This will be the end of the "This will break you" breakcore mix series. It all started as a small project that I didn't intend to get anywhere near the views it did. It initially began when I found Zayto's youtube mixes, and after being inspired by some of them and speaking to him, I thought I would start documenting my journey into listening and exploring the genre and the sounds around it. Through these mixes I have met so many great and amazing artists, who I can now happily say are my friends. Throughout learning and falling in love with the genre, I discovered more and more, and wanted to eventually start doing something involving the genre. That was when silent breaks started, a charity album I organised using silent hill samples with breakcore and other associated genres where all proceeds would go to charity. Safe to say the project was amazing and worked as a great success (generating £200 for a mental health charity: Papyrus). Shortly after i wanted to start making my own music, which i still currently am. But as time went on, I realised I was slowly losing passion to be making the mixes, and not having the same inspiration I once had. As a result I lost interest in making the mixes. Therefore I came to the decision to stop making them. And go out with a bang, which is this mix. To date I feel this is my best mix, but you may feel otherwise. As for future plans of this channel there isn't really a general idea. Although I might eventually start making mixes for different genres, or maybe return to breakcore. But for now, I think it is time to call it a day. I want to thank every single person who has listened to my mixes, and I really hope you were able to find some great artists through them. Thank you all, xaoc.
I loved every single one of your mixes and thank you for making them! you showed me a lot of good breakcore artists and I am forever grateful for that. I hope you'll post your own music on this channel aswell!
@Solaire maybe eventually, i always wanted to try make my music without riding off the viewership of my channel, but if enough people are interested then maybe!
In a world of copy-paste sewerslvt/goreshit exlusive mixes on RUclips, these always stood out as being some of the only mixes on the website that actually showcased what breakcore was truly about, with a massive range of artists big and small, summarizing the niche in its current state quite well. I will always have respect for these. No, I'm not just saying that because one of my tracks was featured on this one.
@@jtucehok "oh nice, the same sewerslvt song that everyone else has in their mixes!!!!" thats what you sound like lol thats not discrimination, theres plenty of mixes with sewerslvt stuff out there everywhere lol.
@@ng4318 he could have chosen a less popular sewerslvt song, don't you think so? jk, i don't care, but at the moment i was listening to sewerslvt alot, and it kinda disappoited me not to hear a single song of his in 12 hours of breakcore.
I started discovering breakcore for the first time back in February. Of course, the RUclips algorith noticed and started recommending me more breakcore related videos. Among them was This will break you Volume 1. Up until this point I had only seen the entrance to the breakcore cave. It's dim and daunting, with no clear direction to go. This will break you takes your hand, lights a torch, and pulls you deeper and deeper into the cave, showing everything along the way. It shows you all the fascinating rocks and crystals, all the strange creatures and plants, and even some relics of time. And every last bit of it is wonderful. It has shown me what breakcore can be, and it has solidified breakcore as one of my favourite genres I've listened to. And now here we are, we've reached the end of the cave. And what an end. A large cavern with a collection of everything we've seen on our way here, and even some previously unseen things. This volume is definitely the best one out of all of them, period. So thank you, for taking everyone on this journey. I don't think I will forget these mixes soon, and I'll definitely revisit this wondrous cave in the future. And when you do start making mixes for other genres, know that I will be here to listen to and enjoy all of them, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I hope that one day you'll take us on another adventure into one of the many caves of music, and bring all of it's concealed beauty to light. No pressure though ;) -DS
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, I’m really happy I could give you such an experience, hopefully I’ll find some ambition and motivation to work on another series but for now it’s other things. Thank you very much for listening ❤️🫂
Well I now have a 12-video playlist to play on repeat during thunderstorms. Breakcore is magic, and I have you to thank for showing me so many incantations.
You listen to all the other breakcore mixes on youtube and you basically hear the same tracks over and over again, with minor variance and a small handful of notable exceptions. With these mixes you are guaranteed to hear not only a truckload of tracks you've never heard before, but a boatload of artists you've never heard of before but whose music you can now go and delve into, thanks to these mixes. And these mixes don't just seek out unheard-of stuff for hipster cred, disregarding whether the individual tracks are actually any good. Your mixes are all fantastic and diverse and give such an eclectic, fresh, great selection of breakcore. You can really tell how much work you've put into curating these and you've done an outstanding job. Thanks man
Thanks Josh for the kind words of appraisal! Though I think my mixes have improved over time, I’m glad someone has enjoyed a lot of the earlier ones despite the flaws that some of them may present. Thank you for listening ❤️
since this is the last This Will Break You Mix, I'm going to finally finish that bottle of Barbados, Mount Gay rum in celebration for the songs & artist I listened to and fortunately met in the discord. Thanks for getting me farther into the breakcore pit, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what is going to happen to this channel. Also hope to see some more Arcade Works in the future.
i just simply wanted to say thank you. these playlists used to and still do help me just reflect on things that I did in my past. some things i regret and some i'm glad i missed out on. these mixes saved my life in a way. thank you.
i look forward to the future of this channel if you continue to use it as a platform for whatever you do. i'm glad i've been along for the journey of these mixes, youve helped me through some rough patches. godspeed xaoc, much love
think it was one of your first mixes that got randomly recommended to me one day, listened to break core everyday since, thanks man love u, mix g oes hard 2
welp, it was definitely one hell of a ride, i'm at that point where half of the music in the breakcore mix is already in my playlist, nonetheless this series introduced me to ALOT of great artists. huge thanks
In one of these comment sections I said I want to start making breakcore. I made fun progress on that but haven't gone back to it in at least a month. I used my free time for reading manga and light novels and watching some anime... I want to get back into making that track, I'd love to focus into it completely and come out months later with some good songs. It's cathartic to finally craft some beats even though I can only chop breaks and and midi. I had an art project in school where I drew the grim reaper and similar stuff. Using the reaper daw this year is a fun redemption of that year.
I remember you commenting originally! I’m really happy you gave it a good go. I myself starting making music too! Good luck with the rest of your music journey, and also reading manga/light novel !
