- An afternoon fishing for brook trout in Deer park Newfoundland Labrador, 45 minutes outside the province's capital city of St. John's. It's a great way to spend a day in the outdoors. Catching a few big trout for supper was a bonus that topped off a relaxing day on the pond. There is some great underwater footage taken with a GoPro Hero 9 Black

Great show likes fishing up there my self from shore like find couple ponds try trolling with any suggestions on lurers or
all the ponds have decent trout. I just go to the ones thst I can back into. Bad pond is decent if you have a truck. roads a bit rough near the end .. Generally in ponds thst aren't to deep I just use a lucky strike spinner and worm.. if it's deep ill use a bigger lure and tail bait .

This is a good point. I shall make note of that in the future. This was mid may 2022... I left torbay at 900 and was home supper supper time . so basically middle of the day

Beautiful looking trout but why would you call that beautiful fish a mud trout we have a few ponds in Prince Edward Island that people rarely fish in because the trout tastes very muddy and that's the true definition 2 the meaning of mud trout I'm sure that trout you having your video is not a real mud trout unless it tastes like shity mud
There is no actual species of trout called mud trout. In Newfoundland, we use the slang terms mud trout or brook trout to refer to speckled trout, but as you pointed out, slang varies from region to region.. There is no real "true definition" of mud trout. Generally, I find the trout that live in muddier areas to be better eating. The available food generally makes the meat pinker. Thanks for watching
