In his empty funeral home, he would hear the drum beating and people crying. Also, when a grandpa of ours died. My dad called the same funeral home and asked to meet him to discuss funeral arrangements. The funeral director said he knew someone would be calling because he heard a drum beating and people crying in the other room. He wasn't phased by it. He also told us this one morning he got there early to open the doors for a Hmong funeral. He went to make coffee for himself In the kitchen and there was someone cooking rice. It was a hmong lady all by herself, dressed in Hmong clothes. He said "Hi," and did not receive a response. Later on in the day, he went to go see the deceased snd it was the same lady in the coffin. If you have time during funerals, go talk to the funeral directors. They have some quite interesting stories.
