Very much feel this! Took my son to target for the first time this weekend and it was a 15 minute tantrum because it was the first time he'd really been anywhere other than daycare, home, or outside. I keep reminding myself that nobody alive knows what it's like to be a pandemic parent then those of us who are living it right now.
Another small mom hack is to park your car next to shopping cart gathers. That way you’re not hunting down a cart and u can wipe it down with your own wipes before putting baby in cart. Obviously when your done it’s just as easy to put the cart where it goes instead of leaving it in the middle of the parking lot
YES! I’ve just recently discovered this hack and it’s amazing! We always park in the boonies and don’t mind the walk. Just so I can be right next to a cart rack.
This ia one of the moments I am thankful to my country. Going out is something we moms do every single day except for for very cold days or when we have mist, rain etc. BUT there are countless playgrounds (also supermarkets) in walking distance. Can’t imagine how difficult it is to use the car for everything. :(
I took my daughter in the car pretty often since she was one or two months old. But she still hated it. I think some babies are just really against it! We always had to ride in the back with her, too. People always thought we were being ridiculous, but no one wants to hear their baby screaming in the backseat like that 💔 We live in the country so anywhere we need to go is at least a 20 minute ride. She's almost 9mos and is a LOT better but still has her days. This is a great video!
Thank you. As a first time mom during pandemic this has given me a glimpse of leaving the house. I havent even gone in a grocery store in 2 years. (pregnancy to 7 month old).
I used to get super stressed and anxious when my baby would make even the smallest fuss out in public. I thought people would stare at me or think I was a bad mom. But now I have gotten over that and realized A. most people don’t really care or notice and B. most people are probably in the same boat as you and totally understand. Honestly, I hardly notice other babies when they are fussing in public and when I do it doesn’t bother me. It’s hard to see my baby fuss and of course I want to do whatever I can to help him, but at the end of the day, you just get through it, and it’s all okay. 😊👍🏼
This is great! Getting out of the house is so important and it makes me feel like I'm not doing the same thing every single day. I have errand 'days' where my daughter and I go out, and that is fun to look forward to a day or two of the week that's a little special. For me, this kind of came about because I watch another baby a couple times a week and I'm not ready to go out with both of them 🤣. I do think it's a nice thing I'd do either way, though, because you kinda know what to expect and can plan the week. Although, sporadic outings are fun and important too!
I needed this more than you know. My little girl is 6 weeks old, and anytime we go into the store I have a panic attack. I’ve been so so scared of her getting sick when we go out so just seeing this is so helpful!
If you don't already (and you probably do), get a carseat cover! It helped me so much to not worry about anyone getting germs on my baby. You can actually use them as shopping cart covers when they sit in the buggy like Megan had later on!
Wow I find this so interesting! My son just turned a year old and I also have a 3 year old, and I have been taking them both everywhere with me from day one out of necessity, plus daycare starting at 8 weeks (I still had to go into work despite the pandemic) and I never thought about them being alone and afraid in the back seat, but it must be scary if they’ve never done it! Awesome job getting over your fear, it’s so hard to fall into ruts in parenthood.
Such a helpful video Megan 😊 love your videos but found this one particularly helpful as I’m also a pandemic Mum and you’ve shared ideas that I never even thought of! Thank you x
I feel this as a mom of a two month old, I see other new parents take their babies out and I just have so much worry around taking mine out 😭 I feel like this video was geared towards me.
Same. I can’t imagine being afraid to take my daughter out and about. Her favorite thing to do is go out to stores and explore. She just turned two and I’m so so so thankful to be in a state where there is not a mask mandate. Children need to see faces, learn, and interact with their surroundings.
Thanks so much for this! My baby is almost 3 months now & I still haven’t taken her out alone yet! I’m a little nervous about it but know we both need a change in scenery during the day lol. I definitely need to practice with the stroller! Luckily she has loved car rides since she was still in my tummy.
Yes! And when I’ve asked my mom/grandma how they did it - with their husbands! They had help and we just don’t function like that anymore. So many times, it’s just me and the kids. It is nice though if you can team up with a mom friend. Highly recommend having more hands if possible.
Maybe you can do a video on ideas of actual outing mamas can do for fun with kids during this pandemic with all the restrictions? My husband and I are especially cautious about leaving the house, but sometimes I feel like I need to get out with them, and like other things besides the park:)
YUP. Fellow pandemic mom here (my son is almost 1!) and this hits home lol - wonderful video Megan!
Yess!
MEGAN I can’t thank you enough for your motherhood tips playlist. Please don’t ever delete it!!! You are an angel!!!

YES this is something I've started doing and it makes a huge difference. :)

I’m sure many mamas have this fear! 🙌🏻thank you!
I thought I was the only one riding in the back with my baby girl! I can so relate to your video

I loooove this video idea! I’m about 3 months away from our little nugget being here, and the anxiety is sooo real. I so appreciate this! ❤️
Same! ✨✨

Which car seat did you buy for Rowans next size up?! It looks so adorable and very aesthetic.
Such a helpful video Megan 😊 love your videos but found this one particularly helpful as I’m also a pandemic Mum and you’ve shared ideas that I never even thought of! Thank you x

Haha 😌
Wow! I was just thinking about this today 😂 video came just on time for my baby and me. Great tips, thanks!
same!! ;)
This video was so needed!! Thank you!
Did you lighten your hair again? It looks so pretty! Such a good video, thank you for the advice :) I definitely relate to this with my 14 month old.
No I haven’t done anything to it, but thank you!
I live in the south & our lives never changed too much. It’s so sad to me that this is reality for so many people.

Thank you so much this was amazing!!😊
Jesus loves you🥰
How do you handle naps while being out? To be honest, that’s my biggest fear.

I love your “take one for the team” analogy. I wish it was more of our nation’s mindset.
