My, bless, the poor little mite he couldn't get enough. So tomorrow I shall be off to the pet store to get the proper baby mix so I can feed him properly. Thanks again.
Isn't that too hard for to digest for baby birds? They are usually fed liquid milk by their parents, for this method to be viable they would need to drink loads of water too.

Always avoid eggs and bread, even corn bread in any form. Eggs are quite hard on the digestive system. Pigeons are tough birds that can process anything so you might not see any problem, but eggs affect their intestines and liver, fat content is quite hard for them. Bread contains a bit of salt, sugar, yeast and it is heat processed so it again damages their intestines and liver. Good reference is that pigeons fed on grain can live up to 20 years, and city pigeons that mainly eat bread live for about 2-3, their livers are huge and fatty and their bones just destroyed.
DuneDemon8 well what can I feed a baby pigeon that "IF" I found lets say a 5 days old baby pigeon or even a newly hatched chick on ground and the mother is besides it dead with it guts open up and the father was just shot by a hunter or taken by a bird if prey? And no pet clinic is no where close to me and is at the far end of my country which takes 10 days to get to? (Lol im just saying this, nothing like that has happened at least not yet,) What can I feed newly hatched chicks or 5 days old chicks or 1 month old chicks? Cause I wanna buy a chick but I always see baby pigeons everywhere, just in case I do find a baby pigeon? What can I feed it?
There are plenty very simple and cheap options. First one is baby cereal that you can get in the store, so grind it and sift it trough a small sift and it can be prepared as food for very small pigeons. After they are 4 days old you can start mixing in puppy food - puppy chow that you grind also to powder, and later after day 7 you use chicken meal in stead of baby cereal, or instead of chicken meal granules for pigeons, all grinded of course and mixed with water to create a food that is : for 1-4 days old think like milk, from 4 to 7 days old like cream, from 8 to 10 days old like watery ketchup, and from 11 to 25 days old like ketchup even a bit thicker like thick tomato sauce - you monitor poop to see if the bird is over hydrated. But bread and egg yolks are quite problematic.
Hyraladen T, if you ever find a pigeon all you need to feed them is soaked pigeon mix...if they're song birds like sparrows etc, you can feed them kaytee formula mix until they're old enough to eat seeds..if they're omnivores then you need to feed them soaked cat/dog food...never give water or bread to baby birds these will kill them.
Hi, My brother,his friend and I rescued a baby pigeon but I don't know what or how to feed it or how to take care of it. I can't put it back for the parents to pick it up for obvious reasons. But the only thing we've managed to do is give it some water. PLEASE HELP!!!!
The eat corn, just a but grounded up or they're babys babys then give them food from a suring, like force thier mouths open and give them the formula and feed them "EXACT hand feeding formula" works great

The looks plumed meaning it was soaked. She onlyshowed us a feeding method I'm sure she offers grit and water as well.

Sorry for teeling you this a month later.
That method is dangerous as the bird could very easily choke ,the parents eat first then take a good drink then regurgitate the food into their crops.
better to just leave nature take its course and put the food in a bowl and see if it eats on its own then.
