in 5.1 (or convert in place) and grab the folder from there
This is incredibly cursed and informative. Thank you Monoville!
You're welcome!

Can you tell me how can I use male character with male walking animation instead of the default city sample character when hitting play button.
Can you do a tutorial on how to get the facial animations scene in the Metahuman creator app onto our own metahumans?
I would but I can't figure that out myself, unfortunately! Seems like those animations are locked to the creator app
So fucking cursed.
I want to see a whole episode of Seinfeld like that.
I'm actually planning to try and make one! When I get time
@@Monoville Haha I'm genuinely excited to see that
*UE5.4 has been out for a long time, and City Sample Crowds is only available on UE5.3 at most. Has support stopped or something?*
Seems that way unfortunately. Haven't had any issues using them in 5.4 though
