As a former student of Harvard this was the most amazing, insane, and complex thing I have ever heard about involving US history. Going to have to rewatch at least two more times. Huge fan of Anne Hutchinson but Roger Williams is the founder. At best Anne was a co founder since if not for her relationship with Henry Vale, Roger Williams couldnt have gotten the charter. Most insane RUclips video I have ever watched.
As a rhode islander, I love this! The pronunciation of some of the locations could use some work but they're hard as it is. Such interesting history in our tiny state that is often forgotten.
Love these videos. This gives me some great avenues to further research as I am a descendant of the 1st land grant in Providence. Have to do a lot more research into this and see what it really means. I wish you would keep showing more of the original documents instead of all the modern video clips like the boxing and wrestling, dying flower, they don’t add anything and seem pointless, but lots of great info.
@@Travelswithgirlbear I know this is really an audio podcast, but I'm learning how to video edit as I go on, the newest videos have many more maps and paintings, but I use the stock footage available when I can to illustrate a concept.
Can you comment on "Captain Doctor Robert Jeffrey" who was treasurer of Newport in 1639,40,and 41 (perhaps) He was captain of the militia and practiced surgery. He was my 9th great grandfather.
R Dub is the absolute GOAT. Incredibly underrated. No freedom and liberty as we know it without him.

Thank you for your content. I live in Berkley, MA and there’s not many good videos/podcasts on the local history - especially on the 17th century

When I heard that he called someone a saucie boy, I involuntarily grunted. Yea, so savagely saucie...
10:25 probably the part about giving a death sentence for trespassing to people you've just kidnapped from their homes in a place that isn't yours

Gortenites. Love it.
Thank you, from Warwick.
The creepy people of Aquidneck Island still feel this way versus we mainlanders.
I did not know a divide still existed culturally, is the hate mutual?
Love the content of this podcast, but the B roll clips are so annoying.
