  • Following an agreement with the copyright holder reproduced here is short film footage of a number of English and Scottish Football grounds taken during the 1979/1981 seasons. The original Cine film was shot in Super 8 format in colour and last approximately 90 seconds the quality is variable. (This version 640x480).
The footage captures the scene in and around grounds revealing the stands and terraces and they are a unique snapshot of crucially how the grounds appeared at the time before some of which disappeared forever or had yet to be redeveloped. Clubs not featured were either never filmed or they refused permsission to film at their ground.
In providing these clips respect respect the copyright holder and do not edit or redistribute any of the footage but links back to this post are fine.

So glad I came across this video. This was my Mecca in the early 80's & remember Tony Kellow being behind a desk in the club shop next to the Grandstand. He signed my shirt which was our 1st ever sponsored shirt which was LCD as I remember.

Are you Simon Price ? I used to travel from Teignmouth every home game with Alan Hinder. I moved to the Midlands 30 yrs ago & still attend City away games to this day. Thought I recognised a RUclips video which only certain City fans would remember of the 3-0 win away at Plymouth which was your Introductory . I still have the Carling sponsored shirt from that era. If It's you I hope you are well.
