"Raju (Raj Kapoor) comes to Mumbai to create a name for himself and make a fortune. After he loses all his possessions, he meets Vidya (Nargis), a teacher who runs a private school, and both fall in love. Raju soon gets a job in a laundry and meets Maya (Nadira) when he goes to deliver some clothes to her. Maya finds that Raju is good with cards and takes him to a casino where he wins Rs.20,000 but unfortunately the money is pocketed by Maya. A rich industrialist, Sonanand Dharmachand, approaches Raju, hires him to work for him, and starts exploiting Raju's conscience by showing him money. Raju falls for the greed and soon differences start to create between him and Vidya. Watch to know what happens with Raju and Vidya’s relationship and Raju’s life journey.

I see that movie maybe at 1960 in USSR-Uzbekistan, Tashkent when I have 7~8 years. The best, for me, was the song: Mud mud ke Na Dekh, mud mud ke. Beautiful song!

This movie was released in 1955 ... Just 8 years after Pakistan/India came into existence. Just imagine. Majority of the people in this movie are already dead. We're watching dead people act and sing.

Yo aprendí inglés solo para ver estas películas jajaja.
Mira se trata de un hombre muy pobre pero honesto que llega a la ciudad en busca de trabajo pero ve que no hay, le roban, lo explotan, la pasa mal pero se enamora y por buscar dar dinero fácil se vuelve sin querer en estafador jugando a las cartas. Luego vendedor de oro y finalmente estafa a gente muy pobre con la promesa de darle una casa a solo 100 rupias. La mujer que se enamoró de él se decepciono mucho y esa parte la verdad me hizo llorar porque él se portó como un patán con ella y le dijo que había aprendido que solo siendo así lograría dinero pero poco a poco se va dando cuenta que el no es así realmente y ese camino no es bueno para nadie
Al final ellos dos vuelven porque el entiende que no está bien ese camino de estafas y así pobres al menos son personas honestas y duermen tranquilos por las noches xd

I wish you had not mutilated this beautiful movie by changing the aspect ratio and chopping off heads and legs of the actors in many scenes.
Why don't you try and find a better quality than this and upload it! I'll watch it , I promise!
Zeeshan Durrani - Shemaroo did have this movie on RUclips in the original 4:3 aspect ratio but they removed it and substituted with this mutilated version in16:9 aspect ratio.
