9:56 You forgot to mention that once that happens, you have to run from room to room to find the next macguffin, and you get about 10 seconds in each room before Mimi shows up and tried to murder you (while you have no way of fighting back).
One simple sentence:
"BEWARE, I LIVE!"
RUN COWARD!
*RUN, RUN, RUN!!!*
I HUNGER
namtafeht A profile pic of Gluttony to go with that comment? Ok, good.
LOL had this as my profile pick for a long time... I did not make the association until I had already posted
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's mask is a non-horror game filled with tons of horrifying moments.
Yeah, things that are far more horrifying than the Dead Hand.
The moon. Oh god the moon
THE REDEADS
The Ben drowned statue
Nebby0 that... doesn’t count...
Mine is Monster Octopus from the N64 Spiderman game. It's pretty normal and all the sudden you have this abomination running at you screaming DIE!
holy shit yes
thank christ im not the only one who couldnt finish that game as a kid. ive still barely touched it since
TheShangryLlamas I have the PC version of that game and well monster doctor octopus never scared me that much to be honest.
Scotty Lewis if you're old enough to have the PC version you probably weren't young enough to be scared hahaha xD I was like 5 or 6 years old when I played the N64 one a lot.
Scotty Lewis I liked venom as a kid, I found him funny.
the bioshock one nearly made me piss myself laughing with the way he just turns around and just hits him with the wrench and that sound it made. thump. lmao.
Sometimes when you turn around he says something, meaning at any point he can say “There’s semen, on everything! *Everything!”*
For me it's Giga Bowser from Melee.
I just destroyed Bowser as playing as Jigglypuff and suddenly you get a cutscene of Bowser floating back into the stadium and suddenly he gets buffer and his eyes does a quick glare at the screen.
My little heart was racing when I saw that thing and did nothing but kick at it hoping that Jigglypuff will survive.
I always played on very easy so I never even knew giga bowser existed until brawl
What about meeee...?
Rugrats on PS1. That game was fucking terrifying.
The title says "non horror games" so Rugrats doesn't count
100% yes. I had nightmares about that shot xD
I still can't play
that game.
is that the one where you have to gather the jigsaw pieces?
Holy fucking shit I'm not the only one!
The scariest thing in video games I saw was the Playstation 2 Disc Read Error. You know, the red sceen with ominous music.
EDIT: No joke, when it first happened to me as a kid, I thought my Playstation 2 was going to explode! XD
Tails19935 I first got that error playing games late at night while home alone in the dark. I felt like so anxious and paranoid afterwards. 2 spooky 4 me.
Tails19935 true
I loved it.
I don’t know why.
I’m weird.
It’s not very scary when it ISN’T YOUR TV. I was playing a Japanese game on my American PS2 (aka trying to do something impossible) and it showed up. I was dead
When I was younger I wasn't scared at all and thought I found a secret menu.
Giygas from Earthbound. I know everyone says it but it’s true, I was not expecting the final boss to be walking up a set of intestines to see a horrific alien womb thing only for it to turn into a terrifying acid trip with horrific dialogue where nothing you do works except pray for someone to help you (which admittedly makes it such a great ending). Yeah, it’s been said a million times but for good reason. Not an ending I expected from a cute Nintendo game, but that entire cute game is full of hidden dark themes which is kinda cool.
There were a lot of weirdly spooky moments in the early Tomb Raider games, for me.
EVERY. BEAR. EVER. REALLY.
Dim Ap Yes! But in TR3 and so on there were even more creepy things. Like mutant men that barf acid at you....
Haven't played TR3 at all to be honest..
I have completed only the original, Legend, the reboot and partly Anniversary.
2 things though;
-TR's (PS Original) T-Rex battle is probably the scariest highlight for me.
-Is TR3 good?
If I remember correctly TR5 was the last one on the PS, right?
In that case, it was creepy and... well... kinda boring to be honest.
CroftManor That's exactly what I was thinking! The early TR games had some great creepy atmosphere in the darker parts. I hated those barf guys in the mines. And I think about those imps and that petrified heart guy all the time haha.
The stitched eyes in Oddworld was a nightmare for me growing up.
I legit had a nightmare where my eyes were stitched shut and it scared me shitless.
Ocarina of time, rated E for:
-Blood and Gore
-Intense bloody violence
you know, for da kidz!
Ohhh yea, October is here and im ready for the Halloween themes to happen.
I really fucking hope he mentions Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.
Damn strait.
He doesnt, and bloodlines isnt scary, LoK is scarier than this one.
>Bloodlines isn't scary
>Ocean House Hotel exists
Bruh
nah for real it isn`t. maybe i got desensitized or something. I got more spooked in silent cathedral in legacy of kain.
Was thinking the same game, I would like to play it again but I don't like that hotel, at all.
Does Dead Hand seem like a scrapped Silent Hill monster to anyone else?
BlueAmpharos I agree
The ReDead also seem like a scrapped Silent Hill monster.
Im 3 years late, but no. Most silent hill monsters are based on something specific (just look at the speculations on the wiki) like for example the "Ghost Children" in 1 representing the loss of the protagonists child. Deadhand and Redead are just creepy zombie monsters.
I dunno... it kind of looks like the globglogabgalb and with that in consideration, I can't take it that seriously
@@eightcoins4401 Two Years late but;
This is why people get so annoyed with Pyramid Head showing up outside of Silent Hill 2, because it was James' monster and no one else's, the monsters of Silent Hill are personalized to which ever protagonist you happen to be playing as and symbolize something about them and their past
The redeads in Ocarina of Time left me with permanent trauma as a kid. I never got far enough to see the bloody tentacle hand molester guy
That boss it's called "Deadhand" if I recall right.
I hated when the bat creature appeared in Batman Arkham Knight. Grappling to a building a suddenly he screams right into my face :/
A little later: Grappling up a building, Joker hallucination laughing in your face.
Manbat
His name is the Manbat.
"Bat Creature" is also know as Man-Bat. Know your Batman villains.
As soon as you mentioned Super Paper Mario I knew that Mimi was going to be there
That fucked me up as a kid I stopped playing the game because of that.
I was half-expecting Super Dimentio.
I was expecting either Mimi or the bit in Chapter 6 where you literally experience the end of the world.
Dont forget The River Twygz
To quote Caddy, "No I wanted to see the age rating not how many years of therapy I'd need after seeing this bollocks!"
Soon as he mentioned Super Paper Mario, all I could think was, "That's not the game with Phanto in it."
I know this isn't video game related, but does anyone remember Courage the Cowardly Dog?
It was epic!
Oh yeah! That stuff was awesomely creepy!
blekksverd remember King Ramses
Dude, that was my show! But seriously, it was kinda freaky at times.
90's kids will remember
I don't know if I can classify this game as a horror but my personal scariest moment from a non-horror game is.....
The entirety of Don't Starve
When I saw SPM, I thought you were gonna go with Super Dimentio or the world that's _literally dying as you walk through it._
Then again, I actually like spiders, so Mimi was pretty cute.
Now that you mention it, I too am surprised he didn't go with the hellish chimera of Luigi, Dimentio and the Chaos Heart
HAPPY LEIF ERIKSON DAY!
HINGA DINGA DURGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
super bro gaming Dear SpongeBob, went to get more giant paper. Uhh... Patrick. P.S. happy Lief Erickson Day! Yinga Hinga Dinga!
Your welcome...
what ?
Its in four days
No its not
Ecco the Dolphin is #1, Johnny would be proud
Surprise alien buttsex time!
Welcome to the machine! Wait, wut? Pink Floyd made this song? Well then.
Ecco was a hero a true patriot
I came to the comments section just to see if I should watch the video. Thanks.
Why would you come to the comments on a top 10 video to see if you should watch it, there are always spoilers in the comments
ECCO THE DOLPHIN! YESSSSSSS CADDI
That game is fucked up
i heard about the game before, thought it was either a surprisingly bad or good game for its time, and that's all i knew, i thought he was gonnatalk about a grewsome death or the ending, not THE ENTIRE FUCKING PLOT.
dolphins and aliens? seriously?!
Nah. If you want gruesome deaths, you need the Dreamcast/PS2 title. Not the Genesis ones.
The silence of hell channel for horror take a quick look
Caddy I think it's hightime you talked about the Fatal Frame franchise, especially since it's the month of terrarr-arr.
I was never too scared of the Dead Hand in OoT. The Wallmasters on the other hand...
@Zoey The White Lioness The ReDeads tortured me throughout my childhood; I would have nightmares about them being in my closet and choking me to death in my sleep. :/
The Wall masters on the other hand...No pun intended .
For me the scariest parts of a non-horror game would have to be the drug-induced dream sequences from the original Max Payne. I bought all three of the Max Payne games not long after your retrospectives on them, so I expected to have a kick-ass time John Woo-ing my way through the seedy criminal underworld. And the game lived up to my expectations. That is until I got to Jack Lupino's club Ragna-Rock, and got slipped a bit of Valkyr from Mona Sax. Then everything went to pants-pissingly fucked up for a few minutes. After waking up, I thought to myself, "Shit, I hope that never happens again." Then about an hour passes, and I'm given a dosage of it big enough to kill a buffalo. And it was even WORSE!!
My wife, my kid, my job!
My black room of linear blood stains that act as a platforming section for no reason!
Carter Boyett Granted, part of the reason I was so frustrated, confused, and unnerved in those segments was because of how the finicky controls made that section, and any platforming section in the game, a complete and total pain in my ass.
Don't answer that, rhetorical question
Favorite horror moment in a non-horror game: Marx Soul from Kirby Super Star Ultra (I haven't beaten Earthbound yet). Just hearing that distorted voice after every attack and the fact that he has grown more powerful even after death terrifies me. So much so that I had a nightmare where I stepped into Kirby's shoes and took a laser to the body. I became restless and didn't pick up another Kirby game until Triple Deluxe where I came back into loving Kirby.
Am I the only one who feels like Planet Robobot is kind of... creepy? I don't know why, but it feels less colorful and happy than the other Kirby games, especially after playing Triple Deluxe.
Giak0 Haven't played that yet. Sorry. Please don't spoil the game for me. All I know is that the boss descriptions are kinda sad and that Metaknightmare Returns is a thing.
Giak0 Sadly, I know who the final boss of Metaknightmare Returns is and the theme that plays on his first phase. If you ask why, it's because I'm subscribed to a channel all about video game music and Kirby, Pokemon, and Sonic are all popular choices.
what about the shriek of pain after you defeat it followed by its entire body splitting in have
Gavin Yoshikage Pannacotta Brando Harmonia Yep. Dat's 2 spoopy 4 mii.
I'd vote for Rayman 3, specifically the Desert of the Knaaren. Happy and goofy game where you punch scarecrows with boomsticks and the core element is fighting...then it descends into a survival horror where you can't kill any of the creatures that chase you, you have to sneak around, tense and unnerving music, and those goddamn zombie chickens. 'Member that, guys?
I remember playing The Unfinished Swan and found the swamp part unsettling. Those glowing red spider eyes in the dark.
My scariest moment in a non-horror game comes from Conker: Live and Reloaded. There were some new possessed doll enemies that were added to this version that I didn't know about, so imagine my surprise when I'm walking around part of the barn area that was safe in the original game, and now there's suddenly a rotten, tattered doll with no eyes and a gaping hole in its head running straight for me. Bricks were shat.
Queen Vanessa's manor in A Hat in Time scared me half to death. I was so scared I had to watch a playthrough on youtube before speedrunning through the level myself to get it done as soon as possible
I was expecting the corrupt Colonel Cambell from MGS2
That was so creepy
That was weird, not creepy for me honestly...
I need scissors! 61!
La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo! La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo! La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo!
"Fission Mailed", I think it's called.
Oddly enough, my brothers and I were all terrified of a particular scene in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for PS1.
There's a bit where you need to steal a key from a room with a sleeping troll. We refused to do it for months.
Wow... never expected Ecco The Dolphin to be your number 1 on your list, Caddy. You and Johnny would make great friends, as long as you guys don't bring up Sonic.
Also, a scary moment of mine from non-horror game would be The Flood from Halo 1 and 2.
And also the NOISES they make.
The Vortex Queen in Echo is an interesting pick, probably best that he didn't see the Vortex Queen in Tides of Time
@@JargonMadjin She looks even worse in the sequel?! O_O
Bioshock infinite had that same kind of jump scare lol
-Sonic & Knuckles Sandopolis Act 2
-MGS3 The Sorrow
-Earthbound Giygas
-Half Life 2 Ravenholm
-Portal 1 secret room from previous test subject
-Pokemon Lavender Town
-Jak II Sewers
-Demons Souls Tower of Latria
Dark Souls Anor Londo HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big Smoke ?
Hatt Hanz Spooky Anor Londo Archers, And Ornstein and Smough, Bha, No Matter i Tried, Sorry My Bad English
Big Smoke lol ok i sorta get it, its a different kind of horror
Hatt Hanz Hahahahaha Yeah
I honestly think the lab in team galactics building in pokemon platinum is creepy as fuck, it's easy to miss but there's a huge implication of pokemon torture
Oh yes, I remember that. The music and dialog is unsettling.
what about when giratina flies at the screen in the same game? babby me nearly peed himself
And questionable genetic modifications that potentially resulted in failed Pokemon fetuses, let's not forget about that!
First time I saw the moon in Majora's Mask.
Shat me pants, y'know.
For me, my scariest moment was when I first went into the desert of the knaarens from rayman 3.
jack macleod yes, that place scared me and the worst thinf is dat there freaking invincible
“Spit in his eyes”
Yes, yes. Exactly! I didn't get past the first encounter with them for 6 years because I was so terrified.
The fact that the intro actually managed to spook me this time depresses me.
Best reaction to Dead Hand ever. You are one funny gent, Caddy.
Was I the only one who expected some kind of SomecallmeJohnny cameo/reference at #1?
I love the Month of Terrar(arr) videos so much
You can tell he endlessly enjoys making them
VIDEOS EVERY WEEK.
I AM SO GLAD. HE DESERVES MORE ATTENTION THAN HE GETS.

Wait, Sly is eaten?! What part of the game is that?
ItsASquid The Protozoid Slimers in Duke Nukem 3D
Oh damn, its the season for hella spooks
This is uploaded on my birthday! Thank you caddy! :D
Life's good being a Caddy subscriber when your birthday falls on a sunday.
Yes Caddy it is my birthday while watching this video so happy friggin birthday to me ;)
I think Caddicarus should play Sherlock Holmes Nemesis now.
The last line had me laughing so much it actually, physically hurt.
Caddie! Thank you for putting SPM! I loved that moment with Mimi
Whoa, nice intro!
Also, that animation of the needle to illustrate the eyes being stitched shut _really_ made me squirm. o_O
Now you should do a Top 10 least scariest/most disappointing scares in Horror Games
The Submerged Castle in Pikmin 2
White Pikmin? Only Blue Pikmin can enter the Submerged Castle and the only other types you can get in the cave itself are Purples and Bulbmin. Also, none of the treasures are burried so you wouldn't need Whites anyway.
MYFACEISONFIRE11 Exactly
Isn't that the one with the weird unkillable water monster that rolls on stones?
Another great vid' Caddy! :)
ReDeads are much more creepy than Dead Hand.
Pehmokettu Agreed, but they're both disturbing as hell. I hope BOTW has something freaky like that. Maybe a whole graveyard region.
I thought I was the only who found them creepier. Specifically because the first time I went to Castle Town in the future i mistook the Redeads for NPCs and when I tried to talk to one of those it was the first time I was attacked.
I remember when I was younger I was too terrified of the Shadow Temple to finish it
Dead Hand is named Hirnsauger in the German version. Hirnsauger means Brain sucker in English.
PERFECTLY FUCKING SAFE FOR LITTLE TIMMY FOR HIS 6 YEAR OLD BIRTH DAY!
I don't know if it's on the list, but fucking Lego Marvel Superheroes has a LEGIT JUMPSCARE in the fucking game with Venom.
I must look this up. Holy shit
Can I tell you where it hurts? ;)
Also yeah, and Venom of all people, jeez.
Holy shit I remember that it scarred me for life
I'm so glad you included that specific moment from BioShock because I remember that moment the most from my initial playthrough. What's even funnier for me is I was playing it while my 5 year old brother was doing his homework next to me and at that point in the game, I screamed and ended up startling my brother.
Caddy please, I can't handle this many of your spooks!
Deffinately on thief when you're at that weird island with the dead like humanoids who can't see but hear everything
When one of the humanoids falls of the elevator thing
I shitted my pants back them
huh, so you and Somecallmejohnny share a trauma with Ecco. i guess the two of you can go to therapy together
Loved your totally really, spooky story at the end there, Cadd
You win caddy. 100% total agreement on #1. Best list so far
Half-life and Half-life 2 should be all over this list. Ravenholm seriously deserves the #1 spot here.
What about Nova Prospekt from Half Life 2? Or the Nihilanth from Half Life 1?
Petronia absolutely, without question, both those parts should've been mentioned in this video.
Nova prospekt has all that brutal combine experimentation. All those people trapped in claustrophobic pods. Torture. Zombies. All with a brilliant atmosphere.
Nihilanth is also very eerie and monstrous. He speaks to you, seemingly in your head, telling you that you're alone. The whole time you're trying to navigate an alien hell. Vicious monsters all over. Dead scientists. All excellent.
There's also the scenes with the stalkers and all the crazy combine Cynths in the Citadel. That's all very creepy and brutal.
Logλn L
The music that plays when you first enter Nova Prospekt at the cells is still one of my favorite tracks.
So creepy..
Petronia It really is. A perfect piece to set the mood. Like its letting you in on the hell you're walking into. It's so great lol.
I love those! :D But it's his list, and his impressions.
next sunday is my birthday and i have waited 3 years for this moment to happened so you better say happy birthday to me next video.
He usually does right?
well my birthday is over and he didnt upload a video yet... such a sad day today....
he usually upload at 11 pm where i live. but he didnt today i guess...
Hahahahahah you are a seriously good actor man I mean it, you’ve got a talent right there.. great channel
So glad that this was posted on my Birthday :D
So I was playing Splatoon 2, and I thought they removed those infamous sounds...
I was wrong...
So..
very..
wrong..
Which sounds are we talking about? Is it the standing around in enemy ink sound?
Umm, what sounds? Sorry, I haven't played Splatoon..
@@anomnisexualpossum8485 After you beat a boss in the campaign, wait around for a bit, you'll hear it
@@samcarroll6210 alright.
0/10 Not enough Clown trend
0:33 whats the piano music called?
The Four Kings fight scared me the most, mainly because you fall and don't expect much and then just see some off statue-like thing moving towards you with some tense music.
Caddi....whay not actually show us the bits from LSD instead of the various stills?
It was a callback to his video. I liked it.
Why the fuck is the man-bat jumpscare from arkham knight here
I had to watch a Caddicarus video in my brithday. It's great to have him congratulate me for once!
Funnily enough when you tried the jump scare at 13:46 it actually clipped my headphones so I didn't hear anything, and I had my attention slightly elsewhere so when you started on about "Ohh I got you" I had no idea what you were talking about.
Zero from Kirby, anyone?
0^2?
caddy, clocktower, NOW!
Oh no, do I REALLY have to add another video to my playlist The Terrible Trio's Unending Reign??
I agree - I know that the chase theme from CT2 made it onto one of his lists, but I don't think he's ever done a video about the games themselves.
Clock Towel? That's not very scary.
**L Suddenly changes into an R**
OH THAT'S THE ONE!
I really like your videos man
Great video man you're so funny
Top 10 Not-Scary Moments in Non-Horror games?
Really?
Sure, why not?
No.
Kill joy.
Ouch. Sweet burn, brah.
Soooo no Ravenholm from Half Life 2 and no SA-X from Metroid Fusion? ok...
sa-x a phone
There's only ten spaces.
If it makes you feel any better, I was expecting MGS2 to make an appearance.
Ravenholm's got nothing on the Antlion Caves from episode two
that Guardian is the worst
Wait, you don't think half life 2 is a horror game?
Goku x Sephiroth Half-Life has some spooky parts but it's not really a horror game, it just has some dark moments (such as Ravenholm, Nova Prospekt, The Victory Mine and the Nihilanth)
Uuuuuh, think I'll keep your reaction to Dead Hand as one of my favourite RUclips moments of all time, thaaaank you!
omg you're hilarious, love ur stuff
10:20 - I thought that you pronouncing "Vaniller Ice" is just a part of the joke, but after you said "Ocariner of Time" at 11:00 and 11:44, I'm not so sure anymore. O__o'
It's his accent. Brits add "r" to the end of words that end with "a", sometimes.
Idea - Idear.
I heard from another British RUclipsr that I watch (Lindybeige) that it's actually more like they add the R to the beginning of the word following the word ending with an A. Does a whole video about it.
Sorrowing Meadows (from Dust: An Elysian Tail) was a great horror level in a non horror game
Love this vid so much owo❤
I don't know why but that "leg end of zelda" joke made me laugh waaaay too much. XD
You see Caddi, this isn't the first video of yours that I've watched. So it was very expected. lol
Mine is from a game that has somehow avoided the spotlight, Pink Panther: Passport to Peril. It involves Pink Panther in a journey across the world, he has to retrieve certain items for some kids in this summer camp. Each time Pink returns to the camp, things seem to go wrong exponentially. The last time Pink returns to the summer camp is pure nightmare fuel, even for a mature person. I have no clue how people still don't know about this game and its shock value, even 20 years later I never read or see anything of this popping up in an article or a youtube video. It's impossible to describe, you'll have to watch it for yourself to understand.
The huge polygonal heads in Crash Warped terrified me so much that I was actually afraid of playing the game as a kid.
Also Ripper Roo's laugh haunted my dreams
4:00 alright, Caddy
This is a list about things that scared you, but that effect right there scared me. It scared me because as a child (for a long time) I had pictures of faces in just black and white like that effect in my head and they tortured me to no end.
Well at least you scared me :D
One of my top horror moments in non-horror games is THAT plot twist in Portal 2. I was really affraid. Also agree with you on the Zelda one.
chapter 9?
Aliens and time travel in Ecco was absolutely surprising. Kept me playing.
The Abe's Exodus part always cracks me up. Cute little Baby Abey. XD
Such a great RUclipsr
That last jump scare was so expected yet still successful.
14:43 I didn't know I was watching Jordan Underneath.
Videos like this remind me how young Caddy is.
Haha love the medievil music!! In the intro!!!!
I played a demo of Metal Gear Solid when I was really young and those guards chasing after you when you get caught is terrifying at that age, along with that music. I remember never trying it again as a kid because it made me feel absolutely helpless and trapped.
