Big warning if you plan to keep a big window in the walk in wardrobe, especially if direct sunlight comes in, the sun will fade out the colours out of the clothes! I literally had accidents when I pull out something that has been sitting folded on a shelf and the part exposed to the sunlight would be a totally different shade from the rest 😢
I lost some beautiful vintage dresses this way 😔 so I definitely second this!
That middle of Lidl bit 😄
It's so refreshing to see a beautiful and cozy home built with love and care vs. the extravagant/gigantic/excessive homes that many other RUclipsrs have. Your garden is also so lovely - I can't wait to see it all come together!
I just love the renovation/moving content, books, fashion. Literally my 3 favourite things. You have such a special and specific taste for everything which I love. Love your content!
I finished making my coffee the minute you posted this thank you universe!
Your dining room looks lovely. I would leave that room without curtains as it's so beautiful with the doors looking out to your lovely garden. At the moment I'm reading All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr - wow what a beautiful and well written novel, am really enjoying reading this book.
What you’ve done with your house is gorgeous- you should be very proud!
Good to see you. So happy for you and Dean. It's exciting to have a fresh start. You will settle in and find your rhythm ❤
loving all the styling in this video, it feels like your style has had a mini update, also those sun/glasses are perfect! and that dragon bag of course! great to see house updates and cannot wait to see the finished bathroom!
Hey - it’s all coming together - you both deserve a pat on the back 👏
Thank you Brittany for mentioning a Ukrainian brand HVOYA! I have a pair of their mules, so comfortable and unique. It amazes me how even when the war now they are manage to successfully function and come up with new great stuff... So resilient and creative, I am so proud of them!
The bookcase looks amazing already!❤
I’ve had the same dragon diffusion bag for 2 years now and it’s still a fav.
As for making it more city-prove, what I’ve been doing is to just put a dust bag in it and and fix it with a safety pin to the woven leather at the bottom of the bag!
So excited to get your vlog and see the work on the house. I think Dean deserves his big tv lol . Shop your closet is the best❤
Always happy with the new videos!
Definitely, this is my fav content on RUclips.
Happy to hear you support Ukrainian fashion brands, Brittany! Thank you
Hahaha your middle of Lidl chat 😂
If you loved Pachinko, I would recommend Girl, Woman, Other for a very similar journey through multiple generations! A very robust read as well.
The middle of Lidl, love it :)
Book recs!
1. A tree grows in Brooklyn- such a heartwarming and delightful read. Did not want it to end
2. A severed head- thought this one was interesting and the plot was wild
3. Anything by Elena ferrante- love her writing style so much! Read days of abandonment this year and rlly liked it
4. How not to drown in a glass of water- great engaging and quick read about a woman in her 50s trying to re-enter the workforce in NYC. Unique writing structure too
Thank u for the house tour …. The bookcase/dining room area is beautiful! ❤
Love the bookcase and the living space in general, and it’s only going to get nicer I’m sure. Congrats on the move! 🤍
Thank you! 🤍
i’m really loving the chunky squarish Numbering hoop earrings they’re super affordable on ssense. the bold red button up looks so good!
A Fine Balance..read years ago and still brings me back to it when I see it on my shelf. Amazing book…
I know we've talked about this before but keep that fireplace mantel natural, it's so beautiful as is. Glad you're both settling in nicely :)
I would really recommend the Possession by Antonia Byatt. She actually got the Booker prize for this one in 1990. Such a beautiful plot and rich language. Thank you for the video!
Congratulations 🏡!!! Thanks for another great video!! ❤
Thank you! ❤️
loving the bookcase!
the vanishing half is the best best book ive read this year so far, and has become one of my all.time favourites
Congrats on the house updates :) really loving that bathroom tile and your dining space
31:04 bookcase looks wonderful as it is. Like a cosy old library 😍
Watching you putting outfits together makes me wanna jump into my closet and start playing dress up 🤗
I’m a new subbie and I’ve been loving your videos! Your new bookcase is STUNNING and I really admire your outfits too.
Please Brittany expand on ‘wolds most uncomfortable sofa’ as it is on my wish list. Also, if you wouldn’t mind naming the brand of the large white paper rumpled lamp, love it.
Thankyou and huge congrats on your beautiful new home 🎉 out fits and Reno is perfect ❤
Love this vlog so much! Especially because I’m starting a renovation and am taking all the inspiration I can!
On books, I’ve been really into the Broken Earth series. So so good. Has a Dune vibe, but in a more feminine voice.
I'm exciting for your next video!!
Love the bookcase!
Love the bookcases 👌🏾✨
I have that same Arket vase. When it is empty of flowers, I put an object in the bottom. It makes for a beautiful display.
Dining room looking good!
Congrats on the house! Can’t wait to see how the renovations go!
Books recommendations: Lessons by Ian MCewan and A Man In Full by Tom Wolfe
Thanks for your content, I love your videos!
😊❤
I really like your sense of humour 😂
I like the dark block in your hair! Great colour.
Book rec! I loved “Big Swiss.”
Very entertaining read!
wow i just adore your style and your house is so gorgeous!!!!! haven't been watching youtube much but checked out your vid cause of the dragon diffusion bag I seriously adore it I had just been looking at their website a week before! also I gotta say I think I need you to post like outfits on tiktok I feel like that would do so well!!! i basically instantly went on there to check if I could follow you but anyways love the videos!
The middle of Lidl ❤
Looks like the house is coming together! I recently moved into a new place too, and was wondering where you’ve sourced your curtains? Having a lot of trouble finding anything good!
my fav moment of the vlog is Britanny's little rant about Lidle haha
That swan shot in the rain! omg
Such a loving place. I agree with the Cortines transforming a space and making it more cozy.
Also in a reading slump at the moment! Have always loved your recommendations - pachinko also remaining one of my all time favourites! I think you would love ‘I who have never known men’ - such a gripping story, quick, easy read and such a page turner. Read it in two days as couldnt put it down!
Noticed you have More Than This by Patrick Ness on your bookshelf. An absolutely stunning read, one of my favourites of the last 3-4 years.
Ahh I just love the red ❤
Loved the house updates! Some books that I’ve read this year that I loved and that you might enjoy 😊: Crying In H Mart, Shuggie Bain, Cleopatra and Frankenstein, Ariadne, Memphis, Olga Dies Dreaming, In The Dream House..
I second the Shuggie Bain recommendation. Brilliantly heartbreaking and funny in equal measure.
Love the vlog - wishing you luck re finding places for things! If you’d enjoyed Pachinko, I quite enjoyed “How we disappeared”. I found it to be similar in spirit in a way.
Two of my favourite reads from recent times that I think you might really enjoy are Biography of X by Catherine Lacey and Trust by Hernan Diaz. Also an older book I finally got around to was Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, and I adored it.
Book recs! 1) Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver is such a compelling story with lots of memorable characters. It follows the main character through many years of his childhood and chronicles the challenges he undergoes in his poor, rural community that’s inundated with addiction and difficult family dynamics. One of my favorites ever. 2) Shelter by Jung Yun is engrossing from the very beginning and just continues to pull you deeper in. Lots of emotions and suspense. It centers around a Korean American family. 3) Recently I finished Tim Murphy’s book Correspondents and I didn’t like it as much as Christodora, but I’m curious what you’d think. Not sure if I’d actually recommend this one though. It’s a bit slow going.
Just finished Correspondents after loving Christodora - I agree, it is a bit slower but I’m glad I pushed through as by the halfway mark I was completely into it and couldn’t put it down! I travelled to Lebanon a few times and loved it there, so I actually loved the first bit about the history, etc. it’s definitely more ‘geopolitical’ than Christodora. But I believe if you love that sort of things it’s a winner. Looking forward to his new book too. Will check out your also recommendations too
Love your style very much!! Which fragrances do you combine with your outfits?
would love to see a little scent collection
The Push, Berlin (Bea Setton), The Book of Form and Emptiness, and The Dinner (Herman Koch) all good books from this year!!
Congratulations on your moving 😊 and ups and downs are normal. The weather is a little bit warmer (22-25)where I live but it’s also raining (showers) with a few hours of sun. So I understand when you say it’s not easy to dress up with that ever changing weather. You had me laugh with the middle in Lidl. Had no idea you also had Lidl in England with their new products that drive people crazy 😅 My half-brother is always on the lookout and ready to rush to the store to get a new air fryer 😅 I smiled because I have just read 5 books by South Korean authors and decided against buying Yellow Face but changed my mind and went back to the bookstore yesterday only to find it closed 😅 I will get it tomorrow. As for books recommendations you have enough and I have seen a few of my favorites already proposed. Thanks for the video and the book talk was still very interesting. As you see many book lovers here !
i actually really like the kitchen renos! What finish is on the cabinet panels?
I'm so deeply curious about the middle of Lidl!
Love your vlogs! Do you mind talking about your work at the gallery? I´m very intrigued about how is the work there. Thank you!
I love the R+Co DART Pomade Stick! re: instead of carrying around gel!
"Station Eleven" by Emily St John Mandel was interesting
I read Pachinko after you raved about it and absolutely loved it. I'm now almost finished with the Eight life from Nino Haratischwili and I think it's very much in the same vain (history and multi generational). Haven't finished yet but it's beautiful. The same goes for East of Eden by Steinbeck. Wasn't sure about it at first but really got into it after a bit
Tbh I’m not that into home Reno but you all have such great taste that I cannot wait to see how the house comes together and I really like what you’ve done so far. That bookcase!😍
The book
Copper Demonhead is great!
Love your videos!! X
For the pot to fill in your gel, I'd use an empty black pot from LUSH. 😊
Before I go to sleep is a book that stays in my thoughts
Hi Brittany, I read Christodora on your recommendation and loved it, I also love T&T&T and Pachinko, I would recommend Donna Tartt, The Secret History, but even more The Goldfinch, I thought I loved the TSH more when I was reading them, but looking back I think about The Goldfinch way more, the story stayed with me, can't recommend enough.
Really enjoyed Pachinko! Highly recommend the photography book Black Ivy: A Revolt in Style and the podcast American Ivy/Articles of Interest all about the sartorial exchange between the US and Japan.
My two favourite books are 1. All the light we Cannot see by Anthony Doerr and 2. The Secret History by Donna Tartt . In fact I have reread both .
Love test cricket too...and equally passionate about the Ashes, especially being an Aussie ;)
What an ending for Stuart Broad 🥹🫶🏻
Loved this one, I feel so calmed after I start my Sunday! I would really recommend Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield. It’s the first book I’ve read in a long time that had my intrigued from the beginning (reminded me of Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier) it was velvety and gorgeous! X
Highly recommend the Tearling book series!
Have you read the paper palace? Its lovely, and I feel like you would really enjoy it 😊
Lol the LIDL part made me laugh - I, being from Germany, had no clue that the middle part was a thing
Also struggling with reading. Yellow Face looks good. Last year so read a few good ones your haven’t mentioned yet: Leave the World Behind, and Rodham (a really great read)
The small sistema pots would be good for the hair gel
I also loved pachinko ❤ the book of the year for me (I was late to the hype) is The Hearts Invisible Furies. Incredible. Can’t stop thinking about it. Be warned it’s heartbreaking in many ways
If you haven’t yet read Elena Ferrante’s series the Neapolitan novels (4 books), I highly recommend them! I loooved pachinko and wild swans like you, so I think you’ll love these books too. They are about two friends growing up in Naples and becoming women and they are simply wonderful books!!
I also definitely understand your feeling of seeking books that give me the same level of joy as my favourites, and it isn’t easy! I’ve been struggling this year as well
was also going to recommend Neapolitan novels! on book 3 right now and I’m already dreading finishing the 4th because i’ll miss the characters so much ❤
Hiya ….Omg i’m so going through the same reading slump journey has you and feel exactly the same as you said about trying to get that same feeling that pachinko gave. I actually don’t think I’ve read a book as good as Pachinko. The book means so much to me as I was going through I really bad time when I read that and that book as you said just enthralled you and saved me from the reality I was in. l’ve not really a boom like that since. I have read christodora and I like that. I’m just about to finish a book and going either start Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow 0:01 or Circe. P.S. well done on the kitchen! That is amazing set up. Love the house.
The house looks amazing 🤩 One great book suggestion that I give to everyone is Shantaram (Gregory David Roberts) you may have read it already, It’s been around a while but it is so good!! Based on his life story. It’s one of those that you don’t want to finish😊
It’s high on my TBR list ❤️
Always pleased to see a BB YT! Now, books I’ve enjoyed (not all new): Yellowface, To the Bright Edge of the World, The High House, August Blue (but The Cost of Living is my favourite Deborah Levy), Mieko Kawakami’s Breasts and Eggs, Min Jin Lee’s Free Food for Millionaires, The Velveteen Daughter, Jessica Au’s Cold Enough for Snow*, Adriane Howell’s Hydra*, Robbie Arnott’s Limberlost*, The Animals in That Country*
(* Australian fiction)… oh dear, I need to get out more
Yay for book chat! Would recommend either of Jessica Andrews’ books if you haven’t read.
"Our Share of Night" was great-it also involves a dark secret society but avoided feeling tropey to me. It reminded me of Piranesi in some respects. "There's No Such Thing as an Easy Job" was also a super enjoyable read. It's got a lot of that Japanese whimsy/magical realism balanced with super relatable millennial angst over what we we want out of our careers or lacks thereof.
Book recommendations:
- Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton
- Enter Ghost by Isabella Hammad
- Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Always love your videos Brittany! Very random one but where is your bed from? x
Thank you! 🤍 it’s from Muji
moving is the worst :( and I hope you will find your missed jewelry, how sad. Enjoyed the vlog a lot, thank you
Muji has nice containers for hair gel on the go options ;)
Ooh, great suggestion!
Hi Brittany! Where did you have that gorgeous Pavlova? 🤩
Hi Brittany! Do you by any chance post when you're going to do a drop on Depop? I seem to always miss it :((((. As a soon-to-be student on a big bad budget, I get so excited by the prospect of sourcing clothes I actually like second-hand
Just finished The Villa by Rachel Hawkins. Currently reading Bad Summer People by Emma Rosenblum, and Shakespeare Was a Woman and Other Heresies by Elizabeth Winkler
remarkably bright creatures
Hello! Do you have links to the Tata Harper products? Love the lippy on you and have a similar complexion!
The Rook is a TV Series made in UK with a lot of familiar faces in the cast, now available to stream its great not as good as the book OBVS but still good. There is also a second book Stilleto that continues where The Rook leaves off. The Anomaly sounds like Manifest TV show but unlike The Rook series I have not read it.
Hi Brittany. I’ve just read A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hosseini. Not a recent book but a great one and would definitely recommend.
House at the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is one of the best and most wholesome books I’ve ever read. Under the Whispering Door by the same author is also excellent.
Totally agree. Beautiful writing.
Yes ! TJ Klune book ! Loved it!
where are those pearly earrings from?? lovely as always
bathroom teals look amazing :) can I ask where is your big mirror from? (the one you're filming your outfits in)
It’s from The White Company. Got it back when I worked there, so I’m unsure if they still sell it.
