Fuck, this song brings back so many memories. My little brother and I went to see them 3 times. The first time we went was my first time crowd surfing. He passed away a week ago and I've just been listening to all our music we loved together
Does anyone else listen to him and realize, "he should probably legitimately see a therapist and/or take medication"? Idk when I was younger I used to be all like "ah yeah man that was so brutal", but now more when I listen to his music I can hear the desperation and authenticity in his voice, like he's someone who's actually feeling it. Kind of like Landon Tewers from The Plot in You.
Speaking as someone who was a musician in this scene back then- mental illness was encouraged and celebrated. We were all fucked up and indulging in it. I guess it was therapeutic to get that energy out through music - for a time. Eventually being that angry and bitter made me worse. I’ve since found much healthier ways to cope with life
This band literally started an entire new style of metalcore with just the WAH effects/automation and chaotic dissonant riffs. Dealer, Alpha Wolf, Diesect, Diamond Construct and others.
Kinda feel like they even influenced Knocked Loose tbh. But truthfully, all these bands are influenced from The Acacia Strain, Emmure or the The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza lol.
Regardless of what kind of "core" you want to call it, these guys make good music and deserve to be where they are today and I hope they keep going for a long ass time.
I miss this band so much. I remember first hearing this in high school, shit fucked back in the day and it fucks even harder now. Wish they had gotten bigger than they were, they had something special going on

Hands down one of my favorite bands, its so great to see a band come from playing local shows in small venues to now being known almost everywhere. Midwest hardcore makes everything better.
@@robstevens1635 Kingmaker came first. They're a huge influence on the sounds of Barrier, Sworn In, Villains, Yuth Forever, and more. The leftist political themes of their 2012 Stay Asleep EP didn't exactly carry over but the screams and riffs very much did
First time listening to sworn in. These vocals are so fucking angry its insane. Sure you here screams and growls all the time, but the feeling you get when you're listening to just pure hate... Ive only ever gotten it from Slipknot and Chelsea Grin.
GetScaredGaming Dude, listen to The Plot In You's latest record and song and check out Landon Tewers'(vocals/creator of TPIY) solo stuff. That dude sounds so pissed and passionate, I love his vocals.
This band really deserved to be part of Fearless Records congrats on that guys. Fearless is my favorite label and you guys sound feels like it belongs with that label.
Can’t believe it’s been ten years. I remember, I just got my drivers license and I almost drove 100miles by myself, cause none of my friends were into this kind of music, just to see them play in the tiniest club venue with barely fifty people there. Probably the best night of my life. Screaming at the top of my lungs, flailing my arms and legs and banging my head. I spend hours after the gig talking to Tyler about music and all kinds of shit. Good times
they went into very "emo" direction lyrics wise and people kind of stopped listening to them, because majority was listening since this album or start/end

This song is criminally underated. I play this constantly. Great song
A metal band on VEVO that doesn't suck? I didn't think I'd ever see such a thing. Top-notch song.
"Snake Eyes"
Shoot me fucking dead
Take me away from this place
Cause all I see here is your god damn face
Torturing me
Infecting my life
If this is all I see I'd rather go blind
Play this game with me
Walk to the end
Roll your mother fucking dice and play again
No hope for you or I
We are all blind, we are all blind
The start is the end and the end is the start
No sight, no love, no friends, no heart
I'm in the dark
We're in the dark
These bags under my eyes are getting darker
And I've never heard of sleep
The herder is a fucking illusion
There's no hope for the sheep
At the end of the day I could say I'm haunted
Can't tell if I'm dead or just fucking unwanted
At the end of the day I could say I'm haunted
Shoot me fucking dead
I'll let my eyes roll back into my head
Wishing I was dead, wishing I was dead
If I could take back every single word I've said
Maybe I'd be less unwanted
Maybe I'd be fucking dead
Snake eyes rolling back into my head
Wishing I was dead
Wishing I was dead
So much raw visceral emotion in this song
Sworn in is fucking amazing, how they tune their guitars so damn low and still sound good is beyond me.
Saw them back in highschool and this is still a favorite
