U can never generalise total Bharatiya film industry. It's Bollywood that mostly sticks to shiny things even in songs. If you want excellent folk music and respective dance movements, you have Tamil, Kannada and Telugu movie industries for that. You are a Bengali and probably from a very Urban area. I get from where you are coming about your understanding of Bharatam.
