I swear I saw that you posted this yesterday but when I finally had a chance to go watch it, it was gone… was so sad. I thought I was hallucinating 😂😂 looking good though man keep up the good work!!
Connor, would you mind actually doing a RUclips Short or a super short video explaining how the hell you got the miata engine on the engine stand? Please. I am begging you. What bolts did you use, how did you mount it, what is needed, etc. Please. Sincerely, Holding My Engine with Tires and Blocks while Rebuilding
You'll need an engine stand where the legs are adjustable on the plate. If the plate isn't slotted so the legs can shift around, it won't work. I ended up using all 4 bolts in mine, some people can only get away with 3. The bolts you need are 12x1.5, buy some 3" and 4" long ones.
Man I need your help… I’m really stumped. In your opinion is the kraken kit worth it? What would you rate it out of 10… a lot of people are running it but don’t care to share anything (info) lol. You’re the only RUclipsr that did an entire build/install of the kraken kit… Anything that is not included in the kit? (Besides ecu, clutch, injectors, dif)
9.5/10. Only reason it’s not 10/10 is because the oil and coolant lines melted on me and developed pin hole leaks. I ended up running the FM coolant lines and turbo drain, the heat sleeving and the clamps they include are amazing. As for the rest of the kraken kit, the fit and finish would make you think it’s OEM. Extremely nice, no fuss, it just flat out works. I think it’s the best off the shelf option you can buy. Comes with all necessary hardware, and even though it doesn’t include instructions it’s pretty easy to figure out where everything goes. If you have any questions, they’re pretty responsive through FB.
Do you happen to know what you torqued the rod caps to? I have the same rods. The booklet that came with them says to torque them to 26 ft lbs but that seems kinda low
Awesome progress. Are those the original pistons? Front main is no too bad! Way better then the oil pan. Mine leaked very very badly after the turbo install. Placed it with a genuine mazda one and all fine again. 2 hour job tops.
Sheeeeeessh was not expecting that jump to the engine being a dressed up. Looking good dude!

Yes factory pistons. Front main is brand new Mazda OEM.
