Anne, thank you so much for this video. I paid to have the outer walls of my barn built but after watching your video I felt confident I could do my stalls. Worked on it today & hope to finish tomorrow. 😊 Also, I’ll be keeping my clamps handy for lots of projects. Thanks again!
So... maybe this is a stretch, but if you put a thumbs down on this, then you are more than likely not a good person. The positive side - I love this so much.
Love that when you are trying to carry in the heaviest load the goats all crowd around .. like "what ya got for me .. what ya got for me? I love all my animals - so I have inadvertently trained them to do exactly the same thing.
I'm late to this party, but I'm sure by now you've discovered that baby nigerian dwarf goats can and will squeeze right through cattle panels whenever they feel like it. :)
How can you say that you usually work by yourself when you had ALL that help around you (the 4 legged type of help)! It's amazing to see how your critters show no fear and just seem to want to be into everything........how fun. Oh my gosh, baby goats are ADORABLE!!!
Hey Anne Beuatifull video I luv the way your animals are your lovely pets. When I grew up on my parents farm we had hundreds of animals mostly cows and sheep so it was very hard to have them as pets. We had stock horses and cattle/sheep dogs. I loved the orphan lambs and calves but it was a business as my father often reminded me. Being a young girl I often became way too attached to them. My father was very much a horse man. We had stock horses show horses and jumpers we even had an ex New Zealand race horse. Riding him was like driving a Ferrari, I rode all of them. I loved all our horses from a Shetland pony fairly nasty little horse to our quarter draft horse probably the most docile horse alive. Anyway I would have loved to have your pets growing up. Your videos bring back a lot of my young happy memory to me. Thank you so much💋 Ashleigh💖
Hahaha, always love the inclusion of the bloopers! Those goat kids are sooooo adorable!!! Nice quick, solid build on the pen and none too soon it seems. Great job! So excited to watch your new farm develop and all the shenanigans you'll get up to while making it happen! Cheers!
hi, Anne. Welcome to the South ! I'm just about 90 miles north of you in BG,KY. Like you, I'm a jack of many trades, mainly because I love creating things, so I enjoy your videos..(( loved the outtakes !! ROFL )) I'm wanting to learn blacksmithing, but that's on the back burner. I've got goats, cats, dogs, geese, ducks, and chickens on my lil 5 acre mini-farm. Currently I'm building a new cottage/barndominimum. LOL The barn is actually connected to the cottage by a breezeway, aka: dogtrot, which allows me access to the barn without having to go completely outside. Congrats on those babies. I'm looking forward to the kidding video. Have a great day !
It’s important to be ready to build whatever we need around here! I’m clumsy when it comes to construction because it’s outside my wheelhouse but I love projects like this that make a huge difference, look nice, and can be started and finished in a small time frame. Not quite so with the furniture!
My problem is not the lack of more hands, but usually the fact that my arms only span ~6ft. Also, I am worried about the kids getting stuck in that fencing. Use smaller holes.
Thank you for showing this build as well as the outtakes at the end so we know you have hassles as well with a build. You are very entertaining and informative in your build process or just in relaying what is happening. Have a great day.
I really enjoyed watching your donkey mess with you! They are pranksters. I left our two donkeys in the front pasture to check my fence lines. Half way around I bent over to see something as my shirt tail came flying out. HOW DOES A 750# ANIMAL SNEAK UP ON ANYTHING? I've never known a more 'in tune' animal than donkeys. They seem to know our thoughts. Thanks for the great video.
Most projects go so well with two people who know what they're doing. But many projects can be done on your own. The real challenge is filming your project while surrounded by furry Friends. That's really entertaining 😂🤣😆
Very Nice and obviously just in time lol. Loved the easy gate. Been needing to make an easy gate and you just showed me how to. Irony little critters lol Thank You Peace Be With You ☮️
I have watched so many of your videos, and never realized you were a lefty. It is also very good to see that all does not always go as simply as indicated in your videos!!!
Great! My wife was watching with me and now she wants a donkey and a baby goat because they're cute and cuddly (stop it with the donkey jokes people) You're killin' me here Anne...
@@AnneofAllTrades you're an inspiration to my daughter! I've got her doing woodwork! She's only 7 too! We built a birdhouse already, and yes it had wonky cuts, and was uneven, but I let her do all the cuts.
the outtakes are priceless. I've been wanting to build a gate and also needed to attach a stud wall into a concrete floor. You should me how to do both. thanks Anne.
I like it! As a fellow "goater", great plan and construction. Only thing I have to "ding" you on is I dont do anything that sparks in the barn. Seen too many barn fires!
We love it! There have been some adjustments, and I miss having everything farm and shop already “set up,” but things here will shape up to be significantly more awesome than they ever would have been there so I’m ok with some transition time.
@@AnneofAllTrades when I lived down there they let me know the same thing would be happening back home in two weeks. It's a nice sound for me, it's when they get quite is when you want to check the livestock.
Anne-- Love your animals, videos, and attitude! Question-- You mentioned that glueing the joint in the gate "doesn't make a whole lot of sense" because it's a "cross-grain connection". Not sure why the cross-grain joint wouldn't benefit from glue as much as any other face-grained joint would. (If it were end-grained, I'd agree with you.) Am I missing something? Keep up the great story-telling, animal-rearing, and keeping your hands dirty!
Loved the bloopers. What type of goats do you have and was that a donkey that tried to eat your hoodie lol? I am very new to your channel and so far so good.
Ha! Glad you liked the video, bloopers are my favorite! Yep, that was my Howdy boy the mini donkey, and he's got Nigerian Dwarf friends in the goat barn :)
No such thing as a dumb question! Just like cows (and humans for that matter), the goats need to have babies so they can produce milk. Having milk is the sole purpose I breed them. That, and selling the kids helps offset some other farm expenses I wouldn’t otherwise be able to endeavor.
Great looking pen and gate

Haha that is partially true, only the little runt was able to, but she didn’t want to, so it all worked out.
The outakes were hilarious!

Its still a long grain connection, also if the grain direction is at 90.
Strong connection

😍😍😍 those cute little baby goats !!!
know a goat that ate a 3 gallon bucket of wall paint over the course of a summer... sip of glue? peanuts!

Why do you put down floor mats?
Because standing on concrete is bad for the animals’ legs and backs
