- Justicia Carnea 'Holanda' AKA The Brazilian Plume Flower AKA Flamingo flower. This is an excellent house plant that does great both indoors and out. The plant tolerates medium light and light watering in the winter month when it is indoors and will even flower when giving adequate food and water. The justicia Carnea is perhaps my favorite of the Justicia Species!

These are hybrids, in Nature they grow in yellow and white. The white is edible, and used as cough medicine in Indian Ayurveda.
Not hybrids, they grow exactly like that in the wild
I have 2 red justicias, the pink color is very beautiful too. It looks beautiful planted on the ground
To deadhead, do you pull off the brown flowers or the whole head where the pink spikes were?
what a beautiful flower it looks so tropical I have never seen one at least I don't think I have. if I had seen a pink flower like that I would have bought it cuz pink flowers and my favorite apart from Blue. 👉👵👈🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Libby's Little Garden mine too! Blue flowers are wonderful but harder to come by, and I've swamped my yard with so many loud colors that blues usually clash... But you know I'm not afraid of some clashing!

I have been dying to get humming birds into the yard here in Orlando and after 3 years of planning and planting they have arrived. i call one the Duchess and the male Harry because he goes to the potted plants . "potter" i also have the orange variety . how is it doing? id plant in in bigger planter with wheels since your up north. i sit in the yard waiting for the birds as well take care.
I planted it before I left home town. How is it now, I don't know.....

Aww! Thank you so much! There are a lot of diofferent varieties, but one very common yellow form, that isn't really a Justicia, but often called one, is Pachystachys Lutea.
