puppet ganon is one of the most brilliant bosses! it combines several phobias like snakes, spiders, and puppets as a little test of courage for link
And if you think about it, I don't think they could have pulled it off with any other art style.
@@Nerenthiil the art style was genius and it aged well. So much better then twilight princess's art style.
Not saying twilight princess was a bad game but its art style did not age as well and I think the developers made a point about that on why they chose the cartoonish design over a realistic art style with Wind Waker's development. We can see the comparison for ourselves with twilight princess having a "realistic" art style" probably being chosen intentionally for us to compare the two on the same console for generations into the future.
As a kid I did not understand this to why it was so cartoonish after playing ocarina of time but as an adult 20 years later I understand the wise choice with the cartoonish design. It aged super super well and still holds up well till this day better then twilight princess does. I am now humbled with the path they went for wind waker.
@@VaporShiroVTuberChTwilight princess was better bro
I almost feel like Ganon was legit playing with Link, why else would the fish bait work to distract the snake form 😂
It's incredible how they've managed to make a concept as silly as the king of all things evil using a puppet on a string to fight you so unsettling. Intimidating even. This soundtrack put in hard work.
Well if you also take into an account with skyward sword this can be seen as ganondorf knowing he’s a puppet of he’s not a normal man his not a king his is what the gods fear he is the demon king and iam pretty sure there had to been some scripture nots about the events of skyward sword some where and ganondorf most have know about it and connecting the dots
Or atleast the legend surviving through family trees or something.
Ps after all Zelda does say skyward bond in BOTW?!!! So this would be to far fetched!!!!
I mean to be fair even when you describe it like that it sounds pretty cool
I think part of the silliness is why Puppet Ganon is so creepy. It's not an elegant, organic being like Ganon is, it's a shambling monstrosity intent on nothing but destruction. It's so childish, so weird, it really adds to this being one of the series' scarier bosses.
@@thatjrpganimefanplayerjusi8003 "Skyward bound, adrift in time or seeped in the embers of twilight"
Fighting a demonic Pinocchio never felt so intimidating
What I love about this boss, is how it's a surprise take on Ganon's true form.
The first phase is more or less Ganondorf just mocking you. The puppet barely even attacks you in this phase, mostly just dancing around the room; which feels similar to how Majora's Incarnate mostly just messed with you. Unless you get to close and get smacked by his tail; odds are you'll beat the first phase with barely a scratch... his punches are super easy to avoid, and as long as you cut the strings with the Boomerang, he'll barely do anything at all.
But then the second phase reveals to you that the whole thing was just a joke. As Ganon morphs and begins aggressively trying to crush you. The time to evade his attacks in this phase is tight, and you might not have the chance to actually hit his weak spot; which does make this phase a struggle to survive above all else. It makes the fight seem more intense, but the phase is easy if you keep on the move constantly.
But the Snake form is certainly the most memorable. It feels like a more aggressive version of the Moldorm boss fight from A Link to the Past. Instead of trying to knock you into a pit; it actively comes after you trying to kill you. The sheer speed it goes, and the fact that you can't just stand around aiming or he WILL hit you; makes this phase extremely tense, especially since every hit sees Ganon release Morths, which will slow you down and make it even easier for this form to hit you. Given the difficulty of this section... it's super easy for you to lose countless fairies, or even die. Especially if you can't get a good shot on the orb.
It occurred to once, that giant puppets might have been something a young Link might have had nightmares over at one point. Like a childhood fear or something similar. Snakes, spiders, and a giant marionette puppet are all pretty scary to a kid like link. Maybe personal fears. And that's why Ganondorf took those forms? It would explain why he calls out to Link afterward, applauding his "courage"....maybe the boss fight was more of a test on Link's part by Ganondorf to make positive Link had the Triforce of Courage.
It almost seems like teasing too, like he's playing toys with Link. For example if you throw down fish bait during the snake phase the snake will get distracted and circle the bait for a while, like Ganondorf is humoring Link's silly, childish idea! ❤❤
The snake phase was always my favorite boss theme from the game
Fun fact: it’s a remix of the ocarina of time ganondorf boss battle theme!
Same lol
Yeah, this and Molgera are the best boss themes
I'm at a loss for words on how to describe how awesome this.
I can only imagine I will be crying tears of pure bliss if you remake orchestrate the final battle theme for wind waker.
Right there with you, that might be my favorite Zelda final boss theme
Commission her and she'll most likely do it. She doesn't do requests via YT comments. you have to commission her when she opens up for commissions!
Oh, what I'd give to have enough money to commision this artist. Final battle from WW holds a special place in my heart, and it deserves a rendition as glorious as this.
I always thought it was funny that Ganon didn’t even try to hide the strings
Oh, _hell_ yes. Intro percussion and everything!
Wow. A request of mine got released!
I forgot how good 3:41 is, but 6:15 is as good as ever.
...I really need to play Wind Waker again.
I've always had a soft spot for spider pig, but getting the entire course is all the better.
🎵Spider Pig, Spider Pig, does whatever a Ganondorf wants🎵
I can only imagine how Ganondorf's boss theme will sound like
4:04
*"I AM HAVING A HEART ATTACK!"*
"DON'T WORRY, I'LL HELP YOU!"
"THANKS! Uh... Wait, what are you-?"
"YOU'LL BE JUST FINE!"
"OH, NO! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
"Soldier Has a Heart Attack" credit goes to Systematic
the way these always get more and more cinematic always makes me excited for what's next
This what I always imagined the music to this battle would sound like, bless you for this arrangement.
:oooo I like your videos!
@@matlecat2540 haha thanks!
I absolutely love how you used the choir in these. Really well done as always!
Wow this is impressive.
I love that percussion. Your instruments make it seem more serious and intense. Feels pretty fitting for Bloodborne PSX too!
And it's cool seeing this. I just replayed and beat this game AND made a Wind Waker main theme/credits cover just a few days ago myself!
Keep up the good work.
I swear this is how dramatic it felt fighting puppet ganon as a kid for the first time
Underrated sequence from my favorite game of all time
I never knew a goofy puppet theme could go so hard
edit: OKAY BUT WHY IS 4:54 SO FREAKING GOOD
I'd say the snake phase is the best sounding one here. But it's all amazing as always, great job!
Absolutely brilliant. Wind waker was always missing a touch of choir.
I actually like it that way! Choirs feel so nostalgic/medeival/historical, Hyrule music having choirs feels right but in Wind Waker Hyrule is no more, instead new cultures are forming and the music has a fresh feel
@@InvaderGIR98 but that’s exactly why is fits here. The evil is ancient and of old hyrule.
The third part of this song perfectly acted as the theme song to me desperately speeding through a parking garage looking for a spot while trying to keep myself from pissing myself.
And Te- I mean, Zelda slept through all of this??? Was she under Ganon’s sleeping spell or was she really that much of a heavy sleeper?
I think Ganondorf grabbed her as soon as Link got distracted by the puppet and went up to the rafters to watch Link fight.
That’s my take on it, anyways
I definitely think it's a sleep spell
Woooah I just looked up a cover for this 4 days after it came out
This is awesome. I've always loved the snake part, but this makes all of it sound absolutely delightful. The first part gives me some hefty Dark Souls vibe with your rendition.
AWWWW YEAAAAAAAAH
WIND WAKER TIME BOIS
IVE NEEDED THIS, I'm immediately adding this to my Smash Bros Music Mod. This whole time I've just had the snake form added cause I didn't want to have all three separate forms as their own tracks, but now I can have them all in one connected song!
Every time you post it’s an instant listen from me
Wind waker was AWESOME bro- it brings back so many good memories:)
I think my favorite part of this music is the spider puppet section.
While I know it'll probably never happen, I would love to see these three tunes as separate videos, and a decent bit longer than their respective parts in this 3-in-1 video. It's a wonderful composition regardless though! This is just my own personal musings, and think it would be cool. xD
Ah, puppet snake Ganon is one of my favorite boss themes!
I knew this was gonna be a banger as soon as I saw it! Mad my notifications for you are off but happy this just showed up in my feed
Finally someone does a remix of this song!
Amazing as always! I've always really loved this whole selection of songs from that entire fight, and your covers always get an instant like from me, you do such a good job both keeping the original feel while also giving it a great new sound
6:15 is amazing
Hope to see Ganondorf Battle theme soon!!
Well, this is one song I never in a million years expected you to make a remix/cover of. Hell, I barely remembered the song myself prior to hearing this cover.
But it sounds amazing, and I'm super glad you did! Nice to see an otherwise ignored boss theme get the attention it deserves like this.
Those three are some of my favorite pieces from the game! 🎶
Lordy this is incredible
I was not expecting a whole SUITE
"DO NOT BETRAY MY EXPECTATIONS!"
Proceeds to fight Link with giant toys, strings and all
Amazing job as always!
This is amazing!
This is fucking masterful dude.
EXCELLENT!
All three phases in one You are no Demon you are a God
The snake Part is the best
I love it!
4:43 por lejos la mejor musica de la marioneta araña
estoy de acuerdo es muy bueno
(pido disculpas si mi español es defectuoso, todavía estoy tomando clases)
Incredible arrangement!!
I really need to get into WW.
Yes. Yes you do.
It's worth it
Definitely one of the best games in the franchise and my favorite one
Nunca e jugando ese zelta, pero suena maravilloso 😅
I love Puppet Ganon I wish he would've made another appearance in the series
Why did it take me until now to realize that 6:42 is 'Dorf's battle theme from OoT.
You're right, the melody of Ganondorf's fight theme from OoT is used! It's a semi-tone higher here though, in c sharp minor, rather than the c minor of OoT.
Sooooo good
I have yet to find a good version of Ganon’s Boss theme from OOT. Not Ganondorf, Ganon. Please. I beg of you. Consider it
God even 20 years later I still irk a little bit thinking about being unsettled and of a hard boss by puppet Gannon (ESPECIALLY IF YOU JUST NEED TO PICTOGRAPH IT). And that's why it's a truly amazing boss, it's one that I still think I might somehow goof up and lose to.
You can get the photos from the camera guy I think
Awesome
Sooo beautiful thank you bud for this incredible piece
0:55 phase 1
3:40 victory?
4:04 phase 2
6:14 phase 3
Puppets it’s also puppets
7:24 ❤
Morth hover moment
This is so much better...
0:55 intro skip
each of the phases as solo videos??
Apple or Spotify???
Or can I get the OG midi if you have it?
What key is this in?
And the time sig?
Can you do Illusionary Room from wind waker?
Do you sleep still?
Ehhhhhh its alrighttttttt..... Noble Demon went for more a creepy sounding Puppet Ganon in this video. But I like the original more because it felt more scary (or daunting) cause of the drums, i cant really think of the word but the instruments Nintendo used in the original track is better imo.
