As cliche as it sounds, take your time and play it super slow. Using a metronome is super beneficial when it comes to building speed. Only play it at a speed you can play without pausing at all in the middle of the run. Wishing you the best!
@@derekyukna4480 dude I was finally able to play it in original tempo. This little tip made an extreme difference in my playing in just a month! Thank you!
This lick may be a bit of a struggle if you start with a down picking motion. Start with an up picking motion to begin the lick. Derek is doing it but didn't say it.
Bob Holland correct! I start this lick with an upstroke. Totally player preference, but it felt more natural to begin with an UP for this particular lick
I can play this slow at about 30-40% speed, but it gets so hard when i go to the higher strings. Practicing on a metronome now but I kinda get lost trying to play it slow on the 3/4 beat. What should I do?
Hey! So first question-are you starting with an upstroke? Makes this particular run easier. Also, breaking it into fragments and playing really slow (as you’re doing) can really be beneficial. So sorry for the delayed reply!
@@derekyukna4480 the upstroke felt really weird as im a guy who starts on a downstroke but i figured if i were to slant my pick to allow a better escape motion for even note runs then its all good. also yeah, i actually managed to fragment the solo into workable chunks! I can play the solo at full speed now, just that the higher strings still get a lil wonky from time to time 😅
Thank you for the lesson and great playing! I love the way this entire song is arranged and composed. one of their best!
Agreed! Thank you for the kind words!
omg, thank you for this.
My pleasure!!
thank u so much for this man!
Dryst® my pleasure! Thank you so much for checking it out!
good guitar lesson , brother ..
Just a small tip: It'd be great if you went over the picking pattern. My personal opinion. Thanks for the vid!
IrregularStar Hey! Picking is entirely alternate. I start with an upstroke. Whichever direction you decide to start with is entirely up to you.
Thank you very much bro!!! Great job!!!
Thank YOU! 😊 really appreciate it!
you are effin awesome dude!
Team Red thanks so much! Thanks for making the request 👌🏻🤘🏻

@@derekyukna4480 for sure! :D
It's been 2 weeks and I am still stuck with slow speed like you played for the first time. Any tips on how can I play in the original rate?

@@mohitsinha679 so happy it worked out! Happy playing! 🤘🏻
Need full lesson plz in details
which technical did you use the part that you played fast ?
Alternate picking, starting with an upstroke 👍🏻
That lick sounds so hard any recommandations I’m stuck at 70% speed beside of slowing down the lick ? Thank you so much
Try starting it with an upstroke! Keep the alternate picking strict

Tanks!! That was my question
I'm not sure if that's a good idea, by the way it is possible all notes at the end to be played on the 3rd string (without the 4th one).

the hardest part and it solved now🤣🙏
yosef paskananda glad it helped! Let me know if you have other requests!
Derek Yukna for sure man!!
Derek Yukna “take the time” please, already 17 years really can’t get the tabs
yosef paskananda that is SUCH an awesome song. I’ll work on getting a cover done and then I’ll post a lesson!
Derek Yukna very happy to hear it!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 really appreciate
Thanks man what is this metronome speed?
I looked it up and apparently it's 156bpm. Do fact check me if you need to tho
Hey Derek, do you have any tips to get so fast and smooth with these lines? I'm quite struggling with this

How much did it took you to nail that fast run?
two notes per string is my weak point, I can't go beyond 120bpm.. guys who can play it at 156bpm are guitar gods in my eyes
