Thank you Freddie. I got this up and working and it seems to work fine as far as connecting and passing audio. But I'm seeing the "No Database Information" on my Allmon3 dashboard when I connect in from EchoLink. Not sure if that message is normal or if there is something that needs to be fetched to retrieve this database info? Other than that it seems to connect and work great. If you know of anything that will correct that please share it. Again thanks for providing these informative videos to us. I really appreciate all that you do! Take care. 73

On My AllStar link 3 install, I have EchoLink up and running but when I connect to an EchoLink node, I do not get the call sign listed on my allmon3 or supermon page . I get "No info [EchoLink 9999] (No info)". Running the echolink dbdump command it shows the database is populated. I'm assuming I have something set wrong somewhere. Any suggestions on where to look??

They are two seperate networks. I prefer TGIF because Brandmeister doesn't alway appreciate an analog node to connect to one of their busier talkgroups. So I choose TGIF

If you load Echolink on your Allstar node, it is available on any device that you use to access the Allstar node. For example, with Echolink on an Android phone, it is available only on that phone. With Echolink on the Allstar node, one may access it on an Android devices using the DVSwitch Mobile app, or using an FM transceiver into the Allstar node. I use my Yaesu FT-65R to access Allstar, Echolink, DMR and any other digital mode. See Freddie's other videos on how to set up your Allstar node with DVSwitch, enabling access to the digital modes. Enjoy!

Keep em coming Freddie. ASL3 is becoming the Swiss Army Knife of digital modes using analog radio. Who-da thunk it? So far I've got Allstar, DMR, YSF, Skywarn Plus up and operating. I do not have an application for the autopatch but you finally helped me get that stone out of my shoe, root access to sftp (I use MobaXterm) so I can use a proper text editor on those config files. Looking forward to the EchoLink video. A video on AllTune would be nice, we need a simpler way to tune talkgroups either from a webpage or from the DTMF pad on our analog radios.

i've been researching reverse autopatch, and since it's full duplex I assume you cannot use a simplex node; BUT if you enable vox so that the carrier will drop with a time out timer for protection to drop the call it may be practical for short and simple calls when your cell provider dies like at and t. I had vox enabled in a stanza on a brige to my freepbx device and it worked ok, had to understand the delay so saying "this is" every time I talked "fixed" that vox delay. I have a pair of 2 vhf moto's and a uhf on the way that I could make into a repeater, without a duplexer since I already have antennas I can switch on and off when I am at home using my base.

@daveborchard2019 Not really, unfortunately while early in Google Voice's life there were open APIs and XMPP interoperability, they closed it up. To the best of my knowledge there was even only one device manufacturer with phones, analog terminal adapters and mini-PBX that could connect to GV, ObiHai, which was acquired by Polycom. I have several of their products and use them every day. The good news is that the VOIP services are super inexpensive these days if you go prepaid and per-minute.

This will work with your home Wifi if you configured the router port forwarding. But if you are at a hotel or elsewhere where you don't have access to configure the port forwarding on the router or the owner of the WiFi refuses to allow the port forwarding? If WiFi is not available or the port forwarding is not possible, then cellular data is another option. However, I read in the forums that many cellular system do not allow port forwarding. Also mentioned in the forums, VPN using Wireguard or OpenVPN can be used to get around the problem when the cellular systems do not allow port forwarding. Wireguard is suppose to be superior to OpenVPN. But there are no instructions I've seen yet how to set up VPN on a cellphone to allow access to the AllStarLink network on cellular service that does not allow port forwarding. It would be very useful to learn how to use VPN to access the AllStarLink network on cellular services that do not allow port forwarding. Have you experienced the problem where you need the cellular connect to the AllStarLink network, but cannot connect because the cellular system does not allow port forwarding?
