I come from a modern arcade repair background and just got a job restoring vintage pinball machines. This is EXACTLY what I needed to get started on the right foot. Thank You.
Also, this is totally a lecture worth taking notes on.

It’s nice to see someone who knows a lot about EM Pinball tech that looks like it was made 40 years before he was born

Great talk, it was a little quiet, so I just turned the volume up and it was fine. Did I imagine it out did Nick join the wonderful broken token podcast for an episode? Might have had a lot of turkeys ;)

Just a point regarding the partially broken wire discussed in this video. It was not the voltage that prevented the relay from actuating but rather the lack of current. Higher voltage has more push but no push(current) Resistance in the line caused by bad connections or partially broken wires will show voltage or continuity but will not allow enough current to flow to pull in the relay. If you measure voltage when attempting to actuate the relay you will see it drop to something close to zero.

Granted, the audio could be improved. However, try headphones, up the volume, this may be help. Also, if you have fiddled with these machines, one can somewhat predict where he's going on the topic.

The 3 in one for motors is not meant for small motors. It says 1/4 hp or larger. I’ve used regular 3 in one for pinball score motor felt pads believe that is the correct method. Anyways cool u are spreading em knowledge gotta keep these historical tech machines alive.

possibly the worst audio on any video on youtube..and for such precious info..any way you can type up a transcript of this and post it somewhere..nearly impossible to pay attention to this garbled mess..really appreciate the effort..but i want to know what is being said!

Shame, really seems like fantastic stuff but I couldn't persevere with that sound.

I appreciate you being a clean cut kind of guy without long hair, tattoos and piercings like so many misguided young men your age today

Having long hair, a tattoo or piercing means a person is misguided? You have some strong biases. Misguided biases.
