assyrian here as well, we don't speak aramaic, we speak NEO-aramaic, which is aramaic with a LOT of akkadian influence, i know both aramaic and assyrian neo-aramaic and they're not close at ALL, besides being in the same language family group

The Middle East had many messengers sent to it and every time period, most followed the most recent prophet. They all were idol worshippers, then followers of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and most recent Mohammed (peace be upon them).

I learned how to sing the lord's prayer in Aramaic. Very beautiful. The first time I heard it being sung it made me cry. I knew I had to learn it after that. One of my most happy achievements.
I met a man from this town in my local church, I have never before met someone so filled with the holy spirit, he didn't even have to say anything, his presence made my hairs stand up and made me cry many times and feel the most profound joy that I've ever experienced.

Actually Islam never never needs anyone to apologize for what it teaches because you won't find any teaching that encourages destroying or insulting other peoples' faith. If there is war in a Land where politics is involved than all people in that land will be affected regardless of their faith. @@swat2788 There are still people who speak it. I studied abroad in Wales in graduate school. The Welsh language must be taught there up to age 12. This is done to prevent the language from completely dying out due to the prevalence of English. Wales is making sure all young people know their “mother tongue.” As long as a language is still spoken somewhere, it is not completely dead. Aramaic is considered an endangered language, not a dead language. So I’m laughing at you.
Insha’llah, the Aramaic language will be preserved for centuries to come. Let’s also pray for the indigenous peoples of N. America, whose languages are going extinct because of the invasive, uninvited Europeans who came and stole everything from everyone they encountered on the continent when they established The USA and Canada. Assyrian is a dialect of Akkadian, not aramaic. Both languages and people are Arabic. I've seen some assyrians who think they're not Arabs. They think that they somehow are the original Iraqis and that the rest of the Arabs came from yemen. It's simply not true. The Arabs of Iraq are pretty much all of Amalekite descent. They're Akkadian. Your ancestors simply didn't adopt modern/quraishi/fus-ha Arabic for the sake of Islam and that's why you speak Assyrian today. That's also why assyrians today are Christians. Where did you get your info from? Christianity wasn't forced on us here they had a blood pact with the rajas and datus here in the Philippines and most of us converted to Christianity not by force. @@lanngunn6512 sure! I love talking about this, lol. So basically the difference between us and Catholics is that we are eastern, while Catholics are western. So we have a lot more mysticism, while Catholics are more fact-oriented and want to be able to explain everything, we are willing to let things be unexplainable. Us Orthodox also don't use statues like Catholics do. Theologically, they believe that the holy Spirit proceeds from the father and the son, while we believe that the son proceeds from the father. We also use all the books of the Bible, while Catholics reject some books (I believe it's Maccabees) and the protestants reject even more books. We are extremely traditional and still use hymns written more than a thousand years ago. We are the holy Catholic and Apostolic church, as it has been since it was invented. (We are Catholic, but not Roman. Catholic just means universal, and apostolic means descended from the apostles, our patriarch can list his predecessors all the way back to St. Peter.) This barely scratched the surface so if you have more questions I'd be happy to answer them!

@@lanngunn6512 pretty much all forms of Orthodoxy are essentially the same, but there are outliers, like churches that accept heresy and false doctrine. I think that Assyrian Orthodoxy might be one of those outliers, I know for sure that Bishop Mar Mari is a nestorian ( which is a heresy that states that Mary is not the mother of God, only the mother of Jesus. Which would seem to mean that Jesus is not fully Man or fully God, which is theologically incorrect.) But I'm not sure if the whole of the Assyrian Orthodox church is nestorian.
@mochisprite9779 Catholics believe in the filioque, that the Spirit proceeds from the Father through the Son. Orthodox believe that the Spirit proceeds from the Father alone. No Christian denomination I know of says that the Son proceeds from the Father and the Spirit.

While I am atheist, I do recognize the importance of this language as being major to the history of Christianity, same way Jerusalem is important to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and should at least be archived if not treated the same way as Roman as being a language from the past that should not and shall not be forgotten.

I'm Assyrian from Iraq but half my family is from Syria. I speak "modern" Assyrian and have a hard time understanding what they're saying at first but after a few sentences it starts to make sense. I assume people who speak Arabic and Hebrew would also understand a lot of it because I can also understand those languages.

I think modern Assyrian means the Suret language. Could also be Turoyo I guess but since he specified Iraq it is probably Suret. Syriac is different. I think all 3 are dialects that evolved from Aramaic but are distinct. I might be wrong though.
I think the distinctions are like Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian. Mutually intelligible with dialectal differences, like Chaldean for example. I've met Chaldeans in San Diego and all of them understood whatever I said in Assyrian. Fascinating nonetheless. @@strpet27

I was born and raised in part of MA that was settled by Syrian Christians and Christians from Lebanon who were forced out by the arab muslims who invaded that area and many children and friends when by ships to the Americas, in the 1900's. I went to school with them and some from Lebanon had Indian ancestry. these Indias with families and supplies left India by the thousands to stop the invading arab muslims who were forcing the people of many countries to convert or die. these people become the roma people who when very far into Europe and some left them and converted to Christianity in Lebanon. I learn this from a Indian man who had the last name that was like Lebanon family that married into my brother's family and I told him that my niece and nephew had dark coloring around their eyes which were like many of the Indians I saw in the office. He told me that story of where my niece father in laws family came from. sad also is not now I leave in a CT town were Armenian children settled after the Muslim from Turkey invaded their ancestrial home and killed or made child slaves during the time of WWI. they children after losing their family were placed on a ship to America.

@@swat2788 There are still people who speak it. I studied abroad in Wales in graduate school. The Welsh language must be taught there up to age 12. This is done to prevent the language from completely dying out due to the prevalence of English. Wales is making sure all young people know their “mother tongue.” As long as a language is still spoken somewhere, it is not completely dead. Aramaic is considered an endangered language, not a dead language. So I’m laughing at you.

(6) 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
In order to get saved, repentance of one’s sin is needed to get saved, we need to be sorry, and repent, with conviction, that we are a wretched sinner.
(7) Romans 10:9 KJV [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
If you truly do believe in everything you have heard in the gospel, ,I strongly suggest you to make a proclamation to GOD! You can say it to God in less than 15 seconds !Repeat after this simple prayer, to make sure you truly get saved. Remember repeating this prayer doesn't save you, it's you telling God you BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. Ok, here is the prayer :

Both languages and people are Arabic. I've seen some assyrians who think they're not Arabs.

1. Modern Assyrian derives from both Aramaic and Akkadian.

Moreover, Assyrians speak their language, Assyrian, because their ancestors taught their descendants Assyrian, not because they did not accept Arabic for Islam's sake.
4. DNA evidence quite literally proves the opposite of your claims. Do you have any evidence to prove accordingly with your bold and controversial statement? @@lanngunn6512 sure! I love talking about this, lol. So basically the difference between us and Catholics is that we are eastern, while Catholics are western. So we have a lot more mysticism, while Catholics are more fact-oriented and want to be able to explain everything, we are willing to let things be unexplainable. Us Orthodox also don't use statues like Catholics do. Theologically, they believe that the holy Spirit proceeds from the father and the son, while we believe that the son proceeds from the father. We also use all the books of the Bible, while Catholics reject some books (I believe it's Maccabees) and the protestants reject even more books. We are extremely traditional and still use hymns written more than a thousand years ago. We are the holy Catholic and Apostolic church, as it has been since it was invented. (We are Catholic, but not Roman. Catholic just means universal, and apostolic means descended from the apostles, our patriarch can list his predecessors all the way back to St. Peter.) This barely scratched the surface so if you have more questions I'd be happy to answer them!

@@lanngunn6512 pretty much all forms of Orthodoxy are essentially the same, but there are outliers, like churches that accept heresy and false doctrine. I think that Assyrian Orthodoxy might be one of those outliers, I know for sure that Bishop Mar Mari is a nestorian ( which is a heresy that states that Mary is not the mother of God, only the mother of Jesus. Which would seem to mean that Jesus is not fully Man or fully God, which is theologically incorrect.) But I'm not sure if the whole of the Assyrian Orthodox church is nestorian.
@mochisprite9779 Catholics believe in the filioque, that the Spirit proceeds from the Father through the Son. Orthodox believe that the Spirit proceeds from the Father alone. No Christian denomination I know of says that the Son proceeds from the Father and the Spirit.

While I am atheist, I do recognize the importance of this language as being major to the history of Christianity, same way Jerusalem is important to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and should at least be archived if not treated the same way as Roman as being a language from the past that should not and shall not be forgotten.

I'm Assyrian from Iraq but half my family is from Syria. I speak "modern" Assyrian and have a hard time understanding what they're saying at first but after a few sentences it starts to make sense. I assume people who speak Arabic and Hebrew would also understand a lot of it because I can also understand those languages.

I think modern Assyrian means the Suret language. Could also be Turoyo I guess but since he specified Iraq it is probably Suret. Syriac is different. I think all 3 are dialects that evolved from Aramaic but are distinct. I might be wrong though.
I think the distinctions are like Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian. Mutually intelligible with dialectal differences, like Chaldean for example. I've met Chaldeans in San Diego and all of them understood whatever I said in Assyrian. Fascinating nonetheless. @@strpet27

I was born and raised in part of MA that was settled by Syrian Christians and Christians from Lebanon who were forced out by the arab muslims who invaded that area and many children and friends when by ships to the Americas, in the 1900's. I went to school with them and some from Lebanon had Indian ancestry. these Indias with families and supplies left India by the thousands to stop the invading arab muslims who were forcing the people of many countries to convert or die. these people become the roma people who when very far into Europe and some left them and converted to Christianity in Lebanon. I learn this from a Indian man who had the last name that was like Lebanon family that married into my brother's family and I told him that my niece and nephew had dark coloring around their eyes which were like many of the Indians I saw in the office. He told me that story of where my niece father in laws family came from. sad also is not now I leave in a CT town were Armenian children settled after the Muslim from Turkey invaded their ancestrial home and killed or made child slaves during the time of WWI. they children after losing their family were placed on a ship to America.
