    I tried GMRSlive a while back and really found it to be dead air for the most part. I did try a couple of nets and found the net controls were border line hostile. Was I just in the wrong places and do we have an Oklahoma branch that is active? I actually have another Shari sitting collecting dust so I am open to doing this but wanted your input on the deal before jumping back in .

Do I need to erase this and star from scratch?

    So now that I’ve pretty much got comfortable with setup, I noticed that above connect, it shows your node, name, and location. Did you set that part up off camera ? I followed everything step by step and that wasn’t in the tutorial. My node is in the system but that’s not showing on mine.
    Great video, also watched the one where you and HRD did, that’s the one that made it sink in my thick brain😂 got the bulk, now I need fine tuning.

    I have a question: I am trying to hook up a second node. I am going to use it in my car with WiFi. I set the second node up on the same network as my first. But the second node will not transmit, but it identifies. I see that you changed your bind port. Where did you get that other port. I am wondering if that is my problem.

    • @HamRadioCrusader
      @HamRadioCrusader  Месяц назад +1

      @@anthonyscialabba541 The iax bind port is mainly to allow incoming connections. It wouldn’t prevent the node from transmitting. So give me some information. What kind of node are we talking about? SHARI? Modified HT? Mobile Radio? What sound card interface are you using?

      @@HamRadioCrusader I am using a Raspberry Pi4 with a Aursinc RF Node. I already set up one node on my home network using the same setup. I can get my second node to connect to other groups while on the home network but it does not transmit. When I take the second node out to the car it registers on GMRS Live registry and identifies. But, again does not transmit. When I try to connect the 2 nodes whether it be 1 to 2 or 2 to 1 connections fails. I can't even use the DTMF codes to connect.

    • @HamRadioCrusader
      @HamRadioCrusader  9 месяцев назад

      Ummmmmm most of this is with the assumption that you are familiar with your own network. If you have a windows machine. In this video link if you look carefully you will also see your default gateway using this method. ruclips.net/video/oVHIQ-jqCho/видео.html

    • @jwatkins320
      @jwatkins320 9 месяцев назад +1

      I usually just run DHCP and the pi will configure all of that. If you run dhcp the first time, you can go into a bash shell and run ifconfig and it will tell you all of your network parameters. Then you can use that info to setup static IP with the IP you desire.

    I have a simple question, how can they call it GMRS Live...... they don't use any GMRS frequencies, so how can they claim this is GMRS? GMRS according to the FCC is a simplex or repeater based 1-25 mile range not connected to any network, specially the internet, so why call it GMRSLive when is all based on Allstar and VOIP.
