Bet your mum was pleased Maria :-) Beautiful colour combinations as well. I have Lavender growing in my garden here in the UK two types the original purple European lavender and also a more delicate pink Lavender, both have a gorgeous smell, one of my favourite plants. Lovely painting.
Yes she loved it 😃💕thank you! I miss having lavender in my garden but I get to smell it from my neighbours across the street so can't complain 😋😉thank you so much and Happy New Year 😃🌹
That's good I am sure she loved it very much. Well it's almost New Year here in the UK just under 2 hrs to go, but not sure if I will make it to midnight! Wishing you a happy New Year as well, take care Maria and speak soon x
Well I didn't crept into bed at 11.30 to listen to the fireworks until 2 am! I am tired today and have a houseful of loved ones later for a slap up Indian feast, lol. Oh well it's only once a year, thank goodness! Happy 2017 Maria and may your paintings be never ending :-)
Thank you!!! 😊You are very sweet!! I felt asleep at 11:45pm right before midnight! Haha Indian food sounds so good! Maybe I can get my sister to cook 👨🍳 for me today lol she's great in a kitchen! Thank you again!!! And hello in 2017 😋🎈😀😉
I always think "That must be it finished" then you always keep on painting and it's always amazing! It's a real lesson for a beginner...put in detail! Must remember... :) Thank you again Maria.
bonsoir Maria, superve aqyarelle, avec ce champs de lavandes , et des couleurs magnifique!!! Maria , j apprecie toujours vos peintures , je me lasse pas!!!!!
Amazing videos, you make things look so simple and realistic aswell, I really love every single piece of your work and thanks for the motivation to take painting serious again :) ! Gonna start making some of my own work aswell !
Hi Maria I haven't been around for a while, I had some health issues and then one of my oldest friends passed and things went haywire for me for a while. But this morning I came back on and the first vid I watched was this one because your paintings always cheer me up. I love lavender (I love all plants - heck I just love nature!) you've been busy so I have a lot of catching up to do! Purple and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations so this is easily one of my fave paintings so far. It's so peaceful and the scent! Have you ever been to a lavender field? This reminds me one when we saw one years ago, the scent is heavenly! This is a long comment! Going to watch another of your vids now. 😊💕
Welcome back Harper !! I'm so sorry that you had health issues, and sorry about your friend passing... :( but glad you are back and that my videos can cheer you up! I painted this one thinking of my mom, she wanted me to paint lavender fields but no, I haven't been to one before, I would love to! There may be some in California? I know there's plenty in people's yard here around where I live. I love purple too :) I just can never find a way to put it in the painting so I was so glad I got to paint this one..
I can't wait to attempt this one too. Such color and depth! I was wondering what watercolor brands you use? The mauve in particular is difficult to find
Hi :) Thank you so much for your interest in my art :) I don't really disclose the brand names here on my channel yet but I am happy to give you the info via email: maria@loveoriginals.com Thank you!!
I absolutely love this painting. I loved watching you and I even loved doing my best attempt at it. One question though. I tried so many brushes and I just could not get the paint to spatter like yours did. Oh well, I still got close. Thank you so much for sharing your time and especially your talent!!!
Hi Linda💙thank you so much! I appreciate that a lot. For the spatter I use an old brush, it's so spread I can't use it anymore for anything else😅It was an angular/shader brush by princeton. It's hard and small and easy to control "small spatter".
Wonderful! I’m inspired! You make it look so easy and it’s soooo not. Really appreciate the skill that’s gone into it. I would also like to ask you what weight and type of paper you used as I’m not getting anywhere near the same effect. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Annie
Excellent work 👍🏻 I m a beginner in watercolor painting, defiantly would get to learn from your videos. Do u use pan watercolor or tubes ? N please suggest which one is better.
Hi! Welcome and thank you so much :-) I use and prefer watercolor in tubes, liquid form, I just like it more that way to get it out on the palette, add water less or more, whatever is needed and work from there :)
I'm looking through all of your videos now that I have found you! I really like your work and that you do tutorials instead of just stressful time lapses which are quite hard to learn from. I like that you actually use white and black, a lot of artists doesn't and even though I understand why in theory I still think it is a matter of personal preference and I prefer to use black and white myself. I think it gives something extra to the painting. :) I have a question though, and it's about golden ochre, yellow ochre, raw sienna, indian yellow. How do you think they differ from each other, in quality/they way they act? I know they differ in hues but they are quite similar somehow. Hope I make sense, English is not my first language, sorry if I sound weird! >.< Hihi, love your work! Best regards, Lina S.
Hi Lina🤗Thank you for your comment and subscribing, Glad to have you here :) I love that you think the same way, it is a personal preference for using black and white 👍And I truly believe it gives so much more to the painting and helps to bring out more color, especially that most watercolor paintings are super washed out and I just love paintings that are more rich and vibrant 😉so for the colors you have mentioned I think you can see the difference the most when you have those diluted with water, straight out of a tube they may seem the same, but again once mixed with water they are different, also some colors are more opaque than the other ones. You mentioned Indian yellow, it's a very warm yellowish yellow and the texture actually seems way diffferent from yellow ochre or raw sienna. I've came across indigo and paynes gray, two of my favorite colors, and even they seem almost exactly the same, paynes gray it's a bit darker and you can see the difference when they are right next to each other on a paper (mixed with water) All those four colors you mentioned work really great together, perfect combination to paint trees or wooden house🤗💕I hope this helps! Btw Your English is great, i think I understood everything!
Thank you for your answer! It helped! :) I shall also look into which one granulates or is the most transparent one. Lovely that you actually answer the comments, that is quite uncommon for a youtuber. Thank you :) I've been struggling with my confidence while painting lately and watching your videos helps getting my motivation back. I'm drawing for a painting right now, hehe, thank you!
Hi Lina 😊thank you for sharing, I'm glad I can help and inspire you to get back to painting again 😋💕I'm here to help so let me know if you have any other questions. And yes!! Some watercolors are more transparent than other ones, like raw umber is much more opaque comparing to for example burnt umber... in my opinion. Thanks again!
I love your painting a lot, i already draw 14 of them:-)) but now i have a problem, after drawing the paper is not that flat like yours, also color are not beautiful like yours. so could you tell me what kind of watercolor paper you used, like brand name and how many gm? what side of paper, rough or smooth side, thank you a lot.
Hi Sarah! Wow! :-) I love it! I just got so excited when you said you painted 14 out of my painting videos 😊!
