AutoMate Express Nucleic Acid Extraction System

The AutoMate Express™ Nucleic Acid Extraction System is an easy-to-use benchtop instrument that enables hands-free automation of the nucleic acid extraction process for contaminant and impurity testing. The instrument uses the established PrepSEQ® nucleic acid extraction chemistry for quantitative recovery of DNA and RNA from diverse samples types, including cell culture, raw material (i.e., serum), and in-process downstream purification samples such as column purification or bulk drug substance (BDS) samples.

The AutoMate Express™ instrument is a fully-automated DNA extraction system for a broad range of sample types.
First, load and insert the cartridge rack. PrepSEQ Express cartridges are sealed and contain the extraction reagents. This closed system minimizes the risk of contamination. All plastics, including tips and sample, lysis, and elution tubes, are included in the PrepSEQ® Express™ kits. Cartridges containing the PrepSEQ Express extraction reagents, and lysis tubes are loaded into the rack, and the rack is then inserted into the instrument.
Next, load and insert the tip and tube rack. Load the metal rack with tips and tip holders, elution tubes and sample tubes with the test samples that needs to be processed. Then insert the metal rack into the instrument.
You are now ready to start the fully automated extraction run. Select the protocol and parameters for your specific application using the guided set up displayed on the instrument interface. The completely hands-free operation enables reproducible extraction efficiencies and consistent recovery of DNA from challenging matrices.
Multiple options for lysis times and elution volumes enable protocols to be customized for your test samples. Simply start the run and walk away. In just 1 hour the run is complete. The elution tubes in the metal rack now contain highly purified Nucleic acid that is ready to be analyzed using a Real-Time PCR Analytics assay.
Use the AutoMate Express to perform hands free DNA or RNA extraction for Mycoplasma, Viral or residual DNA testing. The system enables quantitative and reproducible recovery from a diverse set of complex matrices that includes samples from process purification to final drug substance. As you saw in this video the system enables out of the box automation through the pre-filled cartridges and pre-programmed protocols.
