Thank you. I have had multiple significant changes over the last five years, including being widowed aged 44. It’s part of the healing process to rediscover my style and feel like a person again.
I love the talk. I think there's an adjustment period of what you've seen yourself as in the past, the acknowledgement of current reality, and the embrace of a new you that is an emotional process. It literally requires analysis of your identity and how you see yourself. It's hard. Thank you for your patience and fun approach to these difficult adjustment periods.
@@juliaselkThere are a lot of darker, burgundy-leaning reds in summer palettes too! Especially True/Cool and Soft Summer. But sometimes colours also just look nice in general and fit someone's vibe.
I loved this video and it was the perfect follow up on my GG! So on point! How in luck I am! Like having a GG with extra material 😆 Thank you Rita for sharing your insights! 🥰 They help a lot.
You look so pretty in red ❣️ And you always have such grounded advice. Women are generally too self-critical and often this spills over into being critical of others too. We should be more forgiving ❤️ I think style and self care can be a tool for feeling worthy of being cared for in the first place. It’s like your telling yourself you are worthy of feeling pretty / comfortable / etc. when you’re making that physical effort to care for yourself. The body is the portal to our soul, like a temple, and how we treat it says a lot about how we respect our inner self. Regarding going through hard times, keeping up appearances can even be something that helps us stay somewhat sane. This has been a red thread throughout history, when times were hard and people needed to stay strong despite the circumstances. Greetings from a fellow Swede 🌷
@Aqualyra Yes, you are right. If your body is aged, sick, imperfect, or even dying, you still have perfect access to your soul. Thankyou for pointing it out.
I love you for talking about the actual, emotional relationship we (I) have with style. I feel so much emotions around dressing up. The style advice out there is just so rough and as much as I love to consume it mentally, it just gets me off track in real life. I have a small wardrobe due to budget, sensitivity and being peculiar, but what I can do *again* is wear my one necklace, eye shadow or my tiny collection of handkerchiefs. And any tailoring / dying / other alteration to my existing clothes makes my wardrobe feel superb somehow
Thank you, this was very thought provoking for me :) I've started investing energy into my style again for 5 months now, after a physical taxing pregnancy and being a new parent. Life is tricky! And big life changes also change you ultimately, so you prioritize different things and feel comfortable in different things.
Are bras worse than they used to be, or is it just that I have a higher body fat% (and as much side boob as front boob) and bras were always bad for my size?
You are The Best. I an not really in a slump but it's time to change seasons. My daughter is in a slump. I'd like to see her use your solutions. I so appreciate your Style Thoughts I'm a Moonstone and happy to have found my tribe!!!🎉
Hey Rita! I missed the live but I have a question 🙈 Thanks to your system I actually feel pretty good about my style now - so thank you! I'm LU and love to wear black goth-ish stuff, but I struggle in the summer with my style. I feel vulnerable without my big boots and all black everything - but I don't want to roast! 😆 any tips would be appreciated 🙏
Hi, fellow LU here! For the shoes part, I see that very chunky Birkenstock style sandals are in fashion, or maybe you could try gladiator style sandals if you like the idea of feeling your foot enveloped. I'm also seeing in stores here a lot of cotton or linen clothes in different shades of rich greens and dark blues or reds for this summer, but I don't know if you like to wear them :/ Hope this helps in some way!
@robertascazzari4016 yes! I love to wear green and red! I think I just get distracted by all the pastels and flowers and I feel like summer clothes aren't for me. I actually love summer but I end up wishing the time away 🥲 I'm definitely going to look for some sandals - thanks for the help!
Wonderful video! This type of thinking is why I was so drawn to your style logic. A lot of other systems seem to ignore the emotional aspect of style expression. I know who I am, I know what I like, but going through a rapid succession of changes and challenges changed my priorities. Giving myself permission to enjoy fashion again was a necessary first step. 🫶

Agreed! Love the red and the hair style and all of it!
the red is making her glow!! these colors are making me think Rita might have more of a winter color season… 🙈

I did the 2 miles to a marathon in 36 weeks. No problem. Still can't figure out my style. LOL EDIT: And Rita, this is one of your best videos!

More the container of the soul. Otherwise people with illness would have damaged access to their souls, which isn't true at all.

This video arrived in the perfect timing💜 and you look gorg in red!🥰
Don’t forget about the new clothes that after you wear them a few times and then find out you don’t like them! Carry on!
Here for the replay! Work got in the way of the live. ❤

Again, lovely video! I always think they are worth watching
Thank you, I can relate to the styleslump you're are talking about. Have to remember the good feeling of the small things.🌺🌺🌻🌼

I so feel this too. I'm LD, like to wear all black, and like to feel cozy so the summer time is the bane of my existence lol

You could also try black flatforms (like sandals with a flat platform no heel). I would also definitely try black linen.
@aoifecalderon383 ooh I've never considered black linen, thank you!

This was such a cutie video ❤❤❤
Really needed this Rita, thank you.
Will you do another course at some point down the road? Great video, thank you!
This was so helpful. Thank you!!
