Yeahhh, After I met Penny in Bordeaux I skated to Italy for 6 months to Assisi and Ancona over the alps on a Powell Pizza graphic sleeping under a different tree every night and rapping for Pizza.
For The Win. Made me think Foy Tiago Westgate too. 😂 I still got my DVD of "They don't give a f about us". Love seeing the older dudes still ripping, much love Winkle

I calculated that a common men's shoe size such as US10 / EU44 is ~11 inches, so a skater with US10/EU44 riding a 7.75" deck means they have ~3.25 inches of shoe hanging off the deck. I have US 13/EU 48 feet (12 inch length), so for me, if I were to ride a 7.75", I would have 4.25 inches of shoe hanging off the board, which is suboptimal and borderline psychotic hahah (I did used to ride 8s which was doable but still too narrow). I have primarily been riding 8.375 or ideally 8.5" boards since I can remember and it used to be VERY VERY hard to source 8.5" boards, sadly. But I required it to equalise the foot length to board width ratio.. 12 inch (US13 shoes) - 8.5" deck = 3.5" of shoe hanging off the deck, which is roughly the equivalent of a US10 shoe man riding a 7.75" deck (i.e., 3.25"). It's all relative. I love this aspect of selecting board width. I was grateful that wider boards became more common over the years. It made my life easier. But it's all about maintaining that sweet spot in my opinion. I think it is wrong for board companies to not produce narrower decks like 7.75 or even 7.5 because we all have different sized feet.
@@yesmaybe630 Oh true! That's pretty cool to hear. For the record, it's very difficult to find 13.5 US shoes man. Half sizes end once you hit 12, unfortunately.
@ I missed the 7.5 days. I quit in 1997 and started skating again in 2010. When I came back I couldn’t believe all the product on the market. Boards had totally changed in size and shape. And skateboarding was mainstream. Shocker considering I started skating in 1989 and was looked down upon by mostly everyone. Now it’s hip. Strange world we live in

@ I think Tony hawk did the 900 on a 7.75 and he has a 13.5 /U.S shoe size.

Tom purely skates for the fun of it. I guess he didnt like the fame and attention he got when he was young cause it made it less fun for him.
