    Well Pat, when would you start reducing winter feed to prepare for compensatory grass growth, 30 days before turn-out?

    You’ve a good taste of the red clover silage by now. I’ve met a few people thinking of using it as high protein roughage for calves coming off milk. Would it be rough enough to match straw or would it vary a lot?

      In my view it would be far too rich for calves at weaning. Unless it was very dry
