    How tall are you? Do you recommend the 8 plus in front the Kinnarps 9000? Ive been looking to get Kinnarps and I am 171cm tall/short is the 8 plus ok regarding my height? Thanks for informative videos.

      I'm 1.73m. Kinnarps 9000 is more adapted to large / tall people. Rather go for Plus 8 :)

      Hows the seat? It kinda looks hard. Aside from that this looks like the most underrated chair ive seen. Its always the haworth fern or steelcase v2/amia yet they have major flaws imo. Its a disgrace the ferns back doesnt adjust up and down and all these $1000-$1500 chairs have the most ghetto headrests.

    Thank you for this video, Olivier! Based on your review I went to try the two chairs. I liked them both very much and now I can’t decide. I am left with two questions. You did not say anything about the option of extra cushioning for these chairs. My initial feeling was that the firm version (no extra cushioning) felt better. More immediate support. I kept coming back to the firm model. The sales rep in the store seemed to think I would be happier with the softer version. Being a man on the heavier side (~95 kg), I grow weary of softer furniture I tend to sink into after a while. The second question I have is about hip angels. I find a wider hip angel nice when I recline, relax and maybe watch a movie after work. Seems to me that the 6 plus lets you have a wider hip angel than the 8 plus. The 8 plus comes with a synchronized motion and a ratio of 1:1.5 (strange ratio) lifting the seat pan and thus limiting the option of wider hip angel. I would welcome any insight on these two subjects from you or anyone else who sits in any one of these chairs on a daily basis. Thank you for reading my comment.

    Don’t you need a way to adjust the tension and depth of the lumbar support?

  • @iGoHam2

    The stuff you state at 6:10 , that describes me completely. I’m looking for a chair to support my full back. Is that wrong? Should I make myself uncomfortable doing by sitting the “right way”

    Thank you for all the really helpful content. We use the Kinnarps 6000 at work and I really like them. I wondered if you're familiar with the Logic RH 220 chairs? They also seem to be very good. I'm looking at a chair for home.

    Fantastic video. I've watched most of them, and am learning more and more about correct posture and ergonomics. Kudos for making these videos eloquently, detailed and fun to watch.
    I do have one question. I'm based in the UK, and was wondering where you got a replacement for the armrest padding? My Kinnops Plus 8 armest pads are also ripped and looking worse for wear. Many thanks

      Hey dear! I got my armrests replaced once indeed, but they changed the whole armrest, not just the padding. To be very honest, I called the Swiss branch guys who know me very well and they just sent it by post. Have you tried to contact the UK office?

    I struggle with horrible back and neck misaligment, recently I had to alh in bed a lot using pillows for support,i got curved pillows with a bump for snack, and back, but I'm looking into chairs now. I think back and neck adjustment is crudial. Most office chairs I saw were horrible in Norway, so gaming chairs looked the msot promising then, as they had adjustable pillows for back and neck, I tried one in a local store, but somone on reddit linked to Kinnarp. By my upper back and neck feels to bad often i feel like I need to support it. I'm still skeptic but this chair got lots of neck support adjustment, but can't support the head and neck, and have to move the neck support if adjusting the lumbar support. I don't have any store nea rme selling this chair. I tried a Sedus chair which was awful no back support only a thin plastic thing to slide, but the Kinnarps sure is better than that, but no idea if it will be comfy or not. The Cepter gaming chair I tried had rocking I couldn't get rid of despite being locked and using spring adjustment. The Sedus was lockable. Is this the case with Kinnarps?
    I suspect I might still need a pillow to adjust tup and down for the back. Maybe not I don't know. My back is really unstable, easy to throw out, so I need to work on strengthening it.
    I want to sit properly but I basically need full adjustment and adjust soppurt for each spesific area on my back I think, due to the misaligment issues. I seem to have all possible back misaligment issues st some point. But the neck suppr looks good, but not sure if I will need support for the back of the head too. But my upper back, shoulder area is also problematic for me, recent I did a mountain bike ride seems like I got muscle tightness and upper back misaligment cus of it.
    At times I'm so bad I almost need a walker, and I lay in bed for hours, sometimes it can tak weeks before I can be active. But I bought a new mattress and supportive pillows which helps. But I still need to figur eout which chair to get. The gaming chair I tried was comfy but the was skeptic with the rocking, an dall other chairs not mentioned I can't try nor the Kinnarps. I wish I could try every chair locally.
    But atleast I can send the chairs back I don't like, unless it's a used chair from second hand market.

    I'm learning a language so I use my notebook to study for long periods of time, I will be grateful if you can dedicate a video for this topic.

      @@OlivierGirard I've been using Kinnarps 6243 at my old job and I love that chair. It is the best chair I've ever used because it prevents me from slouching. Is the Kinnaprs 6000/8000 plus better than the older model? On my old Kinnarps 6243, the headrest was getting very loose. Is this new headrest more robust?

    I don't know how to sit on it tbh. I sit on it like 10, sometimes 12 hours a day, at work and after work. I got use to sit on more plesant chair where I can just rest my back comfortably on the back of the chair, and this one doesn't seem to be good at it. It is a bit wierd when you hear that this is a feature, not a bug, because the chair is not comfortable. My old one, pretty used, is still more comfortable. So not sure what to do, should I sell it and just buy more comfortable one, or force myself to sit as you mentioned. It is opposite to clear for me. Testing Kinnarps Plus 8 for around a month now and still not sure what to do.

    Hi. I've seen you mention the Kinnarps 5000 in a couple of places. I've just got a used one. I'm finding the front corners of the seat have hard parts of the frame I can feel on my legs. Do you know whether that's a known thing for that model? (The foam might have compressed a little, but it's generally in good condition.)

    • @OlivierGirard
      @OlivierGirard  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! I have had this issue but on the backrest with the mesh version (at lumbar support level). That's why I always recommend the foam version. But reg. seat pan, I haven't noticed anything specific, no. Do you feel the same if you lower the chair by 1-2 cm?

    • @timgray5373
      @timgray5373 5 месяцев назад

      @@OlivierGirardThanks for the reply. This is a foam one. Lowering the seat does help, though my arms are then too low for the desk. Also my legs are oversensitive due to issues with the old chair. Settling in to it gradually!
