Mini 14 was developed by Rugar to be looked at by the U.S military. They turned it down. But Ruger made huge sales to law enforcment agencys. In the 80s and 90s Ruger would not sell to the public its 30rnd mags , only to law enforcement. Today the Mini14 still is a strong contender for people not wanting a AR or AK platform.
You are the guy who reminds the teacher that they forgot to assign homework.....The guy who keeps asking questions at the work meeting well after the boss has finished speaking
I used to carry my mini-14 while on patrol. I bought it in 1983. All the young cops just a few years out of the academy had purchased the AR's with all the bells & whistles & teased me about my choice. I enjoyed pointing out that my rifle could do everything theirs could but for about $800.00 less
If Bill Ruger would have been a little more on the ball, our military would be carrying the Mini-14 as many militarys around the world do! Mainly because they are a better rifle than the AR-15. Much more reliable than the AR ! Throw an AR in the sand or dirt and your in trouble. While a Mini can be thrown in the mud and still fire! They are also self cleaning. AR's have to be cleaned all the time. Ruger started making them years back, with a better barrel, so they don't heat up and are more accurate! I will take a mini over an ar any day of the week! Regardless of current politics...the Ruger Mini-14 is easily in the top 10-15 of most legendary rifle platforms ever created. Friggin love those things. 2A all day
In NY that gun goes from legal to illegal once you add the pistol grip. Because god forbid a rifle should be easier to control for a woman, disabled person, or the elderly. Comfortable handles are dangerous and evil.
@@likeorasgod the mg42 begs to differ aswell as literally every front line marine since the beaches of normendy well full auto is used for suppressing fire most dont ever switch to semi auto and burst fire isnt an option on most modern rifles its called trigger control i can pop off a single round in full auto just as easy as i can let off a burst which is what is what is usually done controlled bursts till the target drops and stops moving the main reason the m16 was mad burst fire was because of its jamming issue
Simply put, anything outside the trigger mechanism (manual vs semi-auto vs bumpfire/other legal high-fire-rate systems vs full auto), caliber, barrel length, and magazine size exists purely for ease of handling, safety, and accuracy... all of which are objectively good things for consumer guns, no?
Pretty sure it was their weapon of choice because it kinda looks tactical, it's almost a rifle, has a box mag, and shoots 22 blanks for the actors that hate recoil
@@chuck2998The A-Team didn't use blanks. You never see flash and you never see spent casings. The Mini 14s they used were cycled by a CO2 gas system configured to make the bolt open and close in rapid secession to replicate full-auto fire from a semiautomatic rifle.
I’ve always loved the Mini 14/30, especially the “tactical” versions vs the “sporterized” ones. They command a pretty hefty price these days compared to what they used to cost, but I still consider it a great rifle. I don’t have a Mini 14 anymore because unfortunately I let it go in a trade years back, but I still have my mini-thirty tactical and shoot it fairly often. I’ve got a basic Vortex Diamondback on it and she always hits what I tell her to!
America may not have viewed it as a weapon of war, but Canada does. It's one of the first things banned along with the AR-15 because the mini was used in a school shooting decades ago.
As much as I think their laws can be BS. They 1 don't have a 2a like us. It's a privilege. And 2, at least the banned guns make sense and aren't arbitrary!
The mini 14 was a contender to the AR platform to replace the M14 as the U.S. service rifle. Its primary detractor was Its mag well, or rather lack of one to ensure the magazine wasn't arbitrarily dropped in combat. Seen it happen to AR's so I am guessing earlier minis had an issue neither of mine have. I have one in .223 and a new one in 300blk. Have a buddy who will be buried with his mini30 in 7.62x39. They're good guns. My .223 is closing on 30 years old. I had to replace a couple parts over the years, but for the first 10 years I owned the weapon, it was my go to for transferring meat from field to table.
If you ain't got an M4, a Mini-14 will have to do. The Second Amendment recognizes our right to own weapons of war. If and when the militia is called up, we are expected to have a comparable firearm.
Do you seriously think that the founding fathers comprehended that there would be rifles that had the Firepower of an entire company of revolutionary soldiers? so stupid
You know, you can get a Ruger 10/22 in stainless, and the same company that makes the stocks for the mini-14, they make one for the 10/22 as well... So in theory, you could get a binary, dependent on your state, install it, get the stock, and....... baa.. ba. ba. baaaa.... ba. na. ba na. baaaa... 😎

Yep! I believe the mini 14 is the last firearm listed in their recent ban
"Anything that can shoot over 5 rounds of ammunition is considered a weapon of war" most bs statement from our countrys government
Hahahaha as a Canadian I approve of this joke
Let the gun grabbers know : Ignorance is a weapon of war.
Crazy that gun nuts seem to have monopolized the ignorance supply in this country 😂🤡
Ignorance these days is a declaration of war not a weapon.. ATF being ignorant to the fact they’re not congress?? Declaration of war upon the people
Arrogant dickheads; "I know don't need to know anything about guns. I already know everything I need to to have an opinion though! And that first one was a bolt action hunting rifle. That second one was a fully semi-automatic baby killer!"
Thanks for letting the cat out of the bag.
For real
No big difference between them and an AR platform. Both are semi-auto and use the same ammo. I own one. They're nice rifles.
No secret

Thank you for giving them a reason to pay attention to it, Preciate it

One of the best rifles I've ever owned
Mini 14 was developed by Rugar to be looked at by the U.S military. They turned it down. But Ruger made huge sales to law enforcment agencys. In the 80s and 90s Ruger would not sell to the public its 30rnd mags , only to law enforcement. Today the Mini14 still is a strong contender for people not wanting a AR or AK platform.
Hannibal, Face, Murdock & BA introduced me to the mini 14.

That’s a classic A-Team rifle right there. It’s unobtanium here in Canada.
Canada has some really cool guns. I've always wanted a Norinco AR, how can an American get one of them shipped from Canada to the US???
@@OuroborosScumbag You cant get a Mini-14 in Canada, but you can order one online here in the US, or just go to your local gun shop
@@ozgott1415 I wasn't talking about the Mini 14, I was talking about the Chinese AR15 called the Norinco Carbine

@@OuroborosScumbag I'm Canadian but I'm pretty sure Chinese made firearms are banned in the US so it would never make it through customs.
Mine is stamped nato 556 so it can shoot both 223 and 556.
and now a days a mini 14 costs more than an AR but has worse ergonomics and accuracy, worse reliability, and proprietary mags
Except hit small targets. Mini14 compared to AR for accuracy.. AR wins hands down.
Only the mini14 doesn't jam like most ars
IF you put a little 3 in red dot scope on it you will get silver dollar acc in a 10 rd mag, in california 10 is all we can have.@@danielelliott3659

Dont tell them, if they figure out about it they will come after the mini 14 as well.

full auto other than to be used as suppressive cover fire is a waste of ammo that is why after NAM they army went with 3 round burst over full auto.

And yes, the A-Team theme started playing in my head LOL
Simply put, anything outside the trigger mechanism (manual vs semi-auto vs bumpfire/other legal high-fire-rate systems vs full auto), caliber, barrel length, and magazine size exists purely for ease of handling, safety, and accuracy... all of which are objectively good things for consumer guns, no?
I dig the heck out the Ruger Mini -14. I first learned of it from the "A-Team". It was their weapon of choice
Big Time Vietnam weapon, And that was their war.
Pretty sure it was their weapon of choice because it kinda looks tactical, it's almost a rifle, has a box mag, and shoots 22 blanks for the actors that hate recoil
@@chuck2998 heard one time it was good at handling how dirty blanks were that they used for filming.
@@chuck2998The A-Team didn't use blanks. You never see flash and you never see spent casings. The Mini 14s they used were cycled by a CO2 gas system configured to make the bolt open and close in rapid secession to replicate full-auto fire from a semiautomatic rifle.

The type of guy you wouldn't want as a character witness.
If you ain't got an M4, a Mini-14 will have to do. The Second Amendment recognizes our right to own weapons of war. If and when the militia is called up, we are expected to have a comparable firearm.
