I run open primary on my shovel, and all I have to remember is to not ride with my boots untied.
Larry is awesome!! He knows his stuff!
I love your videos..and I laugh alot because I sound the same way on the 12 videos I made,im not a machanic either and cought alot of crazy comments..people are crazy....but I sure have been learning.
My bike is a 89 evo..so im actaully learning from you n larry.
The other thing is I lived in coal hill are for 6 years, and you southern brothers are way more frienly than up north ohio.them were some of the best years of my life.thank you for what you do brother man...I met you at fuel Cleveland 2022 and took a pic with you n your wife.god bless you...keep the shiney side up.
Wow. Learning so much about motorcycles with this chopper rebuild/refresh. I am very new to the whole motorcycle ownership thing. Hope it doesn't cost an extreme amount of money to get Maxwell running well.
Thanks for sharing been learning a lot. Funny getting ready to do my primary chain adjusters. I really like working on my own bike. So any info is awesome. So thanks ✌️
Since my heritage only has 10,000 miles on it I have not checked the compensator. The bike has been ridden easy since new. Just before it was put up for winter storage it had its 10,000 mile service. That included a three hole oil change with syn 3. As long as I on the heritage will not be ridden hard. I'm hoping to make the bike last a long time.
Enjoyin the videos!
I use to run 10w30 amsoil in my wet clutch system. Never had a problem.
My current ride I am running a dry clutch system
@3:20 .... running an open primary was historically a choice of convenience... with rubber drive belt technology at the time... the belts were not as durable and more prone to rip/tear/pop... so in an effort to inspect them at a quick glance and reduce changing one on the side of the road... guys removed the outer primary cover. Less pieces to remove and fewer fasteners to lose/keep track of.
With modern belt technology its just an "old school" fashion choice.
I'd put one on a show bike or a "bar hopper chopper" but not my daily.... but my main ride a 90's sportster ... so obviously no dry clutch or open primary for it's future ... 😅
i rode my 48 pan for 10 yrs never caught my pants in it, but i wear 501 levis.. i once stuck my foot in it but i had steel toe boot, LUCKY 4 me
I think that bike needs a set of s&s heads I have on my shelf here. Would definitely beat Larry's bike.
atf made my clutch slip in my old evo. i know a lot of guys use it but sure didnt work for me
No stripper dust in the oil keeps the Mrs….happy
You’re going to have it stripped to the bare frame soon
Ride open primary with a chain wearing flip flops.
😂😂😂
Better off getting a new motor
Coming from someone who probably does not even own a harley. These motors are infinitely rebuild able.
