    Could you explain briefly how to interpret the stress pattern, do we look at the fringes or the colours? Closer the fringes higher the stress concentration? Thanks!!!😊

      It's the fringes, the closer the fringes the higher the stress concentration. 😀

    Hi Alex, great video! Thanks a lot for sharing how to show this effect. Just to be sure, you now place the second polarization filter in front of your cameralens. But do you also see the colors when you just look with your eyes through the second filter?

      yes, you do :-)
      Also, if your budget is low, you can find sheets of polarization filter by dismantling any LCD screen from an old laptop of TV.

    Hey Alex quick question Do they have a liquid formula that can be used of this and can you melt it to a liquid form

      Hi, works best with materials such as acrylic plastic that when set into solids have stress points that refract light in their shape. I am not aware of anything in liquid form that will demonstrate birefringence as liquids will be uniform in their refractive properties.
