Westcoast Saw Build

Time to Hotrod my MS 461 Stihl with a chainsaw kit from Westcoast Saws and a Maxflow air filter. This includes installing dogs, Bark box and the new air filter. These items really open the saw up so I will be removing the carb limiters and retuning the saw at the end of the video.

I have the exact same saw and did the exact same parts except I went with the red beards intake vs the max flow, such a awesome saw very well running and more than enough power for most. And I agree r Doug firs get some thick gnarly bark on them.

I really like the wcs dogs and bark box granted I'd also love to try the Egan straight shot but I got the bark box on the 661

Yeah I’m really happy with this stuff, probably should have mentioned the max flow was good also. Have you run the Egan? I’ve heard it’s ungodly loud.

@workinonitsteve I have not run the Egan straight shot but I've heard that if gives a little more hp then west coast but not much more not sure bout the loud Ness

@@BrennanRaihl interesting, there is a lot I can do inside the core of the muffler but it sounds good for now. Not sure why but it sounds quiet on the video. Dang GoPro mic just picks up wind not horse power 😂 Definitely loud now.

I need to get some parts for my old 064, its getting a little long in the tooth. Probably give it the same treatment this saw just got.

That said.....If customer service is important to you, stick with WCS all the way

Where did you get the bar oil jug?

I’ll have to go look but I’m pretty sure it’s a jug from madsens saw and supply in Chehalis wa.
