Hey Bill, I just wanted to say I really appreciate all these installation videos you do. They've helped me out a lot whenever I'm working on my Mustang projects!
The lap belts install to the factory bolt on the rocker and the seat track. We will most likely not be installing them in a 2007 anytime soon but you can get dummy plugs from Ford to install in the harness to turn the light off. You will need to remove the harness from the factory seat and plug it in under the new seats and then use the dummy plug Ford sells.
The stock brackets and sliders are not designed to separate and will not line up with many aftermarket seats and they can be on the tall side as well. You might be able to use them but may be drilling additional holes.
Thank you! I didnt need the info on how to install....just wanted to make sure... harnessbar kept factory seat belt, because if it doesnt, then cars wouldnt be street legal.... so I was curious.... thanks! but everything you attached your straps to.....are not safe locking points for the straps..... all of those, can bend.... which can give slack, yea you cant submarine, but I still
Amazing video through and through. Curious about the actual seat bracket. Looks like you used Planted or someone like this. i am unable to find any for a Hyundai Accent. Seems like an unpopular car. Do you think that regular side brackets would work with a reclining seat on sliders and still be safe?
While a 5 point harness will do a better job of keeping you locked into your seat during an accident they are not DOT approved and not meant for daily use. That is why we made a point of showing you how to keep your stock belts in the car.
Im looking at installing racing seats for a reasonable price idk if I should get a shell or reclinable seat because my mustang is my daily and comfort will ne a big deal for my girlfriend lol.. but are the corbeau fx1 a comfortable seat for daily ?
where did you anchor the 2 lap belts on the car? is it possible for you guys to make a video install on a 2007 mustang gt in regards to dealing with airbag sensors and dash lights? i just ordered everything you have in this video my my 07 Gt and am now reading about all this wiring harness problems!
What size bolts and nuts did you use for the seat brackets you didn’t put that in tools needed and you didn’t show the drilling of that bottom bolt of the harness bar bracket
Simple question here... At 7:30, how are you threading that bolt, since you didn't drill a hole through the ''wall''? I just wanna know how to install the lower part of the harness bar...
With stock seatbelts the passenger can move a little bit more inside the cabin. In event of a rollover, stock seatbelts allow the passenger(s) to slide sideways and "lower their profile" so that the collapsing roof doesn't squish them. If a person were to have 5-point harnesses (or their equivalent) in the vehicle, the harness would hold their torso up so that only their head could move (and in a very limited manner). When the roof comes collapsing down, the occupant(s) torsos are held stiffly upright, and the roof causes either a broken neck, crushed vertebrae, snapped nerves, broken back, paralyzation. So never use a setup like this, you need a full roll cage to use 4 point / 5 point seatbelts.
You will need a retractable belt that is DOT approved for street use. IMHO all of the aftermarket belts are as safe or safer than the stock belts but they are not legal.
Bill I want a 3 point to put in my 00 due to the shoddy stock belts and no replacements available. I want to retain the stock belts for legal purposes, but what is your opinion on using a simple 3 point for street use? My stock belt is very loose, not very safe, and the "tricks" to make it retract don't work.
Easy question here hopefully... After taking out the seat buckle plug on the driver's side and mounting the buckle on the Corbeau, does it plug right back into the wire under where the seat sits? Or will I need some adapter since the power seat isn't on this one?
bought harness bar for 98 mustang ,,,the bar is too short wont reach sides... the bar is bought on ebay $215 what is the size for mustang 98 i got this bar 2 year ago __long car project ....
Is there any way of doing this installation without the harness bar? I would love to do this install for my non racing vehicles just for safety and still be able to have people in the back of my car.
I really like the seats and they are comfortable, but definitely snug. If comfort is your main concern, then don't get a bucket seat. Passengers will thank you.
I have a question I was looking to get some seats and harnesses but won't the seat belt light remain on because I'm not using the factory seatbelt?, how would I remove or bypass the sensor ?
theres always a way, but it would serve no purpose. the belts will keep you tighter, but the seat itself will not have enough strength, stiffness, and support for serious driving conditions and safety
im trying to buy some seats that comes with sliders, but my question is, can i use my STOCK BRACKETS to install the seats, add says ( will fit 99-04 mustang ALL MODELS) ..."they are not corbeau, sparco, greedy, spoon, drift etc.. just some aftermarket bucket seats.. =)
do you know where they got their interior, from? i would like to have everything black inside but i cant seem to find a place that has the interior parts i need.
It's not a roll bar, it's a harness bar. I've seen people just use the back bolts but if you get into a crash, your seat is not made to withstand the force, the main bend point is on the harness bar as opposed to the top two seat holes which they thread through. Those top two seat holes are NOT made to withstand the force of a crash, the harness bar is
Is there a way to install the harness with out using the cross bar? I'd like to keep access to my rear seats. If anyone knows I'd appreciate it thanks!
You can slide them all the way up and squeeze someone back there if you had to but fixed mount seats with harness bars are typically meant for rear seat deletes
I’ll never understand why go through the work of installing these fantastic harnesses if only to retain the factory seat belts if you’re spending the money to make it drag car equipped. I guess a lot of people do it for show. Beautiful car though
brad gannon No, you don't want people in the back. It's an injury concern if you would need to stop short or something like that, as they can easily whack their heads on the bar.
wouldnt skinny guys be okay??? the harness should hold you down i would think for big guys the problem is youd be sitting on the supports which is not very comfortable and you end up prematurely wearing the seat out... i can use a harness with no problem my problem is fitting within the supports
They are comfortable for a race inspired seat but for me (6'1 235) they would be snug for daily driving. I have sat in the wider seats but they are a little too wide and lose the performance aspect. For a daily driver IMHO I would prefer an adjustable seat.
exactly, he is to big for this seat, theshoulder belt angle is way off, also corbeau is junk realy, wanna buy a good bucket seat you either shoud go for recaro, sparco or cobra, all others are junk.
I can say great video ,but as far as corbeau products, they are junk,my driver side recliner adjuster broke first month and the upgraded dual adjustable seat brackets had bearings fall out several times.should have got recaro.these are the the leather and microsuede CR1,they weren't cheap, corbeau is terrible to deal with.

Awesome Bill. Definitely need to send this man some beer or beer money for the awesome installs....lol
Hey Bill just want to give a huge thanks for your video. It helped so much and saved me $$$$ your awesome thanks again
what about detaching the seat belt sensor?
Good video man, gave me a good idea of what to do on my r32 sparco seats. Thanks!
5 point harnesses are not DOT legal in most states so they are not considered a seatbelt. We kept the stock belts in place to stay legal.
Super informative life saver keep it up
Thank you for watching, we're glad we could help. Make sure you subscribe!
love it
That bar is specifically designed for a Mustang but they do offer bars for other vehicles.
Great job
I'm not a Mustang guy, but nice job on the vid guys.
Thank you! I didnt need the info on how to install....just wanted to make sure... harnessbar kept factory seat belt, because if it doesnt, then cars wouldnt be street legal.... so I was curious.... thanks!

This is bad ass man

The harness looks like it adds structural integrity as well...
Im looking at installing racing seats for a reasonable price idk if I should get a shell or reclinable seat because my mustang is my daily and comfort will ne a big deal for my girlfriend lol.. but are the corbeau fx1 a comfortable seat for daily ?

for the focus st the bracket come with the seat belt buckle mounting point?
Does mounting the submarine strap like that violate like any FIA rulings?
Simple question here...

do you have to buy sliders with it or do they come with the seat? & does the slider add a lot of height? CJ Pony Parts

There is a separate plug for the seat belt and it plugs right in
If your using a harness bar and harnesses on the street, instead of the 3 point belt, you might as well get your will up to date.
bought harness bar for 98 mustang ,,,the bar is too short wont reach sides... the bar is bought on ebay $215 what is the size for mustang 98 i got this bar 2 year ago __long car project ....
Is this harness bar only for Mustangs or will it fit all cars?
Are there bucket seats with harnesses that don't require harness bars?
Quick question I have a 87 gt mustang ,will this installation work with this year?
So this seats won't work or fit in a convertible mustang etc with harness ?
Is there any way of doing this installation without the harness bar? I would love to do this install for my non racing vehicles just for safety and still be able to have people in the back of my car.
The seats can be installed and used with the stock seatbelts without issue. The harness bar only need to be added if you want the 5 point harnesses.
Thank you. This helped a lot.
I really like the seats and they are comfortable, but definitely snug. If comfort is your main concern, then don't get a bucket seat. Passengers will thank you.
What’s the difference between this and the 9k seat by koseeenburg
What about that seat belt warning chime?
Same basic process for the 87-93 except the female seatbelt anchor is on the floor
CAN I INSTALL WITH NO HARNESS BAR?
Hi, I have a 1992 mustang 5.0 what tape of seats do you recommend.
Do the harness bar install the same way in a 87 mustang gt
I have a question I was looking to get some seats and harnesses but won't the seat belt light remain on because I'm not using the factory seatbelt?, how would I remove or bypass the sensor ?
+RobertAnthony Armani These belts are not street legal so they are for track use only. On the track I attach my stock seatbelt behind the seat
+Bill Tumas I was planning on getting dot legal harnesses the 4 point
I have an 02 convertible can I install the Corbeau harness bar
Welp im convinced, *opens bank account*
Is there anyway to install the harness bar and 4 point harness with the factory seats
theres always a way, but it would serve no purpose. the belts will keep you tighter, but the seat itself will not have enough strength, stiffness, and support for serious driving conditions and safety
Don't use 4 point harnesses. They are dangerous.
im trying to buy some seats that comes with sliders, but my question is, can i use my STOCK BRACKETS to install the seats, add says ( will fit 99-04 mustang ALL MODELS) ..."they are not corbeau, sparco, greedy, spoon, drift etc.. just some aftermarket bucket seats.. =)
would they work on 2016 mustangs?
do you know where they got their interior, from?
i would like to have everything black inside but i cant seem to find a place that has the interior parts i need.
Its a factory 99-04 charcoal interior
So where can I get it from?
Are the saleen seats for sale
why do you keep stock seat belt?
Are these street legal?
+juan diaz The harnesses are not DOT legal which is why we kept the stockers.
Can people still sit in the back seat
Very small flexible people maybe.
Do you have to keep the factory seat belt as well or can that be removed
The Corbeau belts are not DOT approve, no racing harnesses are. You need DOT belts to pass inspection.
Okay thanks
Bill Tumas Check out the Schroth Rallye 3 or Rallye 4 racing harnesses. They are DOT approved, but I'm unaware of any 5pt harness that is.
where can i find the harness roll bar for camaro 92?
what is the purpose of the roll bar? why didn't u just put that belt on the bolt on the back, instead on the rollbar?
It's not a roll bar, it's a harness bar. I've seen people just use the back bolts but if you get into a crash, your seat is not made to withstand the force, the main bend point is on the harness bar as opposed to the top two seat holes which they thread through. ? Lol
Is there a way to install the harness with out using the cross bar? I'd like to keep access to my rear seats. If anyone knows I'd appreciate it thanks!
No. You have to have at least a harness bar to keep you safe incase of an accident
how can i change my stock seats to power seats?
Ok say you don't want to install the harness bar can you mount it to the roof of the car
+gage west no it has to me mounted lower than your shoulders to the bar or the floor.
+Cj Pony I thought it was bad to mount harnesses to the floor in case your in an accident you don't go through spinal compression
+James Fitzsimmons The floor mount harnesses mount back further but I would only use them if there are no other options.
I'm just installing new seats cause the factory ones are terrible
lmfao same here
so 2 questions.
These will fit in a 2014 Mustang right?
and you can still use the stock seatbelts correct?
Yes these will fit in a 2014 with the correct Corbeau brackets. You will need to get a plug from your dealer or ebay to turn off the air bag light.
Can i have the old seat hahaha
With these seats i can't have backseat passengers?
You can slide them all the way up and squeeze someone back there if you had to but fixed mount seats with harness bars are typically meant for rear seat deletes
Are you able to install this in a 4 door car?
Yes
I’ll never understand why go through the work of installing these fantastic harnesses if only to retain the factory seat belts if you’re spending the money to make it drag car equipped. I guess a lot of people do it for show. Beautiful car though
Most aftermarket harnesses are not street legal so many people leave the stock belts for street use and save the harnesses for the track.
So with that bar can I still have pepol in the back n will it be ok for them
brad gannon No, you don't want people in the back. It's an injury concern if you would need to stop short or something like that, as they can easily whack their heads on the bar.
Are ok but if I padde it it would be ok
+brad gannon what? Lol
+CJ Pony Parts so then why didnt you take the rear seats out and reduce the weight even further?
+Jairo Calero I think he's asking of he covers the bar with protective padding would it be okay?
Ya there all grade 8 bolts. The only difference is they have not been cert by dot. That's because it's expensive
No access to the back seat aw!
does anyone make seats for bigger than a 40 inch waste?
We have several Corbeau options on our website that will fit up to a 42-inch waist.

i was hoping like a 46 but thank you... i guess i found my weight loss motivation
anything for us skinny guys ? haha like a 30 or smaller ? lol or am i going to have to wrap the seat in a blanket ? lmao
wouldnt skinny guys be okay??? the harness should hold you down i would think for big guys the problem is youd be sitting on the supports which is not very comfortable and you end up prematurely wearing the seat out... i can use a harness with no problem my problem is fitting within the supports
can I put some of these in my 06 sxt charger
They are comfortable for a race inspired seat but for me (6'1 235) they would be snug for daily driving. I have sat in the wider seats but they are a little too wide and lose the performance aspect. For a daily driver IMHO I would prefer an adjustable seat.
The wrap around is wrong. It should come bottom to top.
Pretty sketchy submarine mounting and shoulder belt angle.
I just bought an FX1...these things are FLIMSY. Not sure if I trust it....
exactly, he is to big for this seat, theshoulder belt angle is way off, also corbeau is junk realy, wanna buy a good bucket seat you either shoud go for recaro, sparco or cobra, all others are junk.

Sorry it will not work in a convertible
Those seats don’t fit you
Now 100% only fits two people lol
American muscle has been pissing me off lately.
