    Have everything there except the 1/2 metric swivel and the SAE double box end. Lol. Plus all the chrome sockets and the other two torque wrenches and more. Everyone saying Icon sucks and I’m over here enjoying the heck out of them, throwing my money at the stuff I need. Been using their sets hard for the past few months. Only complaint is that they’ve advertised the flare nut wrenches but not released it. Also saw a tag for nut driver set... hopefully they’ll be as good as the screwdrivers... good video man!

I wish Harbor Freight wouldve done at least detented flex head ratchet heads. I'm not at all a fan of the full "floating" head. I want soo bad a set of zero offset wrenches. But at 180? Does the Icon torque wrench really have a lifetime warranty? Several years ago I bought the most expensive Craftsman torque wrench they made at that time. It broke the first time I used it. I tried to return it but was told torque wrenches only had a 90 day warranty. They also didn't go by when I bought it but the serial number on the wrench. The warranty expired while it was sitting on the store shelf. I figured I ran into an A-hole clerk mostly but after other experiences there I stopped buying Craftsman tools. That's a big reason why I was looking forward to Icon tools. Hopefully decent quality tools for decent prices.

    With all the money HF splurged on marketing the ICON tool line and making their tools look as close to Snap-on as possible and from what has been mentioned by others who have bought and used them everyday, I would reckon the compatibility of the ICON tools would be more in line with Tekton or even Carlyle. I do like the ICON 1/2" breaker bar, though. It has held up well even on removing penetrant-soaked rusted brake caliper bolts. The quality for the price doesn't seem to stand up as well to the benchmark HF wants to use. I believe HF needs to lower the prices on the ICON tool line like they did on the tool cabinets.

    • @josefelix4152
      @josefelix4152 4 года назад

      30 dollars for a ratchet is pretty cheap already. They have some ICON tools that I do consider to be pretty expensive but for the most part they are priced competitively with gearwrench, tekton, and others. The looking like snap on thing is i think to allow guys who cant afford snap on or have a tool truck available to feel like they have tool truck tools. Are they as good as snap on? No but they are a quarter of the price so value wise maybe we will see.

    When it comes to the Taiwan made tools just go for whatever is cheapest because quality will be the same since all this stuff can be found rebranded elsewhere. There's no reason to pay a premium for tools that you can get for a better price from someone else. Now American, German or Japanese made tools that's a different ballgame.

    For the price of the torque wrenche I'd rather spend the money on a precision instruments one, much better company and they've been making them for a long time

      I though the same, but that torque wrench is pretty darn accurate, I've seen it several times by different people being tested and it does indeed stand up to it's claims for accuracy, but if you don't dig it you don't dig it xD, I haven't bought it because... funny enough my Pittsburgh one does very well, I do calibrated now and then and it was only $12

      Mine isn't either, its always "truck comes Thursday" but the one 7 miles north always has everything. I usually just avoid my closest HF because they're always out of everything.

    I still have no ICON products, so I cannot comment on those who say they are good or bad. I do however think the prices are high. I understand the concept of a quality tool, but I don't think ICON fits that at the level of the prices. For one, I do not have a local HF, so I need to travel a good distance vs other brands like Tekton, Gearwrench, DeWALT, Craftsman, etc where I can handle warranty and service issues on the phone or via email. I would not be opposed to trying one out, but as I am restricted to buying from them direct for any type of warranty (proof of purchase), I will pass.

      Sorry just being a smartass and completely sarcastic obviously, the mans videos are on their website end of discussion. what led to this, like do you explain it in a video ? Or am I going to feel dumb after sending this comment when you answer this question in this video.
      Anyway enjoy hope it all works out well, some slick looking tools there. I have been tempted to pick a bunch up but I don’t do much wrenching and as much as I wish I did I don’t and I suck at teaching myself so until then it just doesn’t make sense to have a bunch of shiny tools

    lets be clear, icon tools are not professional level tools. OK for the dyi guy or gal. i have the icon ratcheting combo wrenches and the 1/4 inch flex head ratchet. The open end side of the combo wrench does open up as all Taiwan wrenches do, but the box end side works well. i have had no issues with the ratchet wrench at all. Look, these are not snap on quality tools. most of my tools are snap on or Milwaukee or proto. I will say too though that the us general tool boxes are good, I have the us general 5 drawer tool cart and it is very good.
