Luckily today, i was fortunate to know that my grandfather also acted in the movie. Big Time Achievement!!

I'm so shocked to look at the video of the song at 24:20 ..... There are so many things to notice.... 1. Song shot at a swimming pool where there is a big chance for the director to objectify either the heroine, the women present or both of them but there's not even a trace of women in bikinis or anything. 2. Madhubala being the most beautiful woman of the industry back in the day and still she's not objectified. Everybody knows how would this entire song look like had it been shot in the same spot with a beautiful heroine. (everybody in a two-piece). 3. Instead of any sign of objectification, ppl are showing off their diving skills which is just absolutely perfect and the ideal way of shooting any song.... I feel sad to see what our cinema has become now. No wonder this time was referred to as the golden age of cinema! My personal belief is that Raj Kapoor introduced objectification of women in the cinema primarily starting from Bobby, Satyam Shivam Sundaram (this movie even had nudity), etc. I wish if we could get back to that time where it wasn't necessary for actors/actresses to be slim or have 6 abs or have a 0 figure, a perfect face, height, beard, voice, curves, hair, smile, etc, they just required good acting. God please save from this toxic era and take us back to the golden age!!!!!

This movie somehow reflects the life of Mumtaz Jehan, where she never found happyness in her personal life..Her reel and real life was monitored by her father, who used Mumtaz for his own benefits,( money) where in this movie her aunt controls her Married life for her own benefits..At one point in this movie her Aunt said( tum khush hona kal tumhara talaq hone wala hai pretam se) To her question Mumtaz said( AAP to kush hona PHR to mujhe b khush hona chahiye, Aunt: Kiya matlab Mumtaz: yahi to kar Rahi hona har zindagi bar har kaam aapki khush ke liye.. If speaking true, So true lines for poor daughter..She did work, earned for her father,making him happy sacrifices her own happiness..In this movie she confronts her aunt that how she used pretam and her for her own selfishness,but in real life she didn't speak against her father at any point..she didn't stand up with her love..

Madhubala & Nargis were given roles in Pyaasa (1957) and Dilip Kumar was going to play the male lead. But both Madhu & Nargis wanted to do the character of Gulabo (later played by Waheeda Rehman). To avoid cat fight between the two great actresses, he chose Waheeda & Mala Sinha for the movie. Dilip K. was removed as lead and Guru played the role himself. I wish Madhubala & Guru Dutt did few more movies together...such a beautiful couple 💖
