In Kannada it's called Bataani soaked over night and prepared almost same way its a street food here in karnataka called as Masala Puri.Served exactly same as you showed. We love Our Masala Puri staple evening snack....thank you for sharing.💐🙏❤️

Thank you so much for ghugni. Very delicious dish. Kala namak or bit nun, Bhaja moshla and imli pani or tetul jol enriched it's taest. But I saw our ma mashi use dhone, jeera , mouri and one dry red chilli to making bhaja mosla. They not use green cardamom
In West Bengal we also add thinly diced coconut along with it and in bhaja masala we also add red chilli (if you want it spicy). We also make it without onion and garlic during any puja. M from bengal and yes its the authentic way of making ghugni and it has many versions veg, non-vegetarian and also vaishnav style which is without onions and garlic but anyway ghugni is yummy and eaten actually anytime as a snack, bfast or in dinner.
